Nina & Matthias Snippet
Sending out my newsletter next week. You should subscribe! It arrives rarely but when it does it has nice things like fanart and news. Next week I’ll be including a little snippet of Nina & Matthias dialogue that got cut from Crooked Kingdom. Because it’s Valentine’s Day. And because I’m THE WOOOORST.

“Crows remember human faces. They remember the people who feed them, who are kind to them. And the people who wrong them too. They don’t forget. They tell each other who to look after and who to watch out for.”

Kaz Brekker has a category of his own: Psychological torture.
Bravo, Kaz. Bravo.
Brick by brick.

Not that I'm looking into a tattoo artist or anything (I am) but where would one might find the most accurate picture of the cup and crow tattoo of the Dregs?
Here ya go…

As I mentioned before, this is the Dregs tattoo I commissioned from the talented Kim Saigh—though you should absolutely feel free to interpret the Crow & Cup as you see fit.
Thus endeth the ask binge!
Is there absolutely ANYTHING else you can tell us about Ninth House? And will you return to the grishaverse after the duology?
I can tell you is that Ninth House
is fantasy but set in our world, at Yale Universityit focuses on the secret societies as repositories of arcane magic
I was in a secret society
if you go to my instagram (Lbardugo) you can see some pics of my research trip
My first trip back to the Grishaverse will be an illustrated collection of original fairytales called The Language of Thorns that comes out in September. As for future Grishaverse novels… more news to come later this year :)
Did you expect Six of Crows to be as popular as it is?
Nope. The entire time I was writing SoC I kept saying, “Why am I doing this? No one’s going to want to read this.” And I would kind of laugh a brittle, semi-hysterical laugh, and my friends would look at me with concern in their eyes, and then I’d go back to work. It’s sort of all you can do. You tell the story you want to tell. You tell it the best you can. You hope for the best.
Just wondering, but do you see Jesper as a hufflepuff?
Yup… This is how I sorted the crew
Kaz - Slytherin
Inej - Gryffindor
Nina - Gryffindor
Matthias - secretly a Hufflepuff
Jesper- Hufflepuff
Wylan - Ravenclaw
Hi! I love Six of Crows and Crooked Kingdom, and I was wondering, which leg did Kaz break? Also on which arm do the Dregs normally get their tattoo?
It’s Kaz’s right leg, but I honestly can’t remember which forearm the Dregs get their tattoo on. If you read the scene with Nina healing Inej belowdecks, it’s definitely mentioned there.
Out of curiosity, is the Six of Crows duology finished? I've tried asking around, but no one has given me a straight answer.
It’s finished.
