I hadn't noticed any posts by him for a while on Fb. It seems that Laika entered eternal orbit on December 16, 2024. A great guy and a great Cubist. He will be missed here as he entered into the presence of his Savior.

On August 31, 2025, a Change.org petition titled “Stop Charlie Kirk From Spreading Hate on Utah Campuses” started circulating. Motivated by Kirk’s upcoming appearances at Utah Valley University and Utah State University, the petition embraced the equations favored by student narcissists everywhere when those students seek to censor and exclude:

Proposition one: speech that challenges campus orthodoxies is “hate speech.”

Proposition two: people who disagree with campus orthodoxies are “haters.”

Proposition three: “hate speech” and “haters” cause harm.

Proposition four: because of that harm, “hate speech” and “haters” should be silenced, stigmatized, and excluded from college campuses and other citadels of tolerant, inclusive culture.

Kirk’s presence on campus would be a “threat to the inclusive, respectful environment that our campuses are supposed to represent.”

Universities have a “responsibility to protect students from harassment, hostility, and the legitimization of hate under the banner of ‘debate.’”

“When speakers with a record of targeting marginalized groups are given the microphone, the result isn’t dialogue—it’s harm.”

Were Utah Valley University and Utah State University to allow Kirk to speak, they would be “endorsing rhetoric that directly undermines their stated commitments to diversity, equity, and inclusion.”

These hothouse phrases are usually associated with the denizens of the Ivy League and other selective colleges, but the ideology of totalitarian safetyism has spread to every college campus that is not explicitly and militantly countercultural—including, it would seem, Utah Valley University.

They don’t call you a hater because you hate, they call you a hater because you challenge their orthodoxies. And so they would make the government a Hobbesian Leviathan: a State where the government is a totalitarian guardian of “safety” whatever the government decides that to be. This would maintain peace within society. That is the essence of the Hobbesian Leviathan.

Totalitarianism in the name of public safety though isn’t the real motive of these people. The real motive underlying all the rationalizations for such a “public safety” State is a very base motive: these people’s desire to rule over the rest of society, to make everyone else their subject.

All the rationalizations of the Left can be reduced to this very ugly base motive: the desire to rule over a subservient society and make of themselves Kings in fact, if not in name.

I make this claim because this is where this would lead. This is where the Leftist project unhindered always leads. That is no accident. It is the ugly motive beneath all the ideology.

We all get upset when the Left makes up nonsensical stories about the Right, calling us Nazis. But when the same propaganda tricks are used to malign someone else, some of us happily run with it.

As someone recently said about Charlie Kirk's murder: "They don’t kill you because you’re a Nazi, they call you a Nazi so they can kill you."

The same applies to Ukraine and Zelensky, who are being maligned so they could be killed. I'd rather all people falsely accused of being Nazis unite in destroying that narrative, instead of reinforcing it.

I never said Zelensky is perfect. But neither is he the corrupt monster from the anti-Ukrainian fiction planted by Russia's influence operations.

You would certainly know better than I, but he was denied an exit visa.  I would be very grateful if I could hear a valid reason for it.

I have no real position on the ongoing war beyond snarky comments here.  I tend toward orange man's not wanting more dead innocents on both sides.

Time has just now figured out that there is political violence in the USSA?  Where the intercourse have they been?  Was Time taken over by Mad Magazine?  (Sorry, showing my decrepitude.)  That's not even up to the Stars & Stripes standard of "Yesterday's News Tomorrow".  



I really do think feel that the Left has somehow sensed that this pushed things much closer to the tipping point.  Maybe they listened to Ann Coulter when she profoundly said, "Hunting's not as much fun when the rabbit's got the gun."  Or something to that effect...



I denounce Time Magazine!  The only political violence is violence directed towards The Party™!  Just listen to all the apologists sneer that it is ironic that some are being punished for "free speech".  I thought the Left didn't understand irony, and I was correct.
