Why a Special Needs Planning Lawyer Should Be a Part of Your Child’s Special Needs Team

Through all of your child’s life, there’s been a team of adults involved in his or her care. Besides parents and relatives, doctors, teachers, social workers, therapists, and psychologists could all be part of the team helping your child have the best future possible. However, the team isn’t complete without a Special Needs Planning lawyer. If all the other bases are covered – necessities, education, therapy, medicine, socialization, and community integration – without legal advocacy, then al...

What You Post Online Matters When Applying for Social Security Disability says Virginia Social Security Disability Lawyer

The Administrative Law Judges (ALJ) have started to actively Google people to find out information about them when considering Social Security case.   As a Virginia Social Security Disability Lawyer, I can tell you it really is in your best interest to assume that everything you post online is out there for anyone to see – including ALJs and the other Social Security examiners reviewing your case.

I’m not suggesting you become a hermit, or that you have to portray your whole life as miserable...

The Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA) is the first federal law guaranteeing that people with disabilities have the same opportunities and options to participate in all areas of life as non-disabled persons. Should You Have Your Social Security Disability Hearing Via Videoteleconference, or What is Called a VTC Hearing?

During the time you are waiting for a Social Security Disability hearing to be scheduled, the Social Security Administration (SSA) will send you a letter saying that your case can be heard more quickly and efficiently by way of  a VTC hearing.
