Adventures in Epublishing: Pricing Experiment

One of the joys of being a master of your own work is the ability to adjust prices, if you see fit.  While I'm confident of my $2.99 pricing at Amazon.com, Barnesandnoble.com, and Smashwords.com, I felt that maybe the price I had set for Amazon UK might be too much.  I went with Amazon's original suggestion and had Amazon UK match the US price, setting the UK price for 2.99 GBP.  The customers

Adventures in Epublishing: Visibility

I was baffled this week when trying to figure out how my Barnes & Noble sales for the month of December were beating my Amazon sales.  Now I know we're talking small numbers, here, but even small numbers are worth investigating.  This month I've sold 5 ebooks at B&N and only 2 at Amazon.  I am still convinced that Amazon is the king of ebooks and I figure most people with ereaders have Kindles

Adventures in Epublishing: Strategy

There are a ton of sales strategies out there for your ebook: contests, blogging, getting it to reviewers, forcing it on friends and relatives, etc.  But after reading a Joe Konrath blog post regarding Amanda Hocking's ebook success (as well as countless other articles) it's quite clear that the most important thing to do to promote yourself is to WRITE.  And get those books out!
