On Saturday, I met this wonderful man, the uncle of the boy who inspired Finch. Uncle Jeff drove five hours to be there and stayed all day. Readers loved meeting him, and I’ll never forget the thing he told them: that I was the brightest place in his nephew’s life. Thank you, Jeff, for being there and for making me lovely. I’ll never forget it.
