Thank you for a perfect day

Dear Shari & Logan:

This past Saturday was so very lovely. Yallwest is always a happy occasion, and I was excited to be there with my fellow authors and readers. But two readers in particular made it an unforgettably perfect day. You. <3

Thank you for being there. Thank you for flying all the way to Los Angeles from South Carolina. Thank you for being such wonderful supporters of my books and me. Thank you for making me lovely.

I feel as if we’ve known each other all our lives. Like we were family reuniting, not people meeting for the first time.

Shari, I was lucky enough to have the greatest mom in the whole wide world. You remind me of her, which is something I rarely say. You are remarkable and gracious and sparkling, and the person I want to be like. Your love for your daughter is extraordinary, and it’s an amazing thing to witness. (I am still crying over your beautiful, beautiful blog post about our time together.)

Logan, you are amazing. So poised and funny and smart and lovely. You are going to take on the world, and I know without a doubt that you’ll do anything you put your mind to. I can’t wait to see what you do.

Thank you both for being lovely and bright. Thank you for YOU. I feel so honored to have been a part of the Happy Graduation/Happy 18th Birthday celebration!!!

And thank you for my beautiful gift, which I will always treasure. I will look at it every day and think of you both and that perfect Saturday in April. <3

Happy early Mother’s Day! I’m sending you all the love in the world across the miles. I can’t wait to see you again!!!
