Hi, so I recently saw your post about "radical feminists". Do you believe that gender roles are meant to be conformed to or broken? Or do you believe that there is a natural order that people need to follow based on their gender
Conformed to or broken? Neither. People should do what they want or can. I was watching a documentary about the Hutterites the other day and I was most distressed that they didn’t allow any men in the kitchen. I love to cook. I don’t wanna have to plow a goddamn field just cuz I have a wiener.
So no joining a Hutterite commune for me.

I used to have these computer speakers.
There was a box woofer and two smaller ones, all attached to each other with a jumble of fucking annoying ass wires.
When I converted to a laptop, I had to keep hauling them all over the house. If I wanted to listen to music in the kitchen, I had to haul them there. If I wanted to listen to music in my office, I had to haul them there.
What a pain in the ass. Gathering them all up awkwardly with all their attached jumble of fucking annoying ass wires. Jesus.
Every time I’d drop one, too. BOOM! Every time one of the little speakers hit the floor. Every time. I was careful, too. I’d press them against my chest like a little baby, use my chin, the works. Still: BOOM!
It got so I expected it. No matter how careful I was, if I moved the speakers to a different room, one of them was gonna hit the floor. No matter what. I started to not care as much. After all, the speakers had won. Sometimes, I would even throw one of the speakers to the floor and drag it to my destination by its stupid attached annoying ass wire.
One time, after throwing one of the little speakers to the floor and proceeding to drag it, I dropped the other one. My face reddened with rage. I picked both of them up and, along with the box woofer, heaved the whole mess to the floor. I picked them all up again, and again heaved them against the floor. I did this over and over until my computer speakers were in a million scattered pieces.
Then I went and got my headphones, relieved that I finally solved a modern problem.

The Odyssey is the tale, basically, of a dude wandering around and getting into shit. He’s trying to get back to his family, but no such luck. The Universe is totally gonna fuck with him first. O Brother Where Art Thou is the Odyssey set in, what, 1920s Mississippi?
Much, much better music. I read the Odyssey first time when I was 14 (I was a total nerd in school), then later, per requirement, in college.
Both times there was no music.
This is what makes the movie better. MUSIC!

Man of Constant Sorrow, from O Brother Where Art Thou? The greatest remake of Homer’s Odyssey you never knew they did. You’ll still watch it and scratch your head.
Trust me. It’s step by step Homer’s Odyssey.
(but with better music)
Peace.

DDDDDD
The only reason I’m going with this is because of all my gruffness.
I am very gruff.
Also, I like how he called me EOON.
Grrrrrrrrrrufff!
Thanks, tho…
I’ve noticed that people who call themselves “freethinkers” get mad at you if you disagree with them.
Same with the “think out of the box” thinkers. People who give themselves labels are generally uptight and overly touchy, which is why they need labels.
The whole thing, that I am realizing, is that there are very specific ways to think about and believe certain things.
As a person annoyed by authority, this bugs me, regardless of content.
I am a man. I feel strength coursing through my body. I feel I should be leading something, in charge of something. I feel I should be telling people what to do.
Maybe it’s just me, but I ain’t gonna lie. How many other men, I wonder, are lying?
