LILO & STITCH Live-Action Movie Sets 2025 Release Date, Reveals Looks at Stitch
Get ready to welcome your favorite blue alien back to the screen. As we learned in 2018, Disney is making a live-action version of its 2002 animated film Lilo & Stitch. The story follows the alien Stitch as he crashes on Earth and befriends Lilo, an orphan. It’s the kind of movie that makes you laugh out loud before making you cry. This is why it’s perfect that Disney has hired Marcel the Shell with Shoes On director Dean Fleischer-Camp to helm the live-action Lilo & Stitch. Additionally, Lilo & Stitch set its release date for May 23, 2025.
The movie found its lead in newcomer Maia Kealoha. Kealoha will star as Lilo in the movie. Disney has also shared our first looks at live-action Stitch. Take a look below.

In addition, Sydney Elizabeth Agudong has been cast as Nani, Courtney B. Vance has been cast as Cobra Bubbles, and Kaipot Dudoit will play David Kawena. A couple of new characters will also appear in the movie. Billy Magnussen and Zach Galifianakis have also come aboard the film. Finally, it seems likely that Chris Sanders, the original voice of Stitch, will also return for the live-action movie.

Nerdist confirmed only the directorial news in an interview with Fleischer-Camp. Fleischer-Camp couldn’t share any further details about the upcoming live-action Lilo & Stitch movie, but he did confirm his involvement. He noted, “I’ve been pitching it on it for months. I love that movie so much. I will work my ass off to get it right and to make a great live-action movie out of it.”

Fleischer-Camp told me how much he loves Stitch’s line at the end of the movie, “This is my family. I found it, all on my own. It’s little, and broken, but still good.” He calls it, “One of the most profound, moving lines in the history of cinema.” Earlier reports connected Jon M. Chu to the project, but the reports never panned out.
Chris Sanders and Dean DeBlois wrote and directed the animated movie about six-year-old Lilo, her teenage sister Nani, and the blue alien Lilo named Stitch. We hope to see all of our favorite characters in the film. I especially can’t wait to see who they cast as Cobra Bubbles.
And if you’d like to see why Fleischer-Camp is the perfect choice for live-action Lilo & Stitch, Marcel the Shell with Shoes On is now available to watch.

Get Ready for Bunny-Man—Your New Favorite Movie Superhero
Yes. It’s true. Bunny-Man is a new superhero and he is coming to our screens soon in his very own movie. But who is Bunnyman, you might ask? Well, he’s a fetching anonymous multimillionaire superhero who fights evil…and yes, goes around dressing as a leather-clad bunny vigalante. It’s like Batman, but with less flying/brooding and more hopping. Honestly, we feel obsessed with the Bunny-Man movie and this costume. No notes from us. And we’re even hoppier to hear that Bunny-Man may even feature in a trilogy of movies. It pays to be a bunny.

Bunny-Man is actually an Italian superhero movie. And its cast currently includes Michele Morrone, Franco Nero, Ana Golja, Mike Tyson, Bella Thorne, and James Franco. Deadline reveals, the Bunny-Man movie’s synopsis. It shares, “The plot of Bunny-Man is said to involve an anonymous multimillionaire superhero who strikes against evil forces while wearing a rabbit mask. He is driven by the desire to avenge his sister who committed suicide after being attacked, images of which wound up on the internet.” Little else is known about the film or its cast at present. But hopefully we can know more soon. We can’t wait to hare all about it. Mostly, we’re just curious to know which villains Bunny-Man will fight. Maybe a snake-themed foe?
Apparently some kind of musical single will also release around the movie. Producer Andrea Iervolino shared, “I believe Bunny-Man will revolutionize the way we think of superheroes. This character embodies both mystery and modernity, not just in his story but in how the audience relates to him. It’s a privilege to produce Italy’s first superhero franchise, and I’m confident it will leave a lasting impact on the global market.”
Welcome to the table Italy’s superheroes. If Bunny-Man is indication of what’s in store for us, we welcome it.

We Have Our First Look at ANDOR Season 2
The first season of Star Wars: Andor ended in 2022, and fans have been patiently waiting to learn the fate of its lead character, Cassian Andor. Well, not his ultimate fate–we saw Rogue One, we know how it ends for Diego Luna’s rebel hero. But we are still dying to know how he got from where we left him off at the end of season one of Andor to the determined rebel warrior of Rogue One.
At D23 Brasil, we got our first look at Cassian Andor from Andor season 2.

He’s looking as grim as ever, but we appreciate the coat flowing slightly in the wind. We can’t wait to get a fuller look at the second season of the Star Wars show.

Here’s everything we know so far about the upcoming second (and last) season of Andor.
Andor’s Season Two PlotThe end of Andor’s first season saw Cassian finally embrace becoming a true fighter for Luthen’s cause. All putting him one step closer to the character we first met in Rogue One. Showrunner Tony Gilroy has confirmed that they will split up the second season into four three-episode installments. Each of these three-episode chapters would cover a 12-month period. A year that is crucial to the development of the Rebel Alliance.

In Andor season two we’ll see how Cassian met his trusty droid buddy K-2SO. We’ll also visit the Rebel Base on Yavin IV, a location familiar well-known to viewers of A New Hope and Rogue One. We also expect that early on in season two, Mon Mothma and Cassian Andor will finally meet face-to-face. Thanks to set photos, many fans believe Queen Amidala’s homeworld of Naboo will play a role in the second season as well. Ultimately, season two will cover five years, dovetailing right into Rogue One’s beginning.
Behind-the-Scenes
Andor season one creator and showrunner Tony Gilroy returns for season two, closing the chapter on Cassian’s story. Directing episodes in the second season are Ariel Kleiman, Janus Metz, and Alonso Ruizpalacios. Kleiman is directing six of the 12 episodes overall. Tony Gilroy, Dan Gilroy, Beau Willimon, and Tom Bissell are the known writers for the second season episodes. Delays from the SAG-AFTRA strike and the WGA strike caused the series to delay shooting for months. But shooting commenced as soon as the last strike ended.
Andor’s Cast
Of course, Diego Luna once again portrays our titular hero Cassian Andor. Joining him once more are Stellan Skarsgård as Luthen Rael, and Genevieve O’Reilly as Senator Mon Mothma. Benjamin Bratt is said to join the series in an undisclosed role. Rogue One actor Forest Whitaker returns as Saw Gerrera, as does Alan Tudyk as the droid K-2SO. Ben Mendelsohn is rumored to return along with other as yet undisclosed Rogue One cast members.
Even though it appeared his days were numbered by the end of season one, Andy Serkis has hinted that he’s returning as former prisoner Kino Loy. Also returning is Kyle Soller as Syril Karn, Denise Gough as ISB agent Deedra Meero, and Adria Arjona as rebel Bix Caleen. Faye Marsay (Vel Sartha), Varada Sethu (Cinta Kaz), Elizabeth Dulau (Kleya Marki), and James McArdle (Timm Karlo) round out the cast for season two.
One character we did not expect to see again was Director Orson Krennic as played by Ben Mendelsohn. Previously, the actor said Disney had not contacted him about being in the series. However, The Playlist recently interviewed director Alonso Ruizpalacio, one of season two’s directors, who spilled the beans, unwittingly, it seems.

The Playlist details, “[Ruizpalacio] said directing episodes of the series was a treat, especially directing heavyweight actors like, ‘Stellan Skarsgård, Forest Whitaker, and Ben Mendelsohn,’ presumably not realizing he was revealing something of a spoiler (and sorry to blow up your spot).”
In addition to Mendelsohn’s return, we also learned that K-2SO will also be back in Andor‘s second season. Ben Mendelsohn’s Andor season two appearance as Krennic was confirmed at Disney’s D23 event.
Andor’s Release DateAlthough originally announced as returning in the summer 2024, thanks to various delays, it now looks like Star Wars: Andor’s second season won’t arrive until 2025.

Ryan Reynolds and Shawn Levy Discuss the Deadpool Corps Scene in Commentary Track Clip From DEADPOOL & WOLVERINE (Exclusive)
Deadpool & Wolverine will make its Disney+ debut on November 12, and when it does, the record-setting movie is arriving with something special for fans. The streaming site will also feature a bonus commentary from director Shawn Levy and Ryan Reynolds. What kind of insights and behind-the-scenes goodies will the two provide about the making of their smash hit? You can find out right now, right here. Nerdist has an exclusive, extra-long clip from Levy and Reynold’s commentary track for Deadpool & Wolverine‘s Deadpool Corps scene. It includes stories about the origin of “doggles,” unexpected laughs, lucky head explosions, being the worst parent in the multiverse, and more.
Do you detest Nicepool as much as Deadpool Prime? Well, you’ve got nothing on the man who actually played the kind Variant. Ryan Reynolds shares his extreme hatred for the super Canadian version of his character in this clip.
That’s just one of the many fantastic tidbits Reynolds and Levy reveal in their Deadpool & Wolverine commentary for the movie’s big Deadpool Corps scene, which also features Matthew McConaughey, Blake Lively, Nathan Fillion, and Reynolds’ own kids. The director and star also talked about how many of this sequence’s best lines were improvised, why they insisted on spending extra money for an Eric Carman song, and the origins of the Deadpool Corps itself. Some of the Variants came straight from Marvel Comics, which Levy says he immersed himself in after joining the movie. Others, like Welshpool, were Reynolds’ own creation.

The best part of this commentary, though, comes when Reynolds admits he pushed his own daughter Inez to say one of the film’s most vulgar lines. She didn’t want to initially but changed her mind when they tried to find someone else to say it. So, uh, that’s better? Maybe?
Honestly, any potential fallout from having your child say that line is an issue for Inez’s parents to deal with. But knowing they will just makes this already great scene even better.
If you enjoyed this taste of Deadpool & Wolverine‘s filmmaker commentary, we once again remind you to check out the entire thing when the MCU film lands on Disney+ on November 12.

Macaulay Culkin Joins Cast of FALLOUT Season 2
One of the biggest surprises of the year was how good Prime’s Fallout series was. The pitch-perfect mixture of disgusting gore, wild absurdism, and post-apocalyptic drama, the video game adaptation received a whopping 16 Emmy nominations. Naturally a second season announcement came almost immediately after the first wrapped. We know the show plans to return “as fast as humanly possible,” and one indication is Deadline‘s report that Macaulay Culkin would be joining the cast in a recurring role.

So far we don’t know much at all about the role, and no one has commented. However, Deadline says the actor will be playing a “crazy genius-type” character. You know, those types? In the Fallout world, it’s not that big of a stretch.
Culkin is, of course, the former behemoth child star whose hit movies included Home Alone, My Girl, and The Good Son. He’s actually already acted opposite Fallout star Walton Goggins, playing Baby Billy’s son Harmon Freeman in HBO’s The Righteous Gemstones in season two.
Fallout season two will continue on with the story and characters of season one. It will also shift some, if not all, of the action to New Vegas as Lucy MacLean (Ella Purnell) and the Ghoul (Goggins) head there to look for her shady father (Kyle MacLachlan). We’re excited to see Culkin join that band of wastelanders.

Robert Pattinson Dies Again and Again in Bong Joon Ho’s MICKEY 17 Trailer, Film Delayed Again
Parasite came out in 2019. That’s a lot longer than it feels, right? Not if you’re one of the many moviegoers who’ve been dying to see what director Bong Joon Ho will do as a followup to his Best Picture winner. It turns out he’ll be making Robert Pattinson die. A lot. The first trailer for Mickey 17 introduces an “expendable” employee in the most literal sense. His job requires him to give his life to his employer. And then he has to give it again. And then again, and again… in a film that looks like it will be more than worth the long wait it took to get another Bong Joon Ho movie.
Everything about this trailer is perfect. Visually it looks incredible. It also features an amazing premise, as it’s based on Edward Ashton’s novel Mickey 7. And it also boasts an incredible cast that will excel in a sci-fi comedy that will also deliver scathing social commentary. It’s basically everything we want in a movie. Also, if you’re a huge Robert Pattinson fan, it essentially has more than what you want since it has extra hims.
In addition to its not-so-expendable star, the movie also features Naomi Ackie (The Rise of Skywalker), Steven Yeun (Nope), Toni Collette (Hereditary), and Mark Ruffalo (Poor Things).

Bong Joon Ho also produces the film along with an equally impressive group. That includes fellow producer and longtime collaborator Dooho Choi (Okja, Snowpiercer). The film’s other producers include Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner, who both worked on Moonlight and 12 Years a Slave.
Mickey 17 was slated to come to theaters in the U.S. on January 31, 2025. But now it has again shifted its release date and will release on April 18, 2025. Apparently, this is because the upcoming Michael Jackson biopic Michael, moved to the fall, clearing a space in IMAX theaters over the holiday weekend. Will it prove to be as successful as Parasite? That’s a tall task for any employee, but we’re dying to find out.

Will STRANGER THINGS 5 End in the Good Version of the Upside Down?
Stranger Things 4‘s emotional “Dear Billy,” the episode where Max escaped Vecna’s clutches, showed where the Upside Down came from. It’s not just a dark realm of monsters that exists on its own. It’s a mirror dimension of our world devoid of hope and warmth because it’s the tangible manifestation of human suffering. It exists—always has and always will—because human pain exists. That revelation was horrifying yet hopeful, because as I wrote, “There cannot be light without darkness, nor pain without joy. We would not feel guilt like Max, or experience grief like Nancy, if we did not also feel love.” And if our negative emotions can physically materialize as the Upside Down, that means our positive emotions can materialize, too. What would that dimension actually look like? Stranger Things 5 might show us in the show’s series finale titled “The Rightside Up.”

On its own, the name “The Rightside Up” is enough to conjure up the idea of the Upside Down’s counterpart. That series finale title implies the show’s sinister mirror realm of darkness has an opposite utopian mirror dimension full of light. It especially seems conceivable, maybe even likely, because season four already raised that possibility. The show’s fourth installment marked the first time any characters even questioned where the Upside Down came from or why it exists. We got answers as we learned about Henry Creel/Vecna, Max’s own descent into his realm, and how “all evil must have a home.”
If all evil, in all its many forms, must have a home, so must all that is good. And if evil manifests as its own dimension in the Upside Down, good can/must also do the same, for you cannot have one without the other. Nothing can be bad if nothing is good. The place where good manifests might very well be The Rightside Up. Another mirror world created by humans who live in a plane where all emotions exist.

If that parallel world of goodness—a place of light created by mankind’s hope, love, dreams, joy, and gratitude—is as real as the Upside Down, we can imagine what it looks like. The Rightside Up might be everything Henry Creel rejected in life, a repudiation of everything his home in the Upside Down stands for. It might be where our idea of Heaven/Utopia/Paradise comes from. Or it might just be as simple and as lovely as Hawkins, Indiana on the most beautiful day of the year, only on that day the Sun never sets and no one ever feels pain. But it’s not what the Rightside Up looks like that could matter most to fans. It’s who we might find there.
The main cast heading into Strangers Things 5 has survived years of fighting demogorgons, the Mind Flayer, Russian soldiers, and their own government. But many of their friends, allies, neighbors, and loved ones have not. Benny, Barb, Bob, Billy, Chrissy, Alexei, Eddie, Eleven’s fellows students, and more have all died during this interdimensional battle brought on by Cold War enemies. Each death has made the world a little darker and a little sadder. Their losses have fed Vecna because each loss has increased human suffering for those left behind. And yet, all of the good they represented did not get consumed by the Upside Down. It couldn’t have, because those things can’t exist there. The best parts of them went somewhere else.

So where did all their love and goodness go? More importantly where did they go? The answer to both seems as lovely as a land of monsters seems terrible.
Stranger Things 5 will end the story of Hawkins, Indiana’s brush with the ultimate darkness. It might do so in the most hopeful way. It could show love and goodness manifest the same as hate and evil in a place defined by beauty and joy. And that might be where we learn the many characters who died didn’t see their own stories end. They might have left their loved ones feeling upside down when they left the world, but they ended up in a place that is rightside up.

AGATHA ALL ALONG Hints at More Seasons, Submitting as Comedy Series
Award season categories for certain shows always spark contention. I’m looking at you, The Bear, which is apparently a comedy series. Ahh yes, the extremely funny show with the most anxiety-inducing holiday episode of all time. Disney+ is making us scratch our heads by submitting Agatha All Along for the upcoming award season right now, but not as a limited/anthology series, instead propping it up as a comedy.

So why would this be a big deal? Well, award show categories reveal insights because they use specific parameters to include shows under certain banners. Marvel Television Studios is submitting Agatha All Along as a comedy series to the Golden Globes, Screen Actors Guild Awards, and Emmys, according to Variety.
Other Disney+ shows competed under miniseries categories, including Echo and The Book of Boba Fett. It could be telling that Agatha All Along is not being marketed as one. The Television Academy’s 76th Emmy Awards Rules and Procedure guide goes over what makes a limited/anthology series.

“Limited Series is defined as a program with two (2) or more episodes with a total running time of at least 150 program minutes that tells a complete, non-recurring story. The story arc must be completely resolved within its season, with no on-going storyline and/or main characters in subsequent seasons. Subsequent seasons of a Limited Series must cover completely new ground, requiring no knowledge of the events of the previous season.
Anthology Series is defined as a program with two (2) or more episodes that tells complete, nonrecurring story in each “episode,” and does not have an on-going storyline and/or main characters in subsequent episodes; the program may be linked thematically across all episodes.”

Even though there has been no official renewal announcement from Disney or Marvel, the show’s decision to opt out of the limited series category suggests that Agatha’s story isn’t finished yet. The popular FX series Shogun officially announced another season to compete in the drama categories. It’s also possible that they proved to the Television Academy that the show is going past a season to compete.
The show will compete with critically acclaimed shows like ABC’s Abbott Elementary and FX’s The Bear (still not a comedy). It also positions leading actor Kathryn Hahn, who plays Agatha, to go against Quinta Brunson, Ayo Edebiri, and Jean Smart, who all won Golden Globes for “Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy.” If Hahn earns a Golden Globe nomination, it will be her first. It would also serve as a good precursor for the show’s run at the Emmys.

Marvel Is OBSESSED with Channing Tatum as Gambit After DEADPOOL & WOLVERINE
We were all super excited to see Channing Tatum finally get his day in the sun as Gambit in Deadpool & Wolverine. But will that lead to more action for the actor as the beloved X-Men character? Well, Channing Tatum, for one, sure hopes so. He shared with Variety that “he’s already told Marvel he still wants to make it happen.” It being a standalone Gambit movie starring, of course, Tatum. He notes, “I’ve of course I’ve said it. I’ve been saying I want it for the last 10 years… It’s in Bob Iger and Kevin Feige’s hands. I pray to God.”

Well, that sounds like some pretty intense wanting to us. With the success of Deadpool & Wolverine and the love Channing Tatum’s Gambit is receiving, who knows what’s around the corner? Ryan Reynolds recently shared some positive comments on the topic, noting that Marvel is obsessed with Channing Tatum in the role of Gambit. Reynolds said, “I honestly don’t know what goes on behind closed doors in the bookkeeping sessions at Marvel, but I do know that they’re obsessed with him in that role… It’s kind of like the same situation I went through. Once you show that it works well, that’s really what they need. Sometimes, they just need to see it in action.” Nothing is set in stone, but it sounds like Tatum will likely have at least some kind of second go-around as the MCU’s Gambit.
Meanwhile, on Instagram, Tatum shared some sincere reflections on finally getting to play Gambit in Deadpool & Wolverine. He notes, “I sat in the audience when Ryan showed his first peek of Deadpool 1 to the world and I think I ran back stage right after and found him and I think I just hugged him and was like holy shit you did it man. It’s perfect. I didn’t know him really at all back then. But since then I can say that there is almost no one that has had my back in this industry more than Ryan. I thought I had lost Gambit forever. But he fought for me and Gambit. I will owe him probably forever. Cause I’m not sure how I could ever do something that would be equal to what this has meant to me. I love ya buddy. Shawn Levy as well. Truly such a brilliant creator on every single level. All things happen for a reason. I’m so grateful to be in this movie. It’s a masterpiece in my opinion. And just pure bad ass joy. I was literally screaming in the theater. LFG!!”

Most recently, the actor also offered us some behind-the-scenes shots of himself as the character, celebrating the movie’s success.
Memories made… flashing back to when someone let me dress up as my favorite superhero.

This level of pure Gambit love that Channing Tatum exudes honestly has us in our feelings. Get this man a Gambit movie, stat!

MASS EFFECT TV Series Officially in Development at Amazon MGM Studios
Back in 2021, Amazon was in talks to develop a Mass Effect TV series. The popular video game franchise from BioWare has been around since 2007. Set in the future, the military drama puts players in the middle of humanity trying to find its place among aliens out in the galaxy. And now, we finally have an update about the adaptation. A Mass Effect TV series is officially in development at Amazon MGM Studios, according to Variety.

Daniel Casey, writer on the ninth Fast & Furious movie (F9), will write and executive produce the Mass Effect TV series. The video game franchise is currently comprised of five different games, with the most recent one releasing in 2017. Mass Effect 5 is also currently in development. We don’t know yet which of the Mass Effect games the TV series will adapt or if it will adapt any game at all. But, for ourselves, we’d love to see a live-action version of Commander Shepard and Garrus, no matter which plot they find themselves in.
Regardless of the story, this Mass Effect series has the potential to be a gritty sci-fi in the style of Battlestar Galactica, but with aliens. Television adaptations of popular games have been gaining traction recently, with The Last of Us seemingly leading the way. Of note, Prime Video’s Fallout has been especially well-received. The success of Fallout makes us feel excited to see what a Mass Effect series from Amazon could look like. We’ll share more details when we have them.
