Farrier's Fate

The heavy scent of sulfur filled his nose when he walked into the barn. An icy chill slid down his spine as he raised his lantern. A figure stood in the center of the barn. The farrier moved toward it. “You sent for me, sir?”
The figure in black let out a breath from the stump of his neck. Once there was a head there surely. Now only gore and bone, the creature gave off an odor of decay mixed with rose petals. He raised his arm and extended a long finger toward a stall.
The farrier nodded with...

Evan's Eagle

He walked through the wood and metal skeletons of the airship yard. Rows of dirigibles in various states of repair or construction, workmen shouting for tools or commanding parts be placed. A welder sent bright sparks of metal into the air as his blade cut down into a beam.
Evan brushed the hot sparks from his skin as he turned down the next row. That’s where he saw her, where he fell in love. She was almost finished with her outer framing the gas bag lay empty and lifeless within.

D is for Don't Touch

Imagine for a moment what it would be like if you couldn't touch. Not able to hug the ones you love, touch an everyday object without having a nightmare or at the least learning something you really might not want to know.

That's how it is for the main character in my novel Don't Touch. She has unlocked part of her mind that lets her see impressions left behind on objects or people. The ability is called psychometry or object reading. There are some who believe it is a psychic gift...

Banshee

It was nearly dusk and he was completely turned around on the forest trails. He hoped he was going in the direction of the cabin. After a few more minutes walk he could hear the soft swoosh of water rushing over rocks.

His lungs took a calming breath and let it go slowly. There wasn’t a creek anywhere near the cabin. He was lost. The canteen was almost empty, he should fill it while he had the chance.
With the sky turning a pinkish gold overhead he made his way off the trail toward the soft s...

April Altitudes

Flying High I’m still on a high after participating in such an awesome author event, Authors in the Park: Spring into Art. There were eleven other authors in the event held in the Renaissance Building in Mt. Dora, Florida. I was able to get acquainted with some wonderful authors as well as introduce new readers to my books.
A big highlight was a local book reviewer offered to review my books. Just check out the video below for all the wordtastic fun we had. If you’re a Central Florida author...
