Mark Chandos is a modern American epic poet and philosopher.

During 21 years as a pilot in combat, Chandos survived three explosions in his desert service and began to have visions. These visions became the Kosmoautikon Epic Cycle.

He believes that epic poetry is the highest expression of human speech and that all civilizations are linguistic creations based on the epic texts (bibles, myths, political and scientific narratives). Deeply studied in history and philosophy of the Ancient world, Chandos reexamines Western literature showing that all human narratives, including all epic poetry, from Gilgamesh, to Homer, to Milton, contain a map of cosmology.
