All in all, I'm pleased with the review. A few of the story details listed in the synopsis are incorrect, and the reviewer seemed to have an issue with "numerous distracting scenes, which at the end, leaves the book with important plot strands unresolved." As a reader myself, I can understand this point of view. However, as this is the first novel in a large series, let me assure you that all plots will be resolved in the end. With such a large story to tell, fitting it all into one book just isn't possible.

My eBook distributor (Smashwords) has been working on a deal to supply to Amazon, but they haven't finalized anything yet.  Meanwhile, I kept reading that many authors have been doing quite well selling through Amazon's Kindle Direct Publishing.  So I decided not to wait, and to move ahead with publishing directly to Amazon.

Outstanding! Robert McKee offers a wealth of practical wisdom for screenwriters and authors alike. The principles of telling a story are applicable to many different mediums. Throughout this book, I resonated with the instruction and found myself thinking back on movies and books that I've either liked or disliked. Now I know why I formed the opinions that I did. I can honestly say that I'm a more-intelligent reader and movie-viewer than I was before. Mckee has a way of saying what I feel, but haven't been able to articulate. Story is a must-read for any author!

The Awakened Ebook Distribution

Good news!

The ebook version of my novel, The Awakened, has been approved for Premium Distribution at Smashwords.com.  This means that in a few weeks, my novel will be available for sale through Apple, Barnes & Noble, Sony, Kobo, Angus & Robertson Australia (powered by Kobo), Whitcoulls New Zealand (powered by Kobo), the Diesel eBook Store and other distribution outlets.  Smashwords is still working with Amazon on some technical integration details, but my ebook will also be sold there when the deal is finalized.
