Summer Vacation... What's a Vacation?

Summer vacation has officially begun here. Time off, right? Not so much, more like trying to work with my kids home all the time. On the upside, I don't have to get up to ship them off to school, which means I can sleep in a bit rather than the whole get up/get them off/realize I'm still dead/take a nap routine. Which should result in more productive hours in a day.


Except the kids are home.

So, I just got back from World Steam Expo last night. Holy crap, what a great time! I very much wish I'd paid for a room at the hotel but, considering I somehow didn't know about the con until only a few weeks before and it's close to my parents' house (30 minute drive), I didn't spring for the full-price room (con rate rooms were gone). In Case You Haven't Heard

Looking at Some New Options

Last week I talked about decision making. At the time I was weighing things, I only saw three options. I took a deep breath and looked at what the first step would cost me.

The answer? Too much. This is a fact that saddens me on many many levels.

However, it also made me look at things in a new way. Option 1 was completely off the table. Option 2 could be done with some modifications, but I didn't really like it. Option 3 was never really an option in my mind anyway.

The Dream that Was a Post and then Wasn't

This is what I look like after most dreams. So yeah... I was going to follow up last week's post (third most popular post ever--thanks, people!) with something that would be all O.O too. See, I had this dream the other night. One of those really intense ones. I was going to tell you about it and how it linked back to a post I did about heroes a while ago. Then it hit me that I didn't want to tell you because I really want to use it for a book.
