What is a doggy to do on a cold frosty day?
When the grass is all crunchy and icy...
And the correct answer would be, drag your mattress outta your shed (off your bed) of course! With a little mutilating in the process.. So guess what we need to buy now *lol* still they didn't touch it for nearly a year which is a new record for them! Made me smile when Glenn showed me these pics and I had to share them *grin*Take care all!Nic The Arrival, on Amazon or UK Amazon or Smashwords

A little stuck… can you help?
I'm trying to find the right actor to 'play' Rumal. Rumal was originally inspired by my friend Sandra's (Kassie) ex boyfriend. A lovely six foot+ African American gentleman. As my friend (in the book as well as real life) is only just five foot I just loved the idea of the contrast between those two so that's how Rumal was originally inspired. But I haven't been able to find the right actor yet! So I'll describe more about Rumal and who he is and if any of you have a suggestion I'd love to hear it *grin*
Rumal is obviously tall and muscular with dark skin. He is a member of the Griffon Guard and linked with Kerak, a griffon with golden tints to his light tan coat. He had originally linked with a griffon called Ofelaan but she was killed by Jenviet about a decade ago (in accordance to The Arrival's timeline). Rumal's family raises horses on the island Delanta and the Br'Laan Estate is well known due to the pedigree of their horses. When he does get to visit home Rumal likes to spend time with his siblings. He is the eldest of the four and has two younger sisters and a brother. Rumal has rather unusual eyes, described as having the appearance of 'molten gold' the significance of which is explained in Book two (most things have a reason *grin*). Not surprisingly one of his favourite past times is horse riding and he's rather good at it. When he does visit home he helps his father and Grandfather break horses and enjoys teaching Zeynon, his little brother, how to ride. Zeynon is just five and as the baby of the family, rather spoilt.
So does anyone have a suggestion as to the actor to play Rumal? All thoughts are welcome :)
Take care all!

The Arrival and A Wet & Wild night - now FREE for a limited time
I'm not doing the riddle while the books are available on Smashwords for free. Instead I'm popping the covers up with direct links to them. Read and enjoy and if you like either enough to review them that is fantastic and thank you very much! My brain is still very much with the draft of book two at the moment so please excuse my scant post : )

Hell when did I get to 400 followers? And what happened to being raptured??
Welcome to my new followers!! Delighted to meet you all (and where the heck did you come from?)
Okay so I've been rather focused on my writing for the last week. Unfortunately I haven't picked a character for this Monday and I apologise profusely - I blame the #RaptureFail ;p
Actually I was all poised to tweet 'I'm still here' at 10pm when I read at about 9pm that it was meant to have occurred at 6pm.. Oops.. I would be late for it (as a heathen it's really only appropriate). Instead I've been trying to hash out this draft of book two. And I've come up with a novel ;p advertising method, both my books are now free on Smashwords. Crazy? Well possibly, but in the months that The Arrival has been on there I've only sold a copy.
Yes I know, I've just advertised the chocolate competition and put the new price on Amazon. Well the chocolate competition still stands and there is no option on Amazon to make it free. Also it sells a few copies a day there so it's doing ok. And at the moment with wanting to get book 2 ready my major thought was - at least it might get more people looking forward to book 2. In the long run I write these books to be enjoyed and at least people are reading them.
And as all you fellow writers/readers know, writers are SUPPOSED to be eccentric! Or at least that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it. So feel free to grab a copy of either of my books (A wet & wild night is proving r-a-t-h-e-r popular) and if you have the time to pop a review up on Smashwords, I'd really darn appreciate it. Back to the book, chat to you all later : )

Aha!! Sian CAN breathe underwater!
*hee* now is that a cryptic line or what ;p Today is one of those days where ideas are coming hard and fast and I'm suddenly realizing the end of book two is approaching LOTS quicker than I anticipated. But don't get too excited by that statement *grin* because I'm not writing in chronological order it means I still have, oh (counts frantically in head) I'm going to say nine scenes to write?
At the moment I'm working on a scene involving water (had you guessed?) and so far today I've been googling on the composition of sea water and oxygen as well as phytoplankton and ancient and modern sea 'monsters' (i.e big bada boom sea critters - Fifth Element anyone ;p). As well as fish spawning, yeah not what I had in mind when I said this book contained sex scenes *snigger*. And I've come across two super cool links I must share! One is where I got the fantastic images with this post and the other was when I was trying to figure out if Sian would technically be able to breathe underwater (and no I'm not telling you more, if you've read The Arrival you'll at least understand why I'm pondering this possibility). breathe under water thingeeSuper cool pictures! So now I'm wondering, what crazy things have you googled in the name of writing research of late??

Tuesday Riddle! And it's official - I'm switching from Henry for Chris
Don't you just love how I'm on first name terms with them? *giggle* So yes, I've decided Chris Hemsworth is the better choice for Alek - he does the cheeky grin/smirk perfectly so now I just need to update my characters page!
It's Tuesday which means of course the Tuesday Riddle! You know the drill, first to solve the riddle wins a free copy of The Arrival (or A Wet & Wild night if preferred ;p). Good luck!
If your sock drawer has 6 black socks, 4 brown socks, 8 white socks, and 2 tan socks, how many socks would you have to pull out in the dark to be sure you had a matching pair?

Character Monday - Introducing Lieutenant Ignatius
How was everyone's weekends? We watched Thor and now I'm seriously reconsidering my choice for Alek (..sorry Henry..) cause OMG Chris Hemsworth is gorgeous! And I'm sure he could pull of black hair *grin* and for those interested Thor is a very entertaining, visually stunning (and not just him ;p) movie. Great for a non-thinking required flick you can just enjoy.
So what do you think? I reckon he could do black hair easily enough ;p
Okay for Lieutenant Ignatius I'm choosing Gerard Butler (*drool*) a fav actor that I'd happily pick for Alek too but he may be a little over playing a 25 yr old, even if Alek looks a bit older than his years. Now if you've read The Arrival you'll know the Lieutenant Ignatius is really only a secondary character in the book but he comes into his own in book two and three. An arrogant man, he's supremely proud of his heritage and his distant claim to the throne (scant and VERY distant - but there nevertheless). He tends to butt heads with Alek cause.. ooh I can't say - cursed spoilers!.. cause they have differing opinions ;pNow Lieutenant Ignatius (known as Iggy behind his back *hee*) is one of the three Lieutenants of the General Guard. Making Iggy an important sub-character in the BirthRight Trilogy. He likes to believe women should be seen and not heard so needless to say the girls just love him when they get introduced… And the feeling is very much mutual. He is a very honourable man, technically, and would do anything for his realm yadayada but his arrogance and utter disdain for the girls means he's in their 'not so fond' books and they take great delight in annoying the hell outta him. Especially because he's not at all subtle about his dislike, kinda like poking a caged badger..He features a lot more prominently in book two and I'm having fun working on his scenes currently. Obviously I chose Gerard as Iggy is very handsome - but of course he knows he is. And for the character development in the later books I know Gerard could play it perfectly *grin*Take care all!
