I can see the finish line

The end is near! Barring any unforeseeable delays, Heroes of A Shattered Age will be completed as of Sunday and that will round out the series! Because I was able to get the last two done in a fairly timely manner, the decision has been made to publish the entire series back to back, so readers will be spared the wait for each installment! I am excited about this!

I will post some minor details on the next story I am due to start in a few weeks after I wrap up Heroes! :)

Progress

Heroes of A Broken Age is shaping up nicely. I've reached about 35-40% completion and it is flowing well. With each book the story gets bigger, and this is going to be the biggest yet. I am very much looking forward for a complete summer release for the trilogy.

On another note, I won't know till I get the first proof, but I believe I have finally found my artist! Now I can have the first book redone and have the second book done as well. Things are shaping up well.

Late nights and baby steps

The last two weeks have been a test of endurance that I'm not sure I'm passing. Working from 6pm to 5am, then working 5pm to 11pm the next day. Trying to squeeze writing time in between. Working today at 5pm. Its raining and cold, I'm warm and comfortable in a coffee shop typing this because I was on my computer dozing off after writing barely 1000 words. Way below my daily quota, and creeping at a less that desirable pace.

Still pushing for summer release of the entire series. Come to think of it, maybe I'm so tired because the thought of having all three books available by summer has me so giddy I can barely sleep more than 5 hours. *shrugs* :D

And the Heroes continue on

Very busy schedule, but plugging along! Heroes of A Broken Age is moving along nicely! This is my biggest and most ambitious project yet, so I'm hopeful it will be well received and show my growth as a writer from book one to three. It is still my plan for all three to be available by summer, so I'm really pushing for it. Just having challenges in the artwork department in terms of my covers. *Bangs head against desk* :)

Twilight Saga

Lately I've been seeing a lot of Twilight debate so I thought I'd chime in quickly.

Many criticize Stephanie Meyer's grammar and the quality of her writing as well as the quality of the story itself. While I'll not comment on these points directly, I must say that I have yet to read a novel without typos or the occasional grammatical error. I've read all the books and noticed some errors, much like any other author. (had some readers point out errors of my own)

I've read the books and though I was not the targeted audience, I have to say I enjoyed them. I'll not lie and say that at times Bella nearly made me burst a blood vessel at least twice per book, but I had to remind myself that she's a teenager. (I've met smarter ones, but still) I didn't find the writing quality so glaring as others, as it was written in a very approachable way that is easily devoured. There are many different types of books we read for different reasons. This could be one we read for light reading entertainment. Nothing wrong with that. Perhaps if we don't like something, we tend to pick at every flaw to add to the list?

All in all, I enjoyed the books for a one time trip. (poor annoying Bella, sigh) I found the story quite engaging and I think Ms. Meyers did a great job in creating an engaging and entertaining story. I wanted to know what happened and I was fully invested in the character's fate. Bella made me want to breathe fire quite often, but the story was still enough for me to power through. *smile*

Exciting times!

Never had a blog before, but figure now is as good a time as any. Hopefully in the days months and years to come, someone will actually read these. ;)

Echoes of A Shattered Age will be repackaged soon with a new cover! Along with this, Legends of A Shattered Age, the followup book is on the way for summer, and Heroes of A Broken Age is not far behind. This trilogy should be available in full by summertime, barring any delays. I am quite excited to have this story completed and available and looking forward to the reception! Each entry gets just bigger than the last!
