Indigo Blog
[P]erhaps the strongest literary debut since "The Time Traveler's Wife" – and coincidentally, that novel's author, Audrey Niffenegger is a big fan of this one – and her readers will be as well. This novel announces Erin Morgenstern as the arrival of a major talent to watch in the world of fiction.

Hooked on Books
Every so often a book comes along that is so amazing that you want walk around thrusting it into everyone's hands. The Night Circus is one of those books. I want to go around and convince everyone they should read this book – friends, family members, complete strangers on the subway.

Hypable
[L]et's start off with what it isn't. First, it is not the next Harry Potter or Twilight. I have read both those series as well as The Night Circus and there is little to compare. There are magicians (not wizards), the love story builds over time but is not the only focus, and there isn't a vampire in sight. The book is also not Young Adult. That is not to say that it won't have major crossover appeal, but it won't be shelved in the YA section.

Books in Bloom
I absolutely love books that can grab my attention from the first sentence, and this book is no exception. From the very beginning, I was drawn into the world created by Morgenstern. She possesses the ability to invoke all the senses and make you feel as though you are in the story.

The Readiacs
I cannot tell you enough how wonderful this book was and how excited I am, personally, to see it come to life on film. Summit entertainment (who brought you Twilight) will be producing this film. It has been set for a release date of 2013. The audio book of The Night Circus will be read by Jim Dale, who read the "Harry Potter" series.

Fantasy Book Critic
Erin Morgenstern's debut is a special novel, offering readers a magical, one-of-a-kind reading experience. An experience that may vary depending on the person. For instance, some readers might find themselves enchanted by the turn of the century setting—the novel takes place between February 1873 and January 1903—with an enigmatic circus serving as the main attraction. For others, it could be the story, a non-linear narrative that cleverly begins where the novel ends, with a competition between two magicians, a love story that challenges fate, and a dreamer faced with life-altering decisions contained in between. In some cases, the novel's cast of charming and mysterious characters—Prospero the Enchanter and his daughter Celia Bowen; the man in the grey suit and his student Marco Alisdair; M. Chandresh Christophe Lefèvre, proprietor of the Night Circus; the clockmaker Herr Friedrick Thiessen and therêveurs; the Murray twins Widget & Poppet; the engineer Ethan W. Barris; theBurgess sisters Tara & Lainie; the fortune-teller Isobel; Mme. Ana Padva, a retired ballerina; the contortionist Tsukiko; the dreamer Bailey—might be the culprit. For yet others, it could be Erin Morgenstern's accomplished writing and elegant prose.

Magician vs. Magician
"The Night Circus" by Erin Morgenstern is the book every Neil Gaiman-loving girl with creatively dyed hair and authorial aspirations dreams of writing. A confection of heady imagery and dulcet prose, it appears this month in a hardcover edition as sumptuous as the circus it's named after, flaunting all the dazzle that can still be carried off by good ol' black-and-white (and good ol' print) when someone decides to pull out all the stops.
