Once more for the record

Obviously Barack Obama has wiped his ass on his campaign promises. That's yesterday's news. Americans, demand jazzy new and ever more shocking "news" daily, or else they fall asleep before their TV sets face down in their sausage pizzas from Brooklyn to Beaumont (or their fat free vegan lentil soup, as the case may be on the West Coast).

MP3 file of Joe on the Jeff Farias Show

When it comes to being interviewed, one of my very favorite radio hosts is Jeff Farias. Most liberal radio interviewers get caught up in the Empire's media noise, and become part of the self-referential circle jerk of facts and figures.

The Annotated Obama

About the state of the union address, there was the off chance (OK, vain hope) that Obama might come out swinging in the wake of the Massachusetts massacre and the Supreme's recent sale of Congress to corporations. As in: The senator from Wal-Mart now has the floor.

Tea Baggers are our canary in the coal mine

The most retrograde or ignorant of McCarthyites in the 50's or New Right activists of the 70s and 80's would not have attacked their very mainstream adversaries for being both Communists and Nazis at the same time.

Joe interviewed by Ian Masters, KPFK

On Sunday, Jan 24, I was a guest on Ian Masters' Background Briefing radio show, KPFK, Los Angeles. Ian's show is noted for its hard authoritative analysis by America's leading political pundits and experts. Being neither, naturally I shotgunned my way through the interview.

Cars fed on corn, people fed on horseshit

Don't let the ideologues, demagogues and half-assed spoiled little middle class jerks who call themselves socialists in this country fool you. Socialism has to do with man's our innate longing for justice, the undying heart of man, and all that is generous and good in that heart.

When did America become a goddamn homeland?

What the hell? When did America become a goddamn "homeland"? Yeah, I know, W. Shrub and "Five Deferments" Cheney. They gave us that goddamn Nazi Germany/Soviet Union term for what used to be America.

Bass Boats and Queer Marriage

For both political camps, high dudgeon over "the vanishing middle class" is supposed to represent some sort of "new populism." Not that the populace disagrees with them, mainly because the populace, if we are referring to the genuine America populace, hasn't the slightest notion of the definition of populism.

Taking Tea with the Lizards

Americans at both ends of the political spectrum are finally wising up to the need for a third party. Even if it is a third party within their own party, which is no third party at all, of course.
