Along with being a writer you're a Personal Coach and a Reiki Master, how do you feel that has helped with your writing?I'd have to say that coaching and reiki have helped me figure out what I want to be when I grow up! Actually, they have both helped me get to know myself better and realize that I like to create imaginative stories for kids. I've started to combine the coaching with reiki to

Today is the official release date of my second novel with Rhemalda Publishing. Rhemalda is a traditional Publisher out of Washington (which means this book is NOT self-published). Hello All,
Wow, I haven't done a post in here for a long time. So long in fact that I've just noticed Facebook has discontinued its "message all members" feature for groups (what a drag). However, I can still post this on the group wall, so there's fortunately still SOME way for Facebook people to interact with one another (I hope this interaction doesn't corrupt the PURITY of Facebook in any

Shells chats with director and screenwriter of House of Dust, A.D. Calvo
Where did the idea of House of Dust come from?
Back in 2005, a friend handed me a NY Times article about the long forgotten cremains of Oregon's mentally ill. So the story was inspired by true events, if you can believe it. I started thinking about what would happen if someone inhaled those ashes. Would they become "crazy" too? Take on their illnesses? That's how the story was born, out of

Should I Self Publish?
Hey All,
Sorry I've been so lax in putting up blog posts lately. I've been busy having adventures throughout the world (which I've been documenting on other people's blogs...here's one about how I ran the Inca trail with two Olympians...speaking of that, I think I need to do some battle scenes at altitude in my next fantasy novel since I can't think of anyone ever doing that effectively [by the

What prompted you to want to be a motivational speaker? As the founder and executive director of the Coalition for Peace of America, which is devoted to the task, I spoke to many at-risk youth and received so much positive results that I decided to continue speaking.
How important is it for one to look at their life and their surroundings? It's very important for one to look at their life

Shells chats with author Robert R. Best
With writing stories, do any of your life experiences float into characters or settings?
It's impossible to avoid, really. The best writing draws on the experiences and emotions of the writer. But it's risky to do it intentionally. You shouldn't go through your memories trying to find good fiction. You may end up in diary or wish-fulfillment territory. So I try to just write the best story I can

Shells Chats with Adam Mitzner author of A Conflict of Interest
How has being a published author changed your life and how does it compare to being a lawyer?I sometimes joke with people that it's a very thin line between begging your friends to read your work and them asking for you to sign a copy of your book. Other than that, however, my life is pretty much the same. I'm still going to work every day as a lawyer and dealing with clients, and then at
