I finished The Language of Thorns by Leigh Bardugo a couple of weeks ago and I really enjoyed it. I liked that she took fairy tales that were meant to tell children (especially girls) to stay on the path and turned them into feminist stories praising independence and strength. The illustrations were so beautiful that I wanted to make my own. This is fan art for the last story which had me thinking of mermaids for a long time.
