Weekly Recap in the L-Verse!

Hi All,

Here are some quick recaps of what’s happened this week in our corner of the universe.

Congratulations to the Winners in the Healthy Fathering Collaborative Contest!

On Thursday, the Healthy Fathering Collaborative of Greater Cleveland held its annual “Father’s Walk” where dads from the the Cleveland Heights area were encouraged to walk their child to school and take the following pledge:

I am responsible for the education of my child.
I will encourage all children to do their best every day at school.
I will speak to my child about the value of learning and the importance of reaching your potential.
I will help with school work and review assignments for completion.
I will praise my child when he/she does well in school.
I will speak with my child’s teachers and support them in educating my child.
I will teach my child the value of education and the value of family.
I will work with my child’s mother or guardian to achieve the best academic and social outcomes for my child even if I do not live with my child.

That’s barely the start of what they have to offer dads. They have programs for new dads, teen dads, employment training, faith-based programs and the list goes on and on. Please do check out their website and consider supporting their cause.  Visit http://neofathering.net for more info.

We are so very grateful to Steve Killpack for allowing us to be involved. What an honor!

Goodreads Giveaway Still Going Strong!

We’re giving away a free signed paperback copy of the book so if you haven’t signed up on Goodreads please do so here. The contest ends on October 15th!

Free Kindle Giveaway Huge Success!

Who doesn’t like free? I certainly do and with that we ran a 5-day Kindle version giveaway of Jupiter Chronicles in honor of the aforementioned Healthy Fathering Collaborative Father’s Walk. Hundreds of people downloaded the eBook so we’ll see what those folks will have to say on the Amazon website.

Finally, Being a bargain person myself I’m happy to report that the price on the paperback version has come down on Amazon! It now retails at $8.29 so get yours now here.

On a personal note, I just wanted to say thank you so very much for your kind support. Be it a retweet or a simple posting, it’s truly appreciated. Last week, Stacey posted this image on the facebook page and there is no shame in saying that if you’d like to help us move forward this is the way to do it.

You are the heart of the indie. You are what can keep us going. And it’s not just about words on paper or flights of fancy.

It’s about helping others.

Fun Times at Fairy Tales Bookstore!

Hi All,

What a blast we had at the 4th anniversary of the Fairy Tales Bookstore in Nashville. Magda the Story Spider was on hand giving her rendition of Anansi the Spider Man and other storybook favorites. It was a gorgeous day outside that we got to spend with fun people. If you’ve not been by the store please give Tammy and John Derr a visit at their store. This is their 2nd location located in beautiful east Nashville and you can find their website here. Tammy has always been very supportive of local writers which shows in her local authors section of the store.

In addition to some fantastic storytelling, there was face painting and costumed kids running around saving the day.

Callie Castillo (as played by Mackenzy Ramirez) was on hand as well and she had a blast and made new friends along the way.

Our signing table was on the porch and in the shade which made it a perfect spot to enjoy the sunshine and say hello to everyone coming in to the store. It seems that Tammy may have hand-picked everyone that frequents FT because everyone was so nice and stopped to just say hi as they came by.

The best part of events like these is that I get to meet new people and make new friends.

Visit the Fairy Tales Bookstore facebook page as well by clicking here. If you’d like to see more images from the event, please visit the Jupiter Chronicles Facebook page here.

Please don’t forget that there is a free signed book giveaway on Goodreads which you can find here and in honor of Father’s Walk Day put on by the Healthy Fathering Collaborative, we are giving away the Kindle version of Jupiter Chronicles which you can find here.

This giveaway ends on September 26!

All I ask is that if you download it, please leave a review on the Amazon website.

Weekly Recap at the L-Verse!

Hi All,

This week has been very busy for us but I did want to remind you of a book signing that we’ll have tomorrow at the Fairy Tales Bookstore from 11am-2pm so if you’re in the Nashville area please do stop by! We’ll be dressed in full Steampunk garb (including Callie from the book) and the store will be holding a superhero dress-up contest.

Should be fun!

In other news, this week I started working on book two of the Jupiter Chronicles series titled, The Ice Orphan of Ganymede. As with all things creative once you start something it takes a life of its own (which I’m glad for) so once I’m further along I’ll post a synopsis. I will drop one hint though: the Chrono Legion may be involved. They may be good. They may be bad. We’ll just have to wait and see.

If you’ve signed up for the blog previously and have noticed that you received a new subscription request please do sign up and my apologies for that. We recently changed hosts and the subscribers did not make it over. And yes, I’d love it if you shared this blog with your friends.

Check out this review by Inside Popular Books here.

Finally, don’t forget that there is a free signed book giveaway on Goodreads which you can find here and in honor of Father’s Walk Day put on by the Healthy Fathering Collaborative, we are giving away the Kindle version of Jupiter Chronicles which you can find here. This giveaway starts tomorrow! All I ask is that if you download it, please leave a review on the Amazon website.

Thanks so much for your kind support.
