The 1974 Kidnapping Of Jack Teich
Teich lay handcuffed and chained to the walls of a closet in the Bronx with a medical bandage wrapped around his head to cover his eyes. His captors demanded that his wife, Janet, drop a bag with $750,000 (the equivalent of four million dollars in todays currency) in a locker at Penn Station, making the Jack Teich ransom one of the highest in U.S. history at the time. FBI and Nassau County police detectives spent over a year before finally uncovering the meticulously planned kidnapping ploy hatched by radical mastermind Richard Warren Williams. The FBI internally dubbed the Jack Teich kidnapping operation Jacknap.
The real-life crime drama that followed proved stranger than fiction, involving a tense across-the-country manhunt, a trailer in California stuffed with tens of thousands of ransom dollars hidden inside, a contentious jury trial that dominated NYC headlines for months; a guilty verdict that was overturned twenty-one years later on a controversial technicality; a retrial stymied by a mysterious fire that incinerated court records; and a civil verdict ruling that the kidnapper pay Jack Teich back the ransom money, plus interest. Operation Jacknap tells the incredible true crime story that continues even now. Indeed, as of this writing, no one knows where the majority of the ransom money is located.

The Hare Krishna Murders - Author Henry Doktorski
The 1986 murder of Hare Krishna devotee Steven Bryant (Sulochan dasa) was arguably the darkest moment in the fifty-one year history of the International Society for Krishna Consciousnessa new branch of the Chaitanya-Bengali-Vaishnava religion founded in New York City in 1966 by an Indian spiritual teacher and guru, His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada (1896-1977). A mere nine years after the disappearance of this beloved spiritual father, one of their own was hunted down and assassinated. This brutal killing was achieved through a cooperative effort by spiritual leaders, senior managers and hit men enforcers from West Virginia, Ohio, and Southern California ISKCON temples.
The murdered whistle-blower had discovered many secrets and threatened to reveal to the world the immoral acts and criminal dealings of a set of self-appointed, illegitimate successors to Swami Prabhupada: a corrupt oligarchy of new ISKCON gurus. He had also, perhaps foolishly, advocated using violence against the gurus to evict them from their posts. ISKCON leaders took his threats seriously, and they hunted down and assassinated the passionate reformer. How did the peaceful, shaven-headed, saffron-clad Hare Krishna devotees regress from their blissful activities of chanting, dancing, and selling incense in the streets to this?
Rayshard Brooks Death Ruled A Homicide After Being Shot By Atlanta Police
On this episode Jim discusses the shooting of Rayshard Brooks by an Atlanta Police Officer. There are distinct differences between this case and the shooting of George Floyd, but it appears that the use of deadly force was not be justified as the death of Brooks has been ruled as a homicide. Protesters returned to the scene of the Wendy's restaurant Saturday evening and burned it to the ground. A CNN news crew was attacked by rioters while attempting to video the demonstration that led to the restaurant being set ablaze. Jim also discusses the 'new science' on Covid-19 and why people continue to cling to outdated standards and advice and how people are unknowingly throwing away debit cards with thousands of dollars of stimulus money on them.

How To Cancel Your Timeshare
Ten million Americans own timeshares and reports are that most are not happy. The number that want to get rid of their one week vacation condo is as high as 85 percent! There are so many people that want out, that there are dozens of firms offering timeshare cancellation services. So-called 'timeshare exit firms seem successful at what they do, but pricey (as much as $4,000 for their help).
What Is The Problem With Timeshares?
I know people that treasure and use their timeshare, so why are so many people unhappy? The biggest issue is the annual maintenance fee, which can be well over $1,000. So, even if you own the timeshare without a mortgage, you must come up with the annual fee. When you consider that each vacation condo has 52 weeks of ownership over the course of a year, fees this high are outrageous. I do not understand how the management can justify $52,000 or more in costs to maintain a single condo unit and its share of resort amenities. The free vacation they promised you turns out to not to be free at all.
Some people are thrilled with their Timeshare ownership because they prefer deluxe accommodations when they vacation. These condos are much more than a hotel room. In fact, the cost to rent a two or three-bedroom unit (common in resorts like this) is hundreds of dollars per night. So, if you make an apple to apple comparison, there still is a lot of value. Because these units are so large they can accommodate two families, which is another way to defray the cost (invite another family to go along with you on vacation and ask them to contribute toward the annual costs).
How To Cancel Your Timeshare
Before shelling out thousands of dollars to a timeshare exit firm, examine your other less costly options -
Contact The Resort And Ask Them To Take Your Unit Back
Some resorts have programs in place to allow you to cancel your contract and deed back your unit.
Sell Your Vacation Condo
If you have already paid off the mortgage and want out from under the maintenance fees, consider selling. There are plenty of sites online that will list your condo for sale, including eBay. Be careful not to get scammed by paying a hefty listing fee of hundreds of dollars just to list your timeshare for sale. Legit listing firms will not ask for large upfront sums just to list your unit.
Use An Attorney
Rather than using an expensive timeshare exit firm, consider getting help from a local attorney. A smart way to do this is through a low-cost legal plan like LegalShield. (Full disclosure: I have been a member for twenty years and am an affiliate as well). Timeshare exit firms typically assert a claim that the buyer was pressured to make the purchase, that there was inadequate disclosure of the ongoing costs, and the inducement that it was a wonderful investment was fraudulent. You dont need to pay $4,000 to for an attorney to write a letter demanding cancellation of the contract. LegalShield is only $25 per month for unlimited access to attorneys by phone, a great option for a lot of things, including help in a situation like this.
Final Thoughts
I am not opposed to hiring a timeshare exit firm, but the cost seems excessive to me. If you want to avoid the annual fees, consider renting out your timeshare and recovering the costs that way (many resorts even have on-site rental programs). There are countless other options for advertising your rental such as Airbnb and RedWeek. As a last option, consider taking a fresh look at what you have and using it. I have relatives that love their timeshares and trade out to new resorts each year. They have had years of wonderful vacation memories and make full use it. Maybe it was not one of your smartest decisions, but what's done is done. Making the best of things might be the wisest option you have.
Helping you make the most of Gods money!

Incredible True Stories Of Angels And How They Serve As God's Messengers
What are angels? For many people, the word prompts images of glowing, winged, female-type creatures who enlighten, nurture, and guide people here on earth. Some believe them to be spirit guides or benefactors, while others see them as mere protectors. Many people believe that they can be summoned or beckoned at the will of humans, while others do not believe in their existence at all. But, what does the Bible say that they are? Envision around you, day and night, a valiant, thriving battle between good and evil, raging within a shrouded jurisdiction. This army surrounds you each step you take, intervenes on your behalf, and wages spiritual warfare when the human soul is at stake. Angels are the servants of the Almighty God: His messengers, agents of His will, and silent guardians who keep watch when you think you are alone.
