Not weird, but first off, where did you get them?! I want some!

Also, thank you! I am really looking forward to completing The Good Counselor (and editing it. Not so much to marketing it. That part always sucks, but eeeeee it’s almost done!!!)

hauntedgardenbook:

The asphodel is a native of Sicily, and its roots were once enjoyed as food. But it was also strongly associated in ancient times with funerals, death, and the afterlife. It was planted around tombs to provide sustenance to beloved spirits. Inscriptions found on old Sicilian tombs included “I am nourished by the asphodel” and “Without, I am surrounded with mallows and asphodel, and within I am nought but a corpse.” Homer, in The Odyssey, described fields of asphodel that lay beyond the river Styx, bordering the paradise of Elysium.

therkalexander:

Hades would wait within the Plutonion for Persephone each fall, listening to her mother’s priests drone on as they prepared the masses for her departure and the barren winter ahead. His proffered hand would reach out from the shadows, and take hers gently, not daring so much as a squeeze of affection in front of all of Eleusis. None knew it was him, and he knew it would sully all of Persephone’s progress with the mortals if they knew that the feared Lord of the Dead stood in the shadows.
