[signal boosting] internet powers, activate!

Originally posted by [info] kythryne at internet powers, activate!Okay, people. I need you to take this viral, and fast.

We know someone in upstate New York who needs a good custody lawyer ASAP. I'm not at liberty to go into details publicly, but this woman is very afraid that her abusive boyfriend is going to get sole custody of her young child.  She's presently being represented by a court-assigned lawyer who doesn't seem to care about the case, and she has very few resources left at this point. Her next hearing is on Thursday.

If you know a good lawyer in New York State who might be willing to take this case for a low fee or pro bono, or at least offer her advice or support, please let me know. If you don't know anyone, please repost this far and wide. As a mother and an abuse survivor, it makes me absolutely sick to my stomach to contemplate a child being left in the hands of an abuser.

I can be reached at kythryne@gmail.com if you have any leads or want to help.

The internet can work miracles. Let's go.

Bicycle

Rode almost 5 miles - the direction i chose was a lot more challenging than the route I've been taking.  Run Keeper doesn't do it justice, lots of long hills up and short hills down.

After the deluge of the weekend, in which I did nothing more strenuous than wander around the clock museum hung over and attempted to play Demon's Souls, it feels good to be exercising again.

And the Wind Takes their Ashes Ashore

sovay asked me if I ever got other peoples' nightmares.  I do, but I couldn't remember whose when she asked, but last night I got one of Pa Paisley's about The Bomb.  In this case, going off in NYC.

I also got one of my own about sleek and beautiful predators that caused those who saw them to be struck with Stendhal Syndrome, and weep tears of joy as the monsters casually picked them off.

Run Blogging

Hitting a plateau in terms of speed.  I am making it through the 5K, but only just and reeeeeaaaaalllly slooooooooow.  Meh.  I could go for speed, but that never seems to work out well for me.

Not as hot as mid week, but my that sun is strong!

Bicycle

Almost 5 miles, but I turned it in early, because I do not want to be away from my post for long.

Maybe I will ride a little more in the afternoon...

One Epic Back File Later...

And my day is mostly spent.  I haven't gotten up or accomplished much of anything else.  And I am not completely confident that I got this done to the customer's satisfaction.  I'm sure I'll find out shortly if I haven't.  Still, that was a bigger work-hole than I've encountered in a while.  I think my digestive system can wait until dinner to eat.  I think it's too late to run, so I will walk instead.

Run Blogging

So on Tuesday, I decided that, if I could complete the Brand New Heavy route (that's the name I use for it in runcreeper) 5 times without a stop, I could try to do the 5 mile route I have and see how that went.  The goal is to have completed a 10K by Readercon.  Today was my second qualifying run.  I am still slow as molasses, so my other goal is completing a 5K in less than 40 minutes.

I rode my bike yesterday, which I don't think I logged here, so here.  I also mowed on Saturday.  Friday was lazy.  I think that about catches me up.

Submissions Don't Matter

But Scorpius has no good news for me on that front.  Hm.  2011 has not been an exactly productive year for me in terms or writing or submitting, which means very few sales.  So far.
