It's just that I want more written books or short stories on Skylark .... I really hatecthe fact that it's all over. I'm wandering around in this world thinking what to do with my life next... Aaaaagghhhh I want more so badly

It means so much to me that Skylark is such an important book for you. I love that you’ve spent so much time thinking about it and that it seems to be so meaningful to you! That’s the greatest gift you can give an author, truly.

At the moment, I don’t intend to write any more about the Skylark universe—not because I don’t love it, but because there are so many more stories and people and worlds that I want to write about. For me, Lark’s story is finished. She’s been through so much, and despit...

Hi, Sooz. Recently at my polish class we’ve been discussing how high art is an intellectual challenge for mature readers & popular art is just for nothing but amusement. And I felt a bit down with my high fantasy novel. I wondered if you, as a professional

Oh gosh, there is nothing that pisses me off more than people separating art into categories like this. I don’t think that “popular” and “high” are mutually exclusive, and I don’t think my novels take anyless work than a literary novel.

And let me tell you something else: you know what has had a MUCH greater impact on my life? You know what has helped me mature and grow and evolve? FANTASY NOVELS. Fantasy art. Fantasy films and tv shows. Or mysteries. Or sci-fi. Or thrillers or paranormal or e...

So amiekaufman and I have been sitting on some pretty exciting news for the past few weeks, and today we finally get to share it with all of you! The announcement went live today for our new series together, starting with Unearthed, to publish in Fall 2017.

The quick and dirty down-low? The book is Indiana Jones meets Lara Croft… in space.

If that’s not enough of a teaser for you, then check out its page on Goodreads for the (slightly) longer version of the pitch!

When will you have another giveaway?

I don’t know. We give stuff away when we’ve got stuff to give, and right now, we don’t have anything new or exciting to give. That said, we have a running monthly giveaway of bookmarks and other swag for subscribers to Amie’s and my newsletter. Though we don’t put out a newsletter every month (recently we’ve been on deadline and then vacation) we still do the giveaway every month. We’ll be doing another drawing and sending out a newsletter soon, so if you want to enter that, you can subscribe...
