Samples Samples Samples

It's Sample Sunday! That means I'm lazing around twitter reading samples of writing and growing my TBR list. It also means you might have found me because of Sample Sunday. While you're here, creep around. I'd love for you to visit the rate me some page as it has a contest where you could win a free ebook. (and if you're an author, you might get some free promotion and a sale out of it)

If you haven't read my sample, feel free to pick it up here

Of course, all my books are available from the regular outlets. Look for One Insular Tahiti, Anomaly, Secret Language of Crows, and Pray for Reign.

  And: THANKS for stopping by.

If you're an author and would like to be listed on my Creep Me some page, send me a link!

Best kept secret–from me

I just discovered this awesome little blog about all things Kindle called the kindle reader. It allows for subscriptions so you can grab up some free and cheap reads. It reminds me of the frugalereader actually, (the site that featured One Insular Tahiti just recently) which is another great resource for all things Kindle. There are TONS of links and TONS of info as well as little reviews and blurbs about books available for the Kindle platform. i'm like a kid in a candy store. you have GOT to check it out.

So, since I'm just now finding this particular resource, i'm wondering if y'all have some favorite spots you visit. Feel free to list them in comments

Books every day

I do believe–if I have done my math right–that I shall be listed as the book of the day at a nice little blog kept up by Karly Kirkpatrick. She's another writer who has published using the wonderful new forum of

News News News

Lots to tell, lots to tell.

first: the poll on rate me some at my wordpress blog is coming along nicely. If you haven’t voted on your favorite blurb…what the heck are you waiting for…you could win an ebook.

second: Anomaly received a 5+ star review from syriasays: a great little review blog with character

third: Secret Language of Crows has found Amazon ranking. As of today, it hit 72 in literature and fiction for Canada. ha! Watch that puppy drop like a stone in water over the next few days.

fourth: A wonderful wonderful goodreads reader gave One Insular Tahiti a 5* review. Many thanks, Paula. I am in your debt.

Fifth: The ‘orrible ‘istorical as I like to call it is creeping up on One Insular Tahiti in sales. We can’t let that happen, people! Buy something else, please! (no, kidding. i’m grateful for each sale. I just want to find a cute way to tell you to buy me. teehee)

there’s more there’s more, but if I write it all today, i’ll have nothing to write tomorrow. grin

Taste Test contest

Over at Gonzo Ink (my wordpress blog)
http://theaatkinson.wordpress.com

coming again in January 2011

The official GonzoInk Taste Test, where you, the reader, scan through 3 blurbs and decide just by description which ONE you’d read. No cover art to help you. No author name to distract you. No price to woo you. Just hardcore ...teasers.

Write your name in the comments section after you’ve voted and sometime between the last day of the month and the beginning of the next, i’ll gift the winning book to a random voter.

If you are an author who wants to participate, the only requirement is that your novel be 2.99 or less. Please email Theaexcerpts@gmail.com with your blurb, the title, and your name. I’ll notifiy you via email when you will be slotted for.

Return here, type a comment with your name and the indie book you’d like to receive then email me with the email address you’d like the book gifted to in case you win. (2.99 and under please, I’m a poor writer, remember?)

Spread the word i f you like to your Amazon friends.

Love Thea Day

Ok. so I log in to Amazon.com to see if there's been any movement on my poor Kindle novels.

Huzzah! it must be Love Thea day. No sales for a day, but 2 wonderful, very delightful, incredibly glowing 5 star reviews for One Insular Tahiti.

Am I pumped? You betcha. why? Cause they're strangers, silly. It's not my mom being nice, it's not my best friend trying to be helpful. They're honest to goodness reader reactions to my story.

I'm beyond pumped. I think I might explode.

Oh, i know the lesser stars are coming. Not everyone is going to like my writing, but heck. Some folks do. So there

Red Adept gives One Insular Tahiti 4.5 stars (out of 5)

I'm stoked. She had a few genuine concerns about the way the story didn't follow a serial timeline, but I'm ok with that. I always wanted it to be a global type read that comes together at the end.

4.5 is pretty darned good in my book with a 5 star for writing style

wooooot. Thanks to Red Adept
