Book Description: The Last Necromancer
Victorian London: For five years, Charlotte
(Charlie) Holloway has lived as a boy in the slums. But when one theft too many
gets her arrested, her only means of escape lies with a dead man. Charlie
hasn’t raised a spirit since she first discovered she could do so five years ago.
That time, her father banished her. This time, she brings even more trouble upon
herself.
People are now hunting Charlie all over
London, but only one man succeeds in capturing her.
Lincoln Fitzroy is the mysterious head of a
secret organization on the trail of a madman who needs a necromancer to control
his newly “made” creatures. There was only one known necromancer in
the world - Charlotte - but now there appears to be two. Lincoln captures the
willful Charlie in the hopes the boy will lead him to Charlotte. But what
happens when he discovers the boy is in fact the young woman he’s been
searching for all along? And will she agree to work for the man who held her against
her will, and for an organization she doesn’t trust?
Because Lincoln and his ministry might be
just as dangerous as the madman they’re hunting.

#3 in the Third Freak House Trilogy
While investigating the mysterious deaths of Edith Myer’s family, Quin is summoned once more to help Cara and the other Freak House residents. But their reunion is cut short by the return of Everett Myer through the portal, and the man he brings with him – Quin’s nemesis: Edward de Mordaunt.
With Myer and de Mordaunt intent on their scheme, Cara and Quin must untangle years of secrets to get to the truth. Meanwhile, Cara is determined not to let her warrior go, no matter the cost to herself.
As questions are finally answered, and long-held secrets revealed, will they ever be together? Or must they wait until Cara joins Quin in the afterlife, which could be sooner than they think.

Review of MY SOUL TO TAKE

This third and final book in the 3rd Freak House trilogy is everything I could have wished for and more. Taking storylines from not only the first two books in this trilogy, but threads woven throughout all the Freak House books, C.J. Archer manages to tie everything together and bring it all to a very satifsying and magnificant conclusion.
Although I loved each and every main character from the Freak House books, Cara holds a special place in my heart. I love her defiance of, or lack of concern for, convention. She is a strong and willful character who isn’t afraid to speak her own mind or go boldly wherever she needs to go, with little heed to her own safety. She’ll do anything for those she loves. She has always seemed to live a bit outside the realms of the social circles the other characters inhabit and I admire her cavalier and solitary nature.
This book is a wonderful example of how well trilogies can work and the author has these down to a science without being repititious, formulaic or boring. How she manages to weave so many characters, major and minor, and enticing storylines throughout so many books and keep them all intense and exciting is a major feat. This book, and her many worlds, are well worth the time spent in them.

An update from C.J.
I’ve just sent My Soul To Take (book 3 in the 3rd Freak House Trilogy) to my editor. It’ll be going up for pre-order at most retailers soon, with a release date of mid-May.
I’ve just finished the draft of Strange Horizons which is the (long) short story featuring Hannah and Jack on their honeymoon. It takes place after the 1st Freak House Trilogy. This story will be totally FREE to download from my website for newsletter subscribers in July. So be sure you subscribe or you won’t be able to get it. Link is above or on my website http://cjarcher.com/newsletter/
I’ve just started a new series which I’m LOVING. It’s also set in Victorian England and involves a necromancer and an assassin-type of guy. More details on that after the release of My Soul To Take.
