WHO IS JOHN HARDING?
"How I got to doing what I do is a long story. I spent time in uniform, and six years in special ops. In younger years growing up my old man and me had to travel a lot. He whipped me good and often. Only thing was... I got to liking it... not so much the beating as the pain. When I hit fourteen we lived in an old shack of a place near the Mahoning River in Leavittsburg, Ohio. My Pa came home drunk deciding it was time for another beat down. It was. I broke his jaw and then his arm. While he lay screaming in pain I kicked him right in the nuts as hard as I could. Pa quieted down then.
I took what money he had, some clothes, and his car. Heading South, I found a place down in Texas called Plano where I hired on at a fast food joint. I stayed in the back of an old man's junkyard. Pete, the junkyard owner took a liking to me. He helped me get a driver's license and birth certificate. That's when I became John Harding and a very young eighteen year old. Pete told me the service would be a good place to get my GED and some money saved. The Marines needed a few good men. They took me anyway. Nothing much was happening back in 1997; but I went Recon and saw some neat foreign places: Kenya, Kosovo, and the Philippines. It turned out I had a penchant for learning languages and the Marines began training me in a few helpful ones... helpful for them. Nine eleven hit about the time my four years were up. At nineteen I was in Afghanistan. Being a vet by the time they started doing special ops in Iraq I thought it best to hone the only damn skills I'd managed to attain.
Now I'm out, sort of, and free lancing with odd jobs. I tried getting into the extreme cage stuff but the referee was slow stopping my first fight and I killed a guy. It was bad publicity for the sport so they told me I needed a cooling off period. Tommy saw the fight. He recruited me. Tommy Sands grew up in East LA. He's the guy Barrack Obama said his grandma used to hide from on the street. Tommy and me hit it off right away. He's smooth with the side bets. We have an understanding. He knows the pain don't bother me much. I know he don't mind watching me take some. The impromptu money fights are more my style anyway. It allows me the leeway for my other enterprises."- John Harding

Filicide is the intended act of a parent killing his or her own child. The act is also regarded as an offence since it amounts to murder. To most of society, filicide appears very unnatural and inhumane, yet a small percentage of parents exist who do kill their offspring. Many researchers and scholars have associated these tragedies as being caused by domestic violence.
The stories that follow go against everything we have been taught and have learned. We perceive mothers to be the epitome of care and support, yet mankind teaches us cruel lessons.

"Is there anything more reprehensible than filicide--that is, the intended act of a parent killing his or her own child? In "Parents Who Killed Their Children," the award-winning true crime author RJ Parker shines a powerful light on this dark and sordid phenomenon. First, Parker offers a number of possible psychological and environmental causes (or at least correlates) of filicide. Then he presents ten shocking, real life case histories of parents who murdered their children. The result is a book that is bound to make you rethink the absolute sanctity of motherhood and reflect on why some mothers do indeed "eat their young." This is a powerful read and another hard-hitting, compelling entry by RJ Parker."

Beyond Sticks and Stones, released March 14 (Bullying, Cyberbullying, Suicide)
"Stephen King shook the world with his first book Carrie that showed bullying at its worst, and then the latest film adaptation took it even further with adding the cyberbulling element to it. It's a crime that is growing and we need to be educated against it, and this book is a great place to start."- Kipp Poe Speicher (Author)
A must read for teens, parents and teachers .
Are those who are bullied, victims? You bet! Cyberbullying, harassment, embarrassing others, tormenting, threatening or humiliating, and spousal abuse are all considered 'bullying.' It happens to children, teens, and adults. It occurs in pre-school, elementary school, college, home, and in the workplace. It is apparent in all walks of life. Bullying occurs in every town, city, state, province and country, and it has many ugly faces. But with today's technology, mobile phones, internet, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and a host of other platforms, I'm going to emphasize more on children, students, and teens, because that is where it commences and for most, carries over into their adult lives.Inside the book:

Missing Wives, Missing Lives by JJ Slate (A compilation of true cases of missing women)
Missing Wives, Missing Livesby JJ Slate
Coming this summer, 2014 in eBook, Paperback and Audiobook editions.
JJ's debut true crime novel, Missing Wives, Missing Lives, will highlight true stories in which a wife has mysteriously vanished and is presumed dead, and the undying efforts of her family and loved ones as they search to bring her home.
It is estimated that approximately 2,300 Americans are reported missing every day — an average of 840,000 people a year. These totals are six times the amount of the national averages reported just twenty years ago. Crime experts estimate that fewer than five percent of those reported missing are actual abductions or kidnappings by a stranger.
JJ Slate has been fascinated by missing persons reports and cold cases for as long as she can remember. With the sheer volume of people reported missing each day, it’s impossible to follow each case in the media, but there are always incidents that seem to pluck at her heartstrings. When a wife mysteriously vanishes in the midst of filing for divorce or undergoing custody proceedings, it is only natural for investigators to look at the husband first. There have been countless cases like this in the media, and many of them have been solved after the wife’s remains have eventually been found. In some instances, the husband has even been prosecuted for his wife’s murder, even though a body has never been found. But even in these cases, true closure may not be possible until the families are able to physically bury their loved one. Some of these families continue the gruesome search for the remains of their daughter, granddaughter, sister, aunt, or mother even years later.

Epilogue
It is said that the love of a mother for her children is the purest form of love; one of the most natural, purest feelings that exist on this planet. Even though she carries the child for nine months, constantly suffering through severe pain, her love doesn't deter even the slightest. Then, when the child is in his early stages, she feeds him from her breast, cares for him, provides for him and does everything in her power to make life as comfortable as possible for the little child. She spends her nights devoid of sleep, making sure that the child is properly tucked in and comfortable. If he awakes during the night, she is there to cater to his every need and make sure that the child remains as comfortable as can be.
She cares for the child when he is most vulnerable, protecting him and guiding him away from harm. She does whatever she can to make sure that the child grows up to be an independent, successful being. That is one of the primary reasons why society has granted mothers the highest of positions. In virtually every religion, the sanctity of a mother is highlighted above all others. She is given a much higher status than fathers, and it is natural for a child to call for his mother when he is in pain. It seems as if we were engineered to instinctively call out to our mothers whenever we are in pain, or when we need help.
The question then arises, could this holy figure go against what has been associated with her throughout eternity? Could a mother turn on her child, neglect him and not worry about him? The answer, evidently, is yes. Mothers who become embroiled in drug battles often leave their children to the mercy of this world, not caring about their needs and wants. Then, there are those who leave their children in foster care homes, not caring for a second about the child himself. There are those as well who abort their child, before even giving birth.
You will argue that such women do not deserve to be called mothers, and that they should never have been allowed to have a baby. You will say that becoming a mother is a great honor that a woman must fulfill to the best of her capabilities, and if she wants to shun this title, then she is not a good person at all. Leaving children at foster care homes, having an abortion, or neglecting the child are some of the things that we have begun to understand over the years. Yes, this happens. We read about it, we watch it on the news, we feel pity, and then we move on. The continuous occurrences of such events have trained our minds to filter out the emotions. Yet, it still hurts when you read about it. The question then begs an answer, what should happen to a mother who decides to kill her own child? What level of punishment should be inflicted on such a person?Visit RJ Parker Publishing at
