Ask An Author, Win Some Swag, and Happy Holidays!

Greetings all, and as the Chaplain Skeptic says . . . Please accept with no obligation, expressed or implied, my best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low stress, non addictive, gender neutral, celebration of the inter solstice holiday, practiced within the most enjoyable traditions of the religious persuasions of your choice, or secular practices of your choice, with respect for the religious/secular persuasions and/or traditions of others, or their choice not to practice religious or secular traditions at all.

*deep breath*

Now, as I prepare for the ancient and hallowed Jewish Christmas tradition of Chinese food and a movie, I open the floor to you, my readers, to pepper me with questions for the upcoming Anchored blog tour . . .

Release Party Blog Tour w/Prizes Galore!

My new M/M erotic romance, Anchored: Belonging Book One , releases with Noble Romance Publishing on January 17. Like any sensible author, I decided that'd be a fine excuse for a celebration or six. Celebratory trip to the absolutely epic vegetarian Chinese restaurant I never get to go to because it's 90 minutes away? Check! Game day with my friends? Check. Plastering the interwebs with fun facts and prizes? Also check.

Starting on Monday, January 17, and running the whole of that week, I'll be ...

New Erotic Romance Website and Blog: Fantasy Unbound!

Greetings all, and welcome to the very first blog post at Fantasy Unbound with Rachel Haimowitz! (And I promise, that's the last time I'll ever talk about myself in the third person.)

It's my hope to make both the website and the blog an entertaining and enlightening experience for everyone, and for this to be an inclusive, open forum for folks to share ideas, talk books, shower me with praise, and keep up with all the latest comings and goings in M/M erotic romance.

Keep an eye on the website....

Partypartyparty and New Release News!

Greetings all!

I've been rather busy behind the scenes these last weeks, putting together a website (finally, eh?) and blog that will both be launching soon, and also organizing a blog tour release party for Anchored: Belonging Book One, coming January 17 from Noble Romance Publishing.

Before I get into the blog tour details (Fun! Prizes! Swag!), I wanted to share the official blurb for Anchored, which was approved this morning:

Network news anchor Daniel Halstrom is at the top of his field, but being at the bottom of the social ladder—being a slave—makes that hard to enjoy. Especially when NewWorld Media, the company who's owned him since childhood, decides to lease him on evenings and weekends to boost their flagging profits.

Daniel's not stupid; he knows there's only one reason a man would pay so much for what little free time he has, and it's got nothing to do with his knowledge of current events. But he's never been made to serve like that before, and he fears he won't survive the experience with his sanity intact.

He finds himself in the home of Carl Whitman, a talk show host whose words fail him time and again when it comes to ordering Daniel to bed. Daniel knows what Carl wants, but it seems as if Carl isn't willing to take it, and Daniel's not willing to give it freely. His recalcitrance costs him dearly, but with patience and some hard-won understanding, love just might flourish where once there'd been only fear and pain. Can Carl become the anchor in Daniel's turbulent life, or will he end up the weight that sinks his slave for good?

Neat, eh? (This is where you nod and smile ;-p) If you liked
Counterpoint, I think you'll enjoy Anchored quite a bit, as they explore a number of similar themes, and also share a thread of darkness. But don't worry: Anchored ends better :D

Now, onto what you really care about: the party!

Details are forthcoming, but for now I'll leave you with this:

The blog tour will run the entire release week, beginning January 17, making one stop each day at a different blog (and potentially multiple stops the first day for a bonus scavenger hunt). You'll find author interviews, character interviews, book reviews, exclusive excerpts, and more. Even better, you'll find swag. Each participating blog will be given an Anchored book swag package to raffle to a commenter. And at the end of the tour, I'll be raffling off some lovely prize packages to readers who commented on every participating blog, including free copies of Anchored and Counterpoint, gift certificates to the Noble Romance Publishing store, and lots of swag.

(If you're a romance blog owner with decent traffic and would like to participate in the blog tour or scavenger hunt, please drop me a message at metarachel (at) gmail (dot) com.)

I'll be posting more details about the party as the date draws near, but meanwhile, mark your calendar and get ready for some blog-hopping fun!

Free Ebook For Download!

Lots of exciting news this week, folks :) In addition to my new novel releasing on January 17 with Noble Romance, I've released a free ebook today right here on Goodreads!

Here, have a blurb:

Broadway darling Nicky Avery gives commanding performances on stage, but when he comes home at night, it's Devon Turner who commands him. Devon—that's "Sir" to Nicky, of course—owns Nicky heart and soul. And neither of them could possibly be happier.

Sublime explores the gift of submission and domination, and the love and trust that underpin a D/s relationship. The ten short stories in this collection (including six never before published) range from sweet and sensual to hot and hardcore, from cross-dressing to knife play, and so much more.

Dom or sub, curious beginner or 24/7 lifestyler, the stories in Sublime will tease and tantalize, arouse and thrill. And don't mind Devon and Nicky . . . they like to be watched anyway.

Sublime consists of ten short stories with the boys I hope you've come to know and love: Sir and Nicky. It includes six never-before-published stories, plus the three shorts I've posted here under my writing tab and the holiday stocking stuffer I wrote for the M/M Romance group.

And of course it features the amazing cover art I blogged about earlier this week. Visit the Goodreads book page to see it :-) And L.C. Chase, take a bow; you are one talented gal!

You can download Sublime in the file format of your choice on Smashwords. In about a week, the book should be available directly through Amazon, Sony, and B&N for their respective e-readers.

If you enjoy the free reads, please consider taking a moment to rate, review, and pass on to your friends.

New Book with Noble Romance!

I've been dying to say something about this for weeks, but had to wait until it was official: today I signed a contract with Noble Romance to release a new novel, tentatively titled Belonging, on January 17, 2011 :D

Belonging is an M/M erotic romance, of course, but it's quite a departure from Counterpoint. No elves and Dark races in this one, folks. Just modern-day Manhattan, a network news anchor named Daniel and a talk show host named Carl, and oh yeah, slavery. Not the fun leather-and-spankings kind, either. The real thing.

Belonging explores the concept of worldwide institutionalized slavery in the modern day. And the network news anchor? Well, he belongs to his network. The network is leasing him out to Carl on nights and weekends, and you can bet that Carl isn't paying all that money to discuss current events. Poor Daniel has no idea how to handle his new master, but Carl is patient; he's not interested in an unwilling partner. Thing is, he's starting to realize that he might have to wait for a long, long time.

So, that's it :) I'll post more information as I have it, and hopefully I'll have some excerpts and maybe some cover art to share with you folks before the official release. Hope to see you all there!

HOT New Cover Art!

In the next little while, I'll be releasing a collection of BDSM short stories featuring Nicky and Devon (or Sir, to you :-p), the boys who've starred in the freebies I've posted here on Goodreads. This collection too will be free, at least for a while, and will comprise the freebies already posted, plus half a dozen or so new stories never before released. It's my intent to make it available as a download for whatever e-reader you might have.

Of course, to put out a collection, one needs a cover. I was quite fortunate to have the brilliant and talented L.C. Chase step up for this particular task. So without further ado, I present to you L.C.'s cover for my new collection, Sublime. Isn't she amazing? I seriously could not be happier :D

So You Want to Write a Romance Novel . . .

Alas, I can't seem to embed video, so follow the links for this hilariously informative four-part series :D

Part 1: Chapters 1-3
Part 2: Chapters 4-10
Part 3: Chapters 11-15
Part 4: Chapters 16-20

On a different note, my free holiday short story posted today in the M/M Romance group. (If you're not a member, don't worry. You can join, or you can download the story free in a couple weeks.) It's 2,000 words of Sir and Nicky at (pony) play. Enjoy!
