Barbara Kingsolver says, “Close the door. Write with no one looking over your shoulder. Don’t try to figure out what other people want to hear from you; figure out what you have to say. It’s the one and only thing you have to offer.”

Hey Booklrs!

You’ve all voted in the first round of Booklr’s Best Books of 2015 (thank you!) and now it’s time to narrow down that list! Below are the books that received the most votes in the first round and in order to get to the best books of 2015 in each category, we need you to vote again!

Which Fantasy, Contemporary, and Romance book published in 2015 do you think deserves the title of “Best Book of 2015″? If you want your picks to win, remember to vote!

Let us know by voting below in the poll!

In order to see the poll, you do need to visit our blogs ( @bookgeekconfessions is the original creator and will have the poll on her blog as well), or you can simply go to the link here.

Happy reading & voting!

P.S. Remember to reblog and share so a lot of people can vote!

It may be 80 degrees here in Los Angeles, but the holiday decorations are everywhere, which makes it an even brighter place.

Linus loves All the Bright Places. He’s learning to be a literary cat! First lesson: lie on desk, preferably directly on top of my work.

TIME Magazine Top 10 YA of 2015

TIME Magazine has chosen its Top 10 YA/Children’s Books of the Year, and All the Bright Places is number 3, right behind my lovely friend Drew Daywalt and the terrific Rainbow Rowell.

I am trying to breathe it all in, but everything that’s happening– and that has happened– this year seems unreal. It’s weeks like these that make me especially miss my mom. No one believed in me more or would have been prouder.

"What makes the Goodreads Choice Awards different from any other book award out there? It’s all..."

“What makes the Goodreads Choice Awards different from any other book award out there? It’s all decided by the people who actually buy and read books, not a small committee of people. To figure out the first round of nominees, we dig into statistics from the millions of books added, rated and reviewed by Goodreads members in 2015. And then we open it up to voting by our members to make the final decision.”

-

Jessica Donaghy, senior editor at Goodreads via CNN.com

(Which is why this particular award means the most to me. Thank you, readers! I LOVE YOU! As authors, we never lose sight of the fact that we couldn’t do what we do without you. xx)
