2021 Movies, Monster Movie Trivia, and Monster Music Trivia

2021 Movies

Here are some of the big movies coming out this year, most of which were delayed from last year. (Information from the IMDB.) We kick it off with a monster film I’m very excited to see after the recent trailers:

March 31
Godzilla vs. Kong
The epic next chapter in the cinematic Monsterverse pits two of the greatest icons in motion picture history against one another - the fearsome Godzilla and the mighty Kong - with humanity caught in the balance.
Director: Adam Wingard
Stars: Alexander ...

Movie Inspirations for The Window, Resident Alien Review, The Little Things Review, and Movie News

Four Movie Inspirations for The Window by Dave Cole

In The Window, Brian Bingham is able to see into the future through an attic window. When it reveals his best friend’s death, Brian must find a way to change the future…or die trying.
While I don’t always know exactly where the inspiration for my books come from, these movies could have been somewhere in the back of my mind as I wrote The Window.

The Dead Zone – Based on The Dead Zone by Stephen King

Johnny Smith awakens from a coma years after ...

Television Series Reviews

Wanda Vision

Blends the style of classic sitcoms with the MCU in which Wanda Maximoff and Vision -two super-powered beings living their ideal suburban lives-begin to suspect that everything is not as it seems.
You may have watched the first episode and really wondered if that was what this series was about. But, keep watching!
Structured like sitcoms in different eras, the episodes have moments of dread that make it creepy, especially in the middle of a wacky sitcom.

Disaster Series, Best Movies of 2020, Best Albums of 2020, and Love and Monsters Review

Disaster Series with Chrys Fey

Alex Asked: What’s the disaster in A Fighting Chance? TELL US!

Chrys Fey’s Answer: Yup. This is the first book in the Disaster Crimes series that doesn’t reveal the disaster in the title. Or in the blurb. Or the tagline. The tagline even says “a surprise from Mother Nature.” It says that because it is a surprise. The disaster is not the main event in this story as it is with Books 1-5 (Hurricane Crimes, Seismic Crimes, Tsunami Crimes, Flaming Crimes, Frozen Crimes)....

Science Fiction Tropes, Movie Inspirations, Top Christmas Horror Films, and Armored Saint: Punching the Sky Review

SciFi Trope: Space Travel is Easy

Sci-fi tropes can help us get to the heart of the story by sweeping issues like the difficulties of space travel under the rug. Unless a core element of a science fiction story is about space travel, it makes the most sense to deal in one of the trope methods.

Einstein-Rosen Bridges aka Wormholes aka Gates:
According to various articles, this may be the most scientifically plausible scifi form of travel. Seen in: Stargate, The Expanse, Thor, Avengers, Guardians o...

Movie Reviews

Tenet

From director Christopher Nolan (Inception, The Dark Knight) comes another mind-twist of a movie that deals with the concept of inversion. A man known as the Protagonist is given one word, Tenet, and sent off to save the world. This was the first major film released since March and I finally got to see it in the theater.

Nolan likes to take your brain and put it in a blender. Like Inception, this is very high-concept science fiction. You really have to pay attention from ...
