Q: Lorna, if you could tell the readers one thing about yourself that wasn’t in your book, what would it be?
A. One thing? Wow, that’s tough. I would have to say that I love to watch reality television. Mostly the cooking channels, but my favorite is Hell’s Kitchen.
Q. When Fiona set you up with Gerard did you find him attractive?
A. Of course! Gerard is extremely handsome. He’s a cross between Ben Affleck and Chris Pine. He’s a gentlemen and a bit on the serious side. But that’s how I like a man.
Q. Neil. Tell us about him.
A. The love of my life. I knew it the day I met him on our college campus and I knew it the day I stood at the church ready to say my vows. A gentle soul, calm and kind and everything that’s good in the world. That’s Neil.
Q. Neil, if you could tell the readers one thing about yourself that wasn’t in your book, what would it be?
A. I didn’t’ always want to be a firefighter. From the age of 5 till I was 16, I wanted to be a volcanologist.
Q. A what?
A. (Laughs) A Volcanologist. My parents had a friend that would come over on Sunday morning for breakfast and talk about his job as a Volcanologist. I was mesmerized by the danger he would tell us about.
Q. What made you pursue another career path?
A. Three letters. PhD in Geology. Who knew.
Q. Tell us about Lorna.
A. An amazing woman—dedicated to the core when she’s in love. She’s the type of woman that would stand by my side and be my cheerleader. I was blessed to meet her in 2004, and I’ve loved her every moment from that day forward.
Q: Fiona, if you could tell the readers one thing about yourself that wasn’t in your book, what would it be?
A. I hate when my brother and his wife come over and stay with me. Who’s going to read this because I don’t want this to get back to them?
Q. The public. You talk about your weight a lot in the book. How has that affected you?
A. Being overweight is not fun. There’s a different level of respect that you get from the general public when you’re overweight. I lost 60 pounds with a good diet and exercise. It was just hard to get myself motivated to get there.
Q. You and Lorna grew up together. Has she ever made you mad?
A. (Laughs) Of course. We’re like sisters and sisters get mad at each other. I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Q. If you could give us one word to describe Gerard, what would it be?
A. Finger-lickin-good. (giggles)

[image error]Q. Apollo, I’m—I want to ask you a couple questions if you don’t mind.
A. I don’t mind at all. Please, go ahead.
Q. If you could share with the reader one thing about your life that wasn’t in your book, what would it be?
A. Sometimes, I think I can remember being in my mother’s womb. The rhythm of her heartbeat was like a lullaby that comforted me while I slept. Her voice was the melody of an angel, and I remember a song she sang to me and Amaya while we were in her stomach. If I heard it today, I would recognize the song. It was a Spanish lullaby.
Q. What was it like growing up here—here in the forest?
A. Normal. We didn’t know anything different. Although I had always wished there were more kids like us that we could play with.
Q. We read in the book that you were human until your eighteenth birthday.
A. That’s correct.
Q. Care to elaborate?
A. No.
Q. Where’s the blood bank?
A. You passed it on your way to Max’s lair.
Q. That, that’s where they took the guy that was with me!
A. Why would you have come into a lair of vampires?
Q. To have this moment right here with you. What’s it like Apollo?
A. What?
Q. Being a vampire.
A. Like an abandoned house with dark secrets. My soul is dark and empty, and only a distant memory lingers of the person I once was. Your worst nightmare would become your best friend, if you knew the whole truth.
[image error]Q. If you could share with the reader one thing about your life that wasn’t in your book, what would it be?
A. When I was a kid, I always wondered why my father’s skin was colder than ours. I would often have nightmares about it.
Q. What is a typical day for you?
A. Do you mean a typical night?
Q. Yes.
A. Feed two times a night, hunt, and attend training classes on how to be an even better fighter. Even as a vampire, we understand it’s survival of the fittest.
Q. Do you ever leave the forest?
A. Of course, some of the vampires even have night jobs. They’ve been prepped to work with humans and make money. They are also the eyes and ears of our clan.
Q. How many of you live here?
A. No one gets a number. If numbers fall into human hands it will give them power over our kind.
Q. What’s it like being a vampire?
A. Strength, keen senses, speed, immortality wrapped up like a gift on Christmas morning. It’s who I am.
Q. Do you love anyone?
A. Love? Good question. I’m interested in someone, but I’m not sure that I know if vampires love the way human’s love. Without a soul, we’re different.

Q: Antonio, if you could tell the readers one thing about yourself that wasn’t in your book, what would it be?
A. I miss my dad. Maybe the reader knows that, but it was tough when he died. I was only fourteen and things just haven’t been the same without him. Plus, I bet he would have been proud of me making it all the way to Hollywood.
Q. Anyone who has ever lost someone can surely relate. You’ve been in California for two years. What are the biggest differences between California and New York that you’ve noticed?
A. I love the weather in California. Yet, there’s relatively no season change. I think Californians miss out on the opportunity to see the seasons in its entirety.
Q. Candace. What’s she like?
A. A smart ass (chuckles). Actually, she’s stubborn yet determined. She’s one of those girls, (clears his throat) excuse me, women that is beautiful on the inside and outside, yet she doesn’t know it. I love her passion and her dedication to her work and to me of course. That day on the beach when I met her, was the best day of my life.
Q. Any future movies?
A. I sure hope so. I’m not ready for my career to end just yet.
Q: Candace, if you could tell the readers one thing about yourself that wasn’t in your book, what would it be?
A. I’m a tomboy at heart. When I was a kid, I loved climbing trees and getting dirty. As I grew up and became a woman, I had to stop having that kind of fun.
Q. How did you feel when you were told about your past?
A. Shocked! That’s the only word that attempts to sum up my feelings.
Q. Any babies in the future?
A. (Nervous giggle) Maybe someday.
Q. Your thoughts about Antonio?
A. A great actor and an amazing man. He comes from a really wholesome family, and I like that. I can’t imagine my life without him.
