You're the number 1 reason for all your failures of success.
Thanks. People like you saying things like this are the reason people like me kill themselves.

Welcome to the space age, ladies and gentlemen
This is really quite a big deal. A tremendous amount of modern research ends up being sold to journals which require unreasonable payments to access it and only pay the original authors a pittance. It’s nice to see an agency like NASA deliberately widebanding its findings.
Not sure if people fully realize just how big of a deal this is.
THIS is how science is advanced. Not through biased corporate research, business secrets, marketing, paywalls and patent wars. But through open, uncensored and unrestricted public access to knowledge.

NASA IS GOOD, NASA IS GREAT
NASA is the hero we don’t deserve.
This deserves every reblog.
DOWNLOAD AS MUCH AS YOU CAN bc there’s good reason to believe this isn’t going to stay available.

Is Anna slowly but surely starting to "reach for the other side of the spectrum"? If so, I will happily donate a large portion of my homosexuality over to her.
Anna’s crush on Mickey will continue in future storylines, yeahs. It’ll be based on my own gay crushes where I inevitably realized I identified as bisexual. Except less boring.
Yes I am inferring You Suck will continue someday
i just saw the flag bearer for tonga in the olympics and he was so shiny i swore one of your drawings came to life. it was GREAT.
didn’t everyone used to be all oiled up and naked for the olympics, let’s just go back to that
Excuse me mr josh where can i purchase girly comics? i tried the shop but the link seems to not be working?
Comixology.
e-books are the only thing now, I’m afraid. It’s unlikely the print editions will ever come back. I’m sorry :(
At least you're not making rape glorification comics anymore.

steven is just whatever size they decide he needs to be at any given time he has no definite size or shape
actually, his size and shape depend on who is story boarding the episode. Also the crew of the show have stated that no character has a set height so it’s easier for storyboarders and animators!
it’s not easier, it’s lazier and it’s unprofessional and that’s why you get errors like this multiple times every episode
they teach you to make models and height sheets in school so that way everything can stay consistent and look professional

that pic shortened my lifespan
cursed image
It’s not unprofessional and lazy, its an artistic decision that the crew made that gives them a lot more freedom when storyboarding and animating. It’s a hand drawn cartoon m8, there are no rules
looks bad todd
Hi. Animator. Previous student. Worked in a studio. Knows what the fuck I’m talking about
It’s bad. It’s lazy. Part of your job as a lead animator is to be able to stay on model. You are literally supposed to draw it in the style provided to you in the character sheets. An animator’s job is not to be the creative visionary- that’s the directer and designers’. Your job is to make it look like it’s the same thing
If you can’t do that’ you should not be a lead animator of a hand-drawn cartoon lol. Not a good job for you
You wanna be creative and develop your own styles and stuff that’s great! That’s HOW new stuff is made. But not at work, when you’re on a team of ALL artists making a public production. How unfair is it to everyone else that YOU want to use your “artistic freedom” instead of your job while everybody else does what they were hired to do? Assholes who do this are literally the person at work everybody mumbles about to eachother. Don’t be a jack off
As much as I love Cartoon Network they have had some really shitty teams animation-wise for years now. They do what they can to get shit done quick and don’t care if it’s embarrassingly off.
Heya. Also a 2D animator, new hire in fact. I’m in effects. And even though I’m brand new, one of the first things I was told was to stay on-model.
Yep – even the visual effects, like smoke and water and fire, have visual styles that we’re supposed to stick to. If the running water is off-model, we have to re-animate it.
Model sheets are everything to an animation crew. It’s how you get consistency and a polished-looking product. To not create a model sheet, and even to have one and not stick to it, is pretty much unthinkable if the goal is to make a presentable final product.
Yo, 4 years experience in 2D, animation for Television.
It depends on the show and what sort of style they are going for to be perfectly honest.
Majority of shows really stick to the “keep everything on model all the time” and some prefer to break the models. Neither way is right and neither way is wrong.
I’ve worked on shows where it was extremely critical that stuff is on model. and I have worked on shows where they encouraged us to break the model/style. Let me tell you, I had WAY more fun working on the later.
Animation is an art form. Art is abstract.
^^^^ Yes this. Not every show is required to be on-model. It depends on what the directors and showrunners want. Consider stuff like Ed, Edd n Eddy (which the Crewniverse has experience on), or especially Ren and Stimpy, which often veered wildly off model. These shows are not any lesser just because they don’t stay on-model.
You don’t like it or you think it’s lazy? That’s nice. But you’re not the director, here.
Personally, I actually like the variation in looks, it gives a personal touch to each episode and I enjoy trying to see if I can deduce who boarded it based on the characters.
Reblogging for Lynx’s comment.
Saying “hi, I’m an animator” won’t magically prevent your animation post from being dumb and wrong.
Moreover, going off-model is much tougher than it looks, so fuck everyone who says it’s lazy right up their stupid ass
