Sadie Sink Joins SPIDER-MAN 4, Could She Play the MCU’s Jean Grey?
Stranger Things‘ Sadie Sink is officially joining the MCU’s Spider-Man 4, where she’ll co-star alongside Tom Holland. While we have no official word about who Sadie Sink will play in Spider-Man 4, Sink has long been rumored to be a top choice to play the MCU’s Jean Grey, one of the strongest and most beloved characters from Marvel’s X-Men. We hadn’t really considered the MCU would introduce any new members of the X-Men in a Spider-Man movie, but we suppose it’s totally possible. It’s also very possible that Sadie Sink is playing a totally different character in the MCU movie. There’s no lack of redheads in Marvel, and specifically in Spider-Man. What we do know, at least according to Deadline, is that Sink’s role on Spider-Man 4 “will be a significant one.”
Given that the world doesn’t remember Peter Parker in the MCU, it stands to reason that Spider-Man will need to make some new friends, including, it seems, Sadie Sink’s mystery character. Spider-Man 4 will release on July 31, 2026. So, we have plenty of time to speculate about who Sink will play and how that character will fit into the world. The movie is in the capable hands of director Destin Daniel Cretton. And, of course, Sony’s Amy Pascal and Marvel president Kevin Feige are producing.

Going from Stranger Things to the MCU feels like a pretty good move for Sink to make. And we know that Stranger Things‘ Lucas, Dustin, Mike, and Will would have their jaws hanging wide open if they knew Max would get to play Jean Grey someday. (Or any other Marvel character for that matter.) We can’t wait to see what Sadie Sink will do in Spider-Man 4. Hopefully, we’ll get to see more from the movie sooner rather than later. We guess if we really want to know who Sadie Sink is playing in Spider-Man, we just need to corner Tom Holland.

JOHN WICK 5 In the Works, But Could It Happen Without Keanu Reeves?
John Wick: Chapter 4 recently dominated the box office, with Keanu Reeves delivering hours of action. And we loved it here at Nerdist. The fourth installment in the successful John Wick franchise was meant to be the end of Baba Yaga’s tale. And honestly, he deserves some rest, considering how quickly all of this mess went down for him. That’s a lot of pain and killing in a span of only a few months. But the smell of success is an intoxicating scent that lures executives in for more. So, it looks more and more likely that John Wick 5 could happen in the future, which is interesting considering how the fourth film neatly wraps up Wick’s story.
But ultimately, we will have to wait and see what happens.

Will there be a John Wick 5? It looks like John Wick 5 is at least in early development at Lionsgate. At a Lionsgate’s earnings call discussing Q4 of 2023, Motion Picture Group chairman Joe Drake addressed the John Wick franchise (via Comicbook.com). Not only did he confirm there were video games and TV series spinoffs in the works for John Wick, but he noted that John Wick 5 was actually in development. Well, we aren’t surprised. Here is his full quote:
We’re now moving across that franchise, not just in the AAA video game space, but looking at what the regular cadence of spin-offs, television really growing that universe so that there is a steady cadence of a franchise that there’s clear appetite by the audience. What is official is that, as you know, Ballerina is the first spinoff that comes out next year. We’re in development on three others, including John Wick 5 and including television series. The Continental will be airing soon. And so, we’re building out the world and when that five movie comes, will be organic — will be organically grown out of how we’re starting to tell those stories. But you can rely on a regular cadence of John Wick.
Most recently, Lionsgate EVP and head of Global Products and Experiences Jenefer Brown recently spoke to Comicbook.com in March 2025 and shared, “Up next, of course, is Ballerina, which is our first spin-off movie and [we] can’t wait for that to release to the world. Of course, we’ve announced we’re working on a fifth John Wick film. I think there are more spinoffs to come, a TV series, video game. We’ve shared that we’re developing a fifth John Wick film. [John Wick] may be [dead]. We are all on bated breath waiting to find out.”
Could a John Wick 5 Happen Without Keanu Reeves?Contemporaneously with Lionsgate confirming John Wick 5 is actively on its plate, star Keanu Reeves is singing a different tune. He told Extra TV, “You know, the character’s dead. He died in John Wick: Chapter 4,” And while Reeves acknowledges that movies can find ways for characters to have mysterious resurrections, Reeves says “Right now? Right now, there isn’t.” (A way for John Wick to come back to life.)
@extra_tvKeanu Reeves talks about the possibility of more “John Wick” (never say never in Hollywood!) and his brief appearance in the upcoming “Ballerina”! 👊🤞 #keanureeves #johnwick #johnwick4

The two ideas are a bit at odds. Could John Wick 5 come back without Keanu Reeves’ John Wick? After all, Brown implies he may be dead for real. We don’t like the thought.
Whether John Wick 5 Happens Is Up to Reeves and Stahelski
In contradiction to their idea that John Wick could continue without Reeves, John Wick producer Basil Iwanyk shared with Deadline that the most important factor for a potential John Wick 5 was whether or not Keanu Reeves and Chad Stahelski felt compelled to make another movie.
Iwanyk offered:
Once they get through their hangovers, if Keanu and Chad have figured out something cool, if they’ve an organic way back in that doesn’t feel like bullshit, then there will be a John Wick 5. That trip to Japan, it’s like waiting for a boat to emerge out of the smoke, but that’s the impetus. These movies are really hard for Keanu and Chad, and everybody. By the time each one is over, most involved have said, never again, this is too hard and we’re not getting any younger. Then time goes by, you see it embraced by fans, and after working together every year for 11 years, it’s become a family and in some demented way, and we miss each other. But I totally defer to Chad and Keanu to figure out what and if that story is.
He also added, speaking to IGN, “John Wick 4 was embraced enough by the critics and the audience that it’s kind of an organic and natural next step to do John Wick 5. I think that there’s no question that it’s in development, but right now the story isn’t there yet. And until the story is there, it isn’t… It’s real on something we’re trying to figure out. But we haven’t settled on what that movie looks like or feels like.” Hopefully, that’s where Chad Stahelski and Keanu Reeves come in.
Stahelski Weighs in on Another John Wick MovieFor his part, Stahelski revealed in July 2023, “I don’t have a take right now. But I could wake up tomorrow and have a cool idea that I’d pitch to Keanu, or he would pitch to me, and it might hit that chord of, ‘Oh my God, we got to do this right now.’”
He also noted to the Happy Sad Confused podcast in August of 2023, “Keanu, if you ask him right now, ‘Would you do John Wick 5?’ He’d be, ‘Fuck yeah!’ But then he’d look and go, ‘Well, what is it? I have no fucking idea.’ And believe me, it’s not like, ‘We’re going to figure it out today’… We have a lot of set pieces, we have a lot of ideas, we have a lot of things that we didn’t go or didn’t do before. I have no doubt that we’d come up with a lot of great pieces. It just — what’s the main threat? We’re about myths. It’s like a fable. What’s the message in the fable? What’s the moral of the story?'” Ultimately he concludes, “I don’t think there’s any reason to bring John Wick back without a real reason.”
Ultimately, we shouldn’t expect John Wick 5 movie to hit our screens any time soon. Stahelski most recently updated Business Insider in October of 2024, and reiterated that both he and Keanu Reeves were open to return but that story hasn’t materialized yet. “If we felt we weren’t ripping the fans off and had more to give, I’d do it tomorrow,” he said. “I just don’t have that right now. The other stuff I’m working on are great properties, and I’m excited, but nothing is going to beat this.”
John Wick 5 Not Yet a Sure Thing
None of this, of course, is a confirmation that a John Wick 5 movie will definitely happen. Maybe Keanu Reeves will decide that he’s tired of shooting people and running in dress shoes when he meets with Stahelski and that will be enough to shut the franchise down. Early development doesn’t mean a definite yes, either. Either way, this isn’t the end of the universe. There’s already a secret Wick movie in the works, and we have the Ballerina flick coming later this year. But we wouldn’t mind seeing more John Wick at all, just as long as John Wick 5 tells the right story.

STAR TREK Fan Film Shows Two Infamous Enterprise Starships Together in Space
Over the years, the Star Trek franchise has had characters from its separate series crossover in different ways. The most recent time had characters from Lower Decks appear in Strange New Worlds. However, the one crossover that Star Trek fans always wanted to see, but never did, was an encounter between Captain Kirk’s Enterprise-A and Captain Picard’s Enterprise-D from The Next Generation. Well, one YouTuber named NJM Photo has made that happen, and not by using CGI. They did it using various model kits from Revell and AMT, and a motion control camera. With this old-school technique, the two iconic starships meet in space at last. You can watch the full video, titled A Leap Through Time, right here:
In the video, Captain Janeway’s Voyager (a nice added bonus) escorts Picard’s Federation flagship through space. The Enterprise-D then encounters a temporal rift, and flies through, presumably going back in time. Yes, this is very much how the Enterprise-D encountered the Enterprise-C in the classic TNG episode “Yesterday’s Enterprise.” There, they encounter Kirk’s Enterprise, in battle with a Klingon Bird of Prey. We only wish the Defiant from Deep Space Nine could have been there too. But hey, this is pretty close to perfect.

The fact that this short looks so professional with store-bought model kits is nothing short of incredible. And it really goes a long way at reminding fans that a well-lit motion-controlled model is almost always better than a CGI version of the same thing. This same YouTuber recreated the iconic battle between the Reliant and the Enterprise from The Wrath of Khan, which itself was amazing. But this video, giving us the two legendary ships side-by-side, was something hardcore Trekkers have always wanted to see happen. We may never get it in any movie, but this is certainly the next best thing.

LILO & STITCH Live-Action Trailer Is All About Ohana and Adorable Vibes
The trailer for theLilo & Stitch movie is here. And yes, it is just as adorable as the teasers we’ve seen so far. While it still seems a bit soon to be reimagining an animated film that just came out in 2002, I have to remember that wasn’t yesterday. In fact, 2002 was over twenty years ago, so there’s a whole new generation of kiddos who will beg their parents to go see Lilo & Stitch. That’s wild.
In it, we see how Stitch ends up on Earth and meets Lilo, a lonely and frankly adorable little girl. Stitch is so adorable and weird and gahhhh I really do like this trailer. Together, they all learn about Ohana and how no family is perfect. Of course, there’s antagonistic forces hoping to catch Stitch and ruin the good time they are having. I personally love the idea of Courtney B. Vance playing a black suit wearing baddie.
Here’s a quick synopsis and cast rundown for Lilo & Stitch to go along with its trailer:

Lilo & Stitch is produced by Jonathan Eirich, p.g.a. and Dan Lin, with Tom Peitzman, Ryan Halprin, Louie Provost, Thomas Schumacher serving as executive producers.

For loyal players of online and mobile games, change is always a bit alarming. Ultimately, players have no control over what happens to their favorite games and no way to return to play previous editions of them that they enjoyed. Today, a very large shift occurred to a beloved game. Pokémon Go, alongside “Pikmin Bloom, Monster Hunter Now, and the incredible teams working on these experiences,” has been sold from Niantic to Scopely, share the companies. While all involved promise to retain the spirit of the game, Scopely does have a history of intensely monetizing games, leaving some nervous. On the plus side, Scopely will retain the whole Niantic Games team working on Pokémon Go and other games. Only time will tell what change this will bring.
Russo Brothers Tease Avengers: Secret Wars Comic Book Inspirations
Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Warsare on the way. But which Marvel Comics will inspire the new Avengers movies? Will it be the original Secret Wars limited series from 1984? Or Jonathan Hickman’s reboot of the Secret Wars story from 2015? As we might have expected, the answer is both, but, as always, the MCU movie will tell its own tale.
Joe Russo shared, “Well, we always create our own version of the story. So, we use the comics as loose inspiration. But, you know, I grew up on the original run. That’s something that got me into Marvel comic books. The Hickman run is also fantastic [and they’re] very different from each other in a lot of ways, so we’ll draw inspiration from both of them.”

If you don’t have Disney+ but want to get caught up on arguably the best Star Wars show ever, Andor, before season two hits. Disney and YouTube have a solution for you, at least partially. Episodes 1-3 of Andor season one are now available to watch free on Disney+’s YouTube. Additionally, all episodes of Andor are now available on Hulu, in case that’s your streaming platform of choice.
Andor Scripts Won’t Release Because of AI Concerns
You can now watch Andor across many different platforms, but don’t expect to get your hands on any scripts. Andor creator Tony Gilroy shares that though he once promised he’d release the Andor scripts, he now will keep them close to his chest due to AI’s sneaky ways. Gilroy notes, “I wanted to do it. We put it together. It’s really cool. I’ve seen it, I loved it. AI is the reason we’re not. In the end, it would be 1,500 pages that came directly off this desk. I mean, terribly sadly, it’s just too much of an X-ray and too easily absorbed. Why help the f***ing robots any more than you can? So, it was an ego thing. It was vanity that makes you want to do it, and the downside is real. So, vanity loses.”
Tony Gilroy Is Done with Star Wars After Andor Season 2
Tony Gilroy has made some giant contributions to the Star Wars world. But will he return to the galaxy far, far away after Andor season 2? It seems like signs point to no. Gilroy revealed, returning to Star Wars is “not really part of my plan.”
He added, “I’ve been peripherally involved for 10 years and intensely involved for six years, so that’s a pretty big chunk of my life. There are other things to do. I think when it’s done, I will have left a pretty big piece of Star Wars real estate behind. I’m not feeling guilty about not chipping in.” Next up for Gilory is a movie he’d like to direct. He shares, “It’s a movie about movie music.”
Zach Cregger’s Resident Evil Movie Coming Fall 2026, Lands at Sony
Zach Cregger’s Resident Evil reboot is heading home to Sony Pictures and producer PlayStation Productions. The Resident Evil cinematic franchise has long been under Sony’s purview, but to keep it, the studio had to participate in quite the bidding war. Nevertheless, Sony prevailed and will bring us the next Resident Evil movie, which is helmed by Barbarian filmmaker Zach Cregger.
The release date for the next Resident Evil movie is September 18, 2026.
Robert Pattinson Says He’s Going to Be “A F**cking Old Batman” in The Batman—Part II
The Batman—Part II has had some delays. Rumor has it that it will begin filming soon(ish), and one person who hopes so is Robert Pattinson. He shares, “I fucking hope so,” when asked if he’ll return to Batman’s world soon, “I started out as young Batman, and I’m going to be fucking old Batman by the sequel. I’m 38, I’m old.” Oop, well, we also love an old Batman.

What Will the Future Hold for White Tiger in DAREDEVIL: BORN AGAIN?
After the closing moments of Daredevil: Born Again episode three, it’s very unlikely we will see the character of Hector Ayala (the late Kamar de los Reyes) again this season, despite his exoneration by Matt Murdock in court. A crooked cop wearing the Punisher symbol executed the New York vigilante known as White Tiger in the streets, presumably just days after his release from jail. But just because Hector is gone, doesn’t mean we’ve seen the last of the White Tiger. In Marvel Comics, Hector was the first to use that codename, but far from the last. And we have a feeling we may see some of them in future Daredevil: Born Again episodes. Here’s the list of the most likely suspects, based on the Marvel Comics.
White Tiger II (Heroes for Hire)
The second White Tiger had nothing to do with Hector Ayala, or his mystical amulets. She was actually a Bengal white tiger, transformed into a humanoid by the High Evolutionary, the villain of Guardians of the Galaxy: Volume 3. Marvel introduced her as a member of the Heroes for Hire in 1997, alongside Matt Murdock’s Defenders buddy Iron Fist. She was a short-lived character who eventually devolved back into a tiger and returned to the jungle. She might be the second White Tiger, but having no connection to Ayala, and having such an extreme sci-fi origin, she just wouldn’t fit into the world of Daredevil: Born Again. We think her chances of being the next to take on the mantle after Hector are very low indeed.
White Tiger III (Kevin “Kasper” Cole)
The second White Tiger in Marvel Comics was Kevin “Kasper” Cole. And much like the White Tiger from Heroes for Hire, he had nothing to do with the Hector Ayala version or his amulets. This version did live in New York, and was an officer in the NYPD. When he was unjustly fired, he stole a Black Panther costume and assumed his identity. This occurred in an era when T’Challa was missing. When T’Challa returned, Cole went through a Wakanda ceremony, ingesting an artificial version of the Heart-Shaped Herb. He became an acolyte of Black Panther, known as White Tiger. Although a version of this character could appear in the MCU, we think they’ll tie him to a Black Panther sequel, not shoe-horn him into a Daredevil series. But as a New York cop, his odds of being in Born Again are slightly higher than the second White Tiger.
White Tiger IV (Angela del Toro)
The fourth White Tiger in Marvel Comics is the most likely the second MCU White Tiger. This is Angela del Toro, niece of Hector Ayala and inheritor of his mystical amulets. A Federal agent who becomes a superhero, she first appeared in Daredevil #58 in 2004, created by writer Brian Michael Bendis. She even received her own series in 2006. We know an Angela del Toro exists in the MCU as a P.I. That’s because Jessica Jones mentions her in an episode of her Netflix series. But that could be another unrelated person entirely. We see Hector’s teenage niece in court during his trial, whom he lives with. We can assume that’s Angela. Given that White Tiger IV is directly related to Hector Ayala, and that her creator Brian Michael Bendis is a credited producer on Born Again, we think Hector’s niece is the most likely to take over for her uncle and avenge his murder.
White Tiger V (Ava Ayala)
In the comics, the fifth White Tiger is Ava Ayala, the younger sister of Hector Ayala. After Angela gives up the White Tiger mantle, Ava takes on the mystical amulets and continues her big brother’s legacy. She first appeared in 2011’s Avengers Academy, while also showing up in comics like Mighty Avengers. In animation, they reinvented her as Hector’s daughter instead of sister for the Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon series. Hector’s sister is mentioned during his trial when he says he lives with her and her daughter. So far, they have not officially stated that Hector himself has a daughter in Born Again. But that doesn’t mean she doesn’t exist. We say Ava is the second most likely MCU White Tiger, as we still lean toward Angela first.
Of course, it could be that no one succeeds Hector as the new White Tiger. But we doubt it. It might be someone not based on the comics at all! We’ll find out in future episodes of Daredevil: Born Again.

STAN LEE: THE FINAL CHAPTER Documentary Sheds Sad Light Over Marvel Legend’s Last Years
The late Stan Lee co-created some of the most enduring icons of the last century. There’s almost no one alive who hasn’t heard of Spider-Man, the X-Men, or the Avengers. When Stan Lee died at age 95 back in 2018, everyone celebrated his legacy. Yet few knew how filled with chaos his last few years actually were. Now, via The Hollywood Reporter, we’ve learned of a new documentary called Stan Lee: The Final Chapter. It’s from filmmaker Jon Bolerjack, who was at Stan’s side for the last four years of his life, documenting everything. And a lot of what he saw was that those around him were taking advantage of the legendary creator.
You can see a trailer for this Stan Lee-centric documentary, via Bolerjack’s Kickstarter campaign, right here:
Bolerjack was by Stan Lee’s side as he went to convention after convention, signing and taking photos for hours with Marvel fans, despite his very advanced age. All in an effort by those around him to milk the Stan Lee cash-cow for as long as they could. Although allegations came to light around the time of Lee’s death about elder abuse from those inside his inner circle, Bolerjack claims he has hours of footage of that bad behavior recorded in his documentary about Stan Lee. He also has hours of footage of legendary comic book creators like Mark Waid (Daredevil) and others sharing their stories about what they saw firsthand.

Even though there were whispers about much of this abuse at the time, according to the original report, Bolerjack says things were even worse than anyone knew. He also asserts that Stan Lee was in financial ruin at the time of his death in November 2018. It’s hard to imagine that the man who co-created the bulk of Marvel’s most iconic characters was broke. Especially since at the time of his death, Marvel movies had collectively made $30 billion dollars. And that’s not counting decades of merchandise sales. Jason Momoa Joins DCU as Lobo in SUPERGIRL: WOMAN OF TOMORROW
Jason Momoa is leaving the Seven Seas behind, but he’s not saying goodbye to superhero movies. He’s not even saying goodbye to DC. We now know for sure he is not reprising the role of Arthur Curry in James Gunn and Peter Safran’s new DCU because the former Aquaman is officially joining the franchise as the comic book character he was (possibly quite literally) born to play. Momoa will star in Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow as Lobo.

The most rumored, most obvious, most perfect casting in superhero movie history is happening. After a whole lot of speculation and fan-casting, Momoa will play the DCU’s Lobo. The actor himself confirmed the casting in an Instagram post. It referenced his love for the character and his long desire to play him on screen. Momoa shared the news with a simple note: “They called.”
Recently, James Gunn revealed more about how Momoa’s Lobo casting began, sharing a text between the pair of them that happened RIGHT after Gunn and Peter Safran took over as heads of the DCU. Gunn wrote on Threads, “On the anniversary of Lobo, I can’t help but think of a text I received from Jason Momoa on the morning it was announced Peter & I were the heads of DC Studios — the day Jason & I first discussed him joining the DCU as Lobo. I’ve loved watching Jason bring him to life & can’t wait to share that with all of you.”

The only person who wanted him to play Lobo more than Momoa was literally everyone on the planet. The muscle-bound alien bounty hunter with long black hair and glowing red eyes looks like he was based on Momoa physically. Lobo’s irreverent personality also feels like it was created with the actor in mind. However, writer/artist Keith Giffen’s violent anti-hero made his comic debut in the 1980s in The Omega Men. He then got a slight revamp with the Justice League International which kicked off in 1987. But the character’s popularity really took off in the ’90s.
In addition to Momoa playing both characters, Lobo also has one thing in common with Arthur Curry. Lobo really loves his precious space dolphins. (And if that doesn’t come up in Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, we’re going to be very disappointed.)

Momoa is the latest name to sign on to director Craig Gillespie’s film. It stars House of the Dragon‘s Milly Alcock as Supergirl. The movie will also feature Matthias Schoenaerts as the villain Krem of the Yellow Hill and Eve Ridley as Ruthye Mary Knolle.
If they’re as perfectly cast as Momoa is as Lobo this will be one hell of a cast.

ANDOR Episodes Available Free on YouTube, ANDOR Scripts Won’t Release Due to AI, Tony Gilroy Done with STAR WARS and Other March News
Somehow, it’s three months into 2025, and the year is really getting started. Here are some entertainment news tidbits that dropped in March. (You can check out February’s round-up here)
Andor Season 1 Episodes Available to Watch For Free on YouTubeIf you don’t have Disney+ but want to get caught up on arguably the best Star Wars show ever, Andor, before season two hits.

Every Streaming Cost Increase In 2025: Netflix Sets Major Price Hike Across PlansYouTube Offering Less Expensive Premium Tier, YouTube Premium Lite
Are all the ads on YouTube making you batty? Well, now you can take advantage of the perks of YouTube’s Premium tier, namely an ad-free experience, in a less expensive way. YouTube is now offering YouTube Premium Light. YouTube Premium Lite will cost $7.99 per month vs. $13.99 per month, the cost of premium. That’s a pretty steep reduction. YouTube Premium Lite will make “most videos” on YouTube ad-free for subscribers, including gaming, fashion, news, and beauty videos. Music content and shorts will remain full of ads, however. And YouTube Premium Lite will not allow video downloads or background play. Still, for those wanting less ads in their lives, YouTube Premium Lite seems like a good choice.
