And, if you want to learn the monster's origins, be sure to pick up a copy of Pill Hill Press's...

Acceptance: Freak Show

On Sunday, I wrote "Freak Show." It's a horror short story about a child monster, who features later in life in Once Upon a December Nightmare. The story turned out to be approximately 1800 words, and I submitted it on Tuesday to Pill Hill Press's Bloody Carnival. I let my sister read it, and she called it "creepy," so I believe I did my job.
On Monday, I came home from work to quite a surprise. I had two contributor...

And the winner is....
Tessa Quin!
Congratulations, Tessa! My sister picked your name out of the box as the winner of my "First Page Critique Contest."
If you didn't win, don't worry. Although Tessa will be receiving my only signed and printed copy of Once Upon a December Nightmare, it doesn't mean I won't be giving away an ebook copy soon.
Also, the winning excerpt was number three. That excerpt is the first page of my wip novel, Moonlight Murders. I will read through it a few more times, change it to their...
