Help Me With a Name?
I recently pulled an old project out of my files and became re-energized by the story. The only thing is that I had originally wanted to title this story "Atlantis Awakening" but found that title was already taken. Now I'm looking for help in coming up with a title.
Story titles are very important to me, and my story often follows (more or less) along the path eluded to by the title I choose. So, let me explain a little bit of what this story will be about, a concept, if you will, to help you help me with a wonderful title.
The story is told (third person) mainly through the point of view of Chloe. She is a pasty-pink-skinned woman of Irish descent. She has always struggle with her weight but is comfortable in her own body. She is also recently divorced from a man who could not understand her career desires and personal needs. Chloe is an oceanographic geologist, and has worked hard to be accepted to take part in a study of the waters off the coast of Greece.
The story opens with Chloe suiting up and diving into the turquoise waters of the Mediterranean. While searching the unusual rock formations between the Islands of Crete and Santorini, she is attracted to a luminescent veil at the entrance to an underwater cave. upon approaching the cave, she is swept into it and the veil closes behind her as she is drawn by a strong current, deeper into the cave. She is knocked unconscious and, when she awakens, she is on the shore of a strange Island, and is rescued from a band of natives by a tall bronze-skinned man on a large white horse. Of course, she soon realizes she has landed in another time on the continent of Atlantis. The man, Evenor, tends to her as her wounds heal and then guides her on long journey to meet his mother, the queen and ruler as he desires to take Chloe as his mate. Cloe is only interested in finding her way back to her own time and place but begins to develop feelings for Evenor as they journey, and survive numerous obstacles. Their travels are hampered by strange weather events, and Evenorblames the God, Poseidon for their troubles.
Upon arriving in the capitol city, Chloe and Evenor not only find the queen, but Poseidon himself. Although the others are in fear and awe of Poseidon, Chloe sees his chariot in the clouds as a simple hovercraft powered by steam. After much debate and argument, the truth is revealed that Poseidon is, himself a victim of the strange veil. He merely came from a time further in the future than Chloe. His name is actually pronounced something more like: Pos i (first name) Don i (last name) but the natives simply called him what they can pronounce.
Now, in true romance fashion, Poseidon takes a liking to Chloe and decides he wants for himself. This sets up a nasty love triangle between Chloe, Evenor, and Poseidon. I won't give away the end but, if you have read anything about Atlantis according to Plato, then you might be able to guess what happens. Just a hint: Chloe becomes Cleito.
The only alternate name for this story I've come up with so far is, "Chloe's Odyssey." Kind of a play on the Lliad or Homer's Odyssey since she must make a journey. Keep in mind that this novel, in true Ellison James writing style, will have at least some erotic elements, along with explorations of Goddess worship, Female empowerment, Lesbian or bi-sexual acts, interracial, and BBW. It also crosses genre lines between Romance, Erotica, Fantasy, and Science Fiction.
So, what do you think? Have any great title ideas?

Prologue and Epilogue
Do you read prologues and epilogues in stories, or do you skip over them to get to the meat of the story?
I'm the kind of person that would normally skip the prologue, or not buy the book if I open the first few pages to find a prologue, but what about you?
In general, a prologue is a short introduction before the first chapter of a book to explain some history or detailed background that absolutely cannot be shown any other way throughout the book. The same thing applies with an epilogue. An epilogue would normally find good usage after the last chapter of a lengthy novel to help explain the fate of certain characters when any other form would prove boring to the reader.
I ask this question because I will soon publish a short story with both a prologue and epilogue. The story is told through the point of view of a scribe in fifteenth-century china. It is a bit of alternate history, I suppose, and that's where the prologue comes into play. The story will be titled "The Fifth Beauty" and features my main character, Azra, from my paranormal novel "Lovestruck Succubus." In this story, the actions of Azra, and the scribe, bring about the discovery and development of Lapsang Souchong tea, a highly sought-after black tea dried over pinewood fires.
Anyway, the prologue gives a brief history of the four ancient beauties of China. I suppose my story is a kind of erotic alternate history. Hey don't laugh. Just wait and see what Azra, my demon succubus character, does to James Morrison of the Doors to help bring about his demise! The epilogue in my story will also contain a brief history, but will tell about how the scribe became famous and rich, and his new tea became an expensive commodity.
Tell me what you think. Would you ever read a short erotic story that contains both a prologue AND an epilogue?

End of the World? I'll Keep Writing.
I felt obligated to post something today about the end of the world. According to Harold Camping, who also predicted this event in 1994, today, May 21st 2011 marks the day when all true believers will be taken up to heaven. His concept is that this event will begin somewhere, and then sweep across the world as if moving through time zones. I personally just wanted to post something referring to the end of the world so it could be picked up by Webbot, the forecasting tool originally designed for guessing stock trends and now used by the CIA because of its accuracy, and give it something else to think about.
For the rest of you, this is a great day to put off doing laundry, cleaning the garage or the bathroom, or paying the bills ... just in case.

Coming Soon - Window Treatment
Hang in there! It won't be long now. My latest spicy story "Window Treatment" is due for release in the next few weeks.
Wendy finds herself caught in an escalating spiral of voyeurism and exhibitionism when she mistakingly catches her across the street neighbors in an intimate moment. She cannot help but watch as they make passionate love, and soon finds she has a growing need of her own to fulfill.
Problem is, when she finally looks up from her self pleasure, she finds the two in the apartment across from her staring at her through a telescope and enjoying her solo activities. Well, two can play at this game, she thinks, and proceeds to buy a telescope of her own in hopes of catching them at their own dirty game and embarrassing them into minding their own business.
But, when she sets everything up and turns on the lights to announce she is watching them, it only seems to fuel their exhibitionism. Time to bring in the big guns. The next day, when her boyfriend returns from a business trip, she plans on putting on a little show of her own.
At some point, she really cannot remember when, the game becomes an addiction as she rushes home each night in hopes of watching the couple or performing with her boyfriend in front of them.
Just where is all of this leading to?
As you can see, I'm still working on the blurb. Good news is I may decide to offer this work free on Smashwords for a limited time. After that, it will go on sale on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and everywhere.

See What I'm Saying?
We've all heard about how every person learns or responds to stimulation in a different way. Some are visual, thus the expression "see what I'm saying." Some are kinesthetic and might talk about feelings. Others are more aural and either want to voice their opinions or learn through hearing.
Where am I going with all of this? Well, I want to ask readers how they respond to stimulation. I'm currently working on a story I will call "Window Treatment" about a woman who mistakingly sees a naked man in an apartment across from hers. My character, We'll call her Melissa for now, cannot help but continue to watch this hunky man as he engages in intimate activities with all the curtains open. This watching, or voyeurism leads to some very arousing stimulation on Melissa's part, and she engages in a little self-stimulation prompted by what she sees.
She realizes that the man knows she is watching at some point, and is even more turned on by the fact that her neighbors know, and continue in their activities. This brings on her competitive nature, and she soon involves her boyfriend in the action, purchases a telescope to match the one the other couple are using to watch her, and ups the anty by engaging in increasingly raucious activity such as plastering herself against the window while engaged in, I'll just say, intimate relations. This continues until things are just about to get out of hand.
But all of this leads to questions. We all know that men are very visual stimulated, but what about women. Surely, a woman can look at a man, and be aroused by what she sees.
What say you, readers? Would you find spying on someone in their intimate moments arousing, or disgusting? Is this a fantasy you might enjoy reading about? Tell me your thoughts.

New Cover
I'm introducing a new cover for my novel, Lovestruck Succubus.
This cover will only be available through Barnes & Noble. I'm running it as a sort of test to see how (if at all) it affects sales. I also think this cover illustrates the dominant nature of the main character better, and gives the potential reader just a hint of the paranormal basis of the story.
After careful consideration, I feel the original cover may be too dark, and the Atlanta skyline in the foreground doe little to give an indication of the content of the story, except that it takes place in a city.
What do you think? Is the new cover appealing as placed in the erotic fiction section? Please comment with your thoughts.
