Now many signs and wonders were regularly done among the people by the hands of the apostles. And they were all together in Solomon’s Portico. None of the rest dared join them, but the people held them in high esteem. And more than ever believers were added to the Lord, multitudes of both men and women, so that they even carried out the sick into the streets and laid them on cots and mats, that as Peter came by at least his shadow might fall on some of them. The people also gathered from the towns around Jerusalem, bringing the sick and those afflicted with unclean spirits, and they were all healed. Acts 5: 12-16
“Coincidentally,” this was the passage of scripture that I found myself reading, in my morning devotional. I start the day with the word…. always.
Peggy and I were down in Oceanside speaking at The Anchor, where Pastor Levi Moran has been “anchored” since 2012. He’s a great man with a heart for the Lord and the Lord’s people. I spoke for about 4 hours on Friday night, including some Q & A. Always a privilege to do so.
However, as some of you know I was battling a very nasty sore throat which came out of nowhere and hampered me the entire weekend. I could barely swallow and this kept me up most nights. I was exhausted by the time we left to come back home yesterday.
Traffic was some of the worst I have ever seen it and it took an hour longer than usual just to make it our undisclosed location deep in the heart of the Santa Monica Mountains, that we call home.
I was lamenting my situation and wondering how long this was going to go on as there was little relief. I was living on Fisherman Friends lozenges and spraying my throat every 15 minutes with a solution of Colidial Silver… without much relief from either.
Around dinner time I stopped in my tracks—I was getting the Bar-B-Que ready and I went into the kitchen and told Peggy.
“Its’ gone! My sore throat is gone! I’m healed!”
I was astonished. Yes, We had prayed and so had others while we down in Oceanside but nothing much had happened. Suddenly all symptoms were gone, vanished.
Now was this malady an attack from the enemy to keep me off guard while ministering at the Anchor? Was it a deliberate attack? I think it might have been.
However, countering the attack, people were praying as I received numerous emails letting me know the folks were not only wishing me well but praying for healing.
I think God acted. I think He showed up and when He does sickness and disease has no place in His space!
He is the God who heals all our diseases!
With that in mind.
Prayer changes things. It does. Thanks to all of you who covered us in prayer.
These folks need a touch too so let’s lift them up in prayer.
Jane: Cancer. Very aggressive brain tumor with no known cure. (There is bitterness in her life)
Richard H.: He’s had a long history of illness.
Richard Shaw: He’s got an eye “floater”and may need surgery.
The Ohio Conference!: The Lord would touch His people.

Can you imagine what the dough-heads in our media would be doing if these comments were made about Obummer and his daughter? Or Colbert’s remark about a Homosexual liaison with Putin?
Pink hats would be thrown into the air as the social-justice warriors would take to the streets. Ninja-suited-Soros-funded-demonstraters would be bussed into every major city. Airports would be shut down. Whoppi Goldberg Joyce Beher would be the new poster-girls of outrage.
Snowflakes would melt at the injustice of it all and coloring books would fly off the local stores shelves.
These latest outburst from left-wing so-called comedians are a water mark of how far down the rabbit-hole we are. If these remarks had taken place in the 1950’s these losers would be thrown off their TV shows in a New York Minute.
There is no common decency left in our country. In fact I would state that many people have no idea of what the term means or how it reflects in a persons demeanor and attitude.
The middle-finger salute is the most common gesture on our freeways. Road-rage is rampant.
Why you ask?
In my opinion what we are seeing is the manifestation of lawlessness. This is one of the signs of the end-times.
3 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;

I would posit that both Maher and Colbert have no idea of the above verses and in fact would scoff at them. Yet this passage of scripture defines their behavior to a tee.
[image error]To wrap it up. We are living in perilous times. Many churches won’t acknowledge the times we are living and many folks have their prophetic heads in the sand. The antics of Maher and Colbert are simply another sign that His return is imminent.

Sunday Go To Meeting Bun.
The BUN!

For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: Romans 7;18
I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. John 15:5
We live life in constant tension. Here’s what I mean.
We are saved by Jesus’s death on the cross, by His blood sacrifice the price was paid for the sin of all mankind. We are “washed” clean in His blood, which of course, is a great mystery.
We are saved by grace and not of works. We are born again and are new creatures in Christ.
Yet, we sin. As Paul admonishes us we do the things we don’t want to do and then he states this:
For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing.
I remember when I first read this I was appalled and angry. I didn’t want to admit this. I thought it was way over the top, and to harsh. Now, after almost 37 years of walking out my salvation I realize all to well how true this statement is.
My first mentor Wayne Kendell used to say this: “Another layer of the onion, Marzulli! Another layer!”
What Wayne meant was that like the many layers of an onion so is the depth of the human soul and with it our depravity. One of the gifts of the Holy Spirit that we seldom discuss is that He —The Holy Spirit—will lead us into all truth. I believe this can be applied to the “truth” about ourselves. In other words how far our depravity really goes. This is one reason why we as Christians are always under construction.
I have found out and testify here that I can do nothing without Him and that in my flesh really is no good thing.
Back to the tension.
So while He is making me into the man He wants me to be, I walk with His peace but wrestle with sin. I have to watch myself at all times. I have to check all thoughts. I have to guard my eyes and my heart.
This is why Paul tells us: All creation groans to be set free.
So with this ongoing tension in our lives we learn to rest in Him. We learn to rely on Him. We come to the startling realization that He is the Prince of Peace, the guardians of our souls, the One who was sent to set us free.
He is in the process of setting us free and this takes time. However, at some point, when we rise to meet Him in the air, we will all change instantly. We will be like Him. The tension we now live in will be gone. We will be clothed in our immortal bodies and will be The Lord forever.
In the meantime… As we live each day we draw close to Him. We acknowledge that we can do nothing without Him. We wait on Him to guide out steps. We present our bodies as a living sacrifice.
