Transsexual/transgender people don't *choose* to be trans. Maybe in the strictest sense of the word "choice" because they choose to take the steps necessary to make their sex match their gender if they transition, but they don't choose to experience the dy

Well, however you want to look at it is cool with me, but the genetic argument used with homosexuality is compromised and doesn’t fly when applied to transsexuals. It needs to be adjusted. But the thrust of my post is that the reason doesn’t matter. Who cares why? We will never convince those who oppose it with that argument. Really, it seems like we’re convincing ourselves. The genetic argument is purposeless. You can’t say genes in the case of homosexuals are immutable, but in the case of transsexuals are, indeed, mutable.

The only way that could be done is if genes and sexuality have nothing to do with each other, which then invalidates the argument homosexuality has been making since the 1970s.

But, really, who cares? People should do what they want as long as it doesn’t hurt anyone else….

Although I don't "identify" as either liberal or conservative, I am partial to the fluidity and lack of logic characteristic of liberals.

Like, homosexuality is genetic. No one chooses to be gay. You are born that way and blah blah blah it goes.

Unless you are transsexual!

Caitlyn is genetically a man, but she isn’t one. One is not confined to one’s genes. He’s a woman because she decided he was. Or something like that. Anyway, when looked at together, it’s clearly bullshit.

There is no need to bullshit and try to justify everything, my liberal friends!

I don’t know why some people are gay, and I don’t care. I don’t know why some people are transsexual, and I don’t care.

What I would hope to identify as is pro-freedom.

Life is short.

Live as you please and fuck all.

(at this point, I would hope you all flash the finger)

Well, if you look at population levels. I got a right wing friend who is fond of pointing out that more white people are killed by police than black people and I have to point out the concept of ratios to him, that black folks only make up 13 to 14% of the American population.

In the last 8 years Finland, which has a population of 5.5 million people, has had 18 people slaughtered by crazed gunmen The U.S., by comparison, has 319 million people.

If one looks only at the math, you have a much better chance of being mowed down in Finland, with its myriad of gun control laws, than in the U.S.

On this point, unfortunately, Obama is full of it.

Omg I freaking love Bernie! In the 5 years that I could have voted, I never have, but all that changes this presidential election. Feel the Bern!

Haha. I’m in my 40s and have voted every time I could. I respect Bernie a lot, even if I don’t agree with everything he stands for. At least he actually, really stands for something. I can get down with that…

"The state calls its own violence law, but that of the individual, crime."

The only way I would support a gun ban is if it included the police as well.

Nanterre, France, March 27, 2002: A man killed eight city-council members after a council meeting.

Erfurt, Germany, April 26, 2002: A former student killed 18 at a secondary school.

Freising, Germany, Feb. 19, 2002: Three people killed and one wounded.

Turin, Italy, Oct. 15, 2002: Seven people killed on a hillside overlooking the city.

Madrid, Spain, Oct. 1, 2006: A man killed two employees and wounded another at a company that had fired him.

Emsdetten, Germany, Nov. 20, 2006: A former student murdered eleven people at a high school.

Tuusula, Finland, Nov. 7, 2007: Seven students and the principal killed at a high school.

Naples, Italy, Sept. 18, 2008: Seven dead and two seriously wounded in a public meeting hall.

Kauhajoki, Finland, Sept. 23, 2008: Ten people shot to death at a college.

Winnenden, Germany, March 11, 2009: A 17-year-old former student killed 15 people, including nine students and three teachers.

Lyon, France, March 19, 2009: Ten people injured when a man opened fire on a nursery school.

Athens, Greece, April 10, 2009: Three people killed and two injured by a student at a vocational college.

Rotterdam, Netherlands, April 11, 2009: Three people killed and one injured at a crowded café.

Vienna, Austria, May 24, 2009: One dead and 15 wounded in an attack on a Sikh temple.

Espoo, Finland, Dec. 31, 2009: Four people shot to death at a mall.

Cumbria, England, June 2, 2010: Twelve killed by a British taxi driver.

Utøya, Norway, July 22, 2011: Anders Breivik uses a car bomb, then shoots and kills 67.

Of course, this list assumes that Europe is civilized, which, obviously, it isn’t.

Wouldn’t it just be the tits if Bernie won the Democratic Party nomination?

I’ve always despised Hillary. Call me idealistic, but one should seek the Presidency for reasons more than just vacuous careerism.

They’ll never give it too him, though. He’s a straight talking son of a bitch, saying things far different than the mealy-mouthed ass-kissing platitudes spewed forth by virtually all American politicians.

Too bad, too, because I’m quite certain Clinton can’t beat a Republican.

Third party, anyone?
