A Sneak Peek at Book Three

Always in Shadow_KINDLE For those of you who have been waiting patiently for Book Three of the Never Cry Werewolf series — Always in Shadow: A Novella, will be published this week.

Moonlight is Relentless…

Boarding school escapee Shelby Locke narrowly avoided capture by the Seven Horsemen, the brotherhood of hunters that nearly killed her werewolf boyfriend, Austin Bridges III.  Now she and Austin, son of the lead singer Burning Bridges, are on the run to Muldania, ancestral home of the furry.

But this visit with the Bridges family is about more than spending Christmas in a castle with rock stars.  Shelby needs the serum the Bridges werewolves use to control their lycanthropy — it’s clear from her strange cravings and sensitivity to moonlight, that Austin infected her the summer before.

It’s far from a silent night in Muldania — there are suspicious villagers with ties to the Seven Horsemen, sarcastic vampires that work for the band, and an obnoxious European pop princess staying at the castle.  Worst of all. Austin is overcome with guilt for infecting Shelby.  She worries he may never be able to love the creature she’s about to become.

The Bridges insist on keeping Shelby in lock-down for her wolf’s safety until after the full moon, but a legendary cure found high in the mountains might hold a permanent answer.  If Shelby can track it down, she can prevent the change forever.  But without support from the pack, she’ll have to sneak away and find it alone.

Will she hold off the pull of the moon — and, more importantly, will Austin and Shelby ever believe they are perfect mates, furry or not?

The final transformation awaits Shelby and Austin in this third installment of the popular Young Adult romance Never Cry Werewolf.

I’ll post a link to the downloadable e-book when it’s up and running…

Aaaaaaaaaaaooooooooh!

An Update on Book Three

Hello and ahooooooooo!

A page from the work in progress!

A page from the work in progress!

It’s been a long, busy year but I am finally in the finishing stages of Book Three of the Never Cry Werewolf series.

It’s another novella sequel that follows Shelby after her escape from the evil Senefelder Academy for girls, and it takes place mostly at the ancestral castle of the Bridges family, deep in the heart of Muldania.

I’m hoping to publish it in final form at the end of January — so stay tuned for more news on that.

In the meantime, I wish all of you a happy and safe holiday season!

Werewolf update…

Hello!

A while back I told you that I was working on a top secret project — In the spring I finished it and I started work on Werewolf 3.  Yay!  It was going great, but then a few months ago I had to circle back to the top secret project to do some revisions.  So… that postponed work on Werewolf.

I’m happy to say that I’m writing on Werewolf 3 again.  It’s taking up most of my nights, and I’m making good progress.  I’m hoping to have it ready this fall, so fan of Austin and Shelby can finally enjoy the third part of the story.  Thanks to all of you who have written in to ask how it’s going and to request more!

Maybe there will be news on the top secret project soon… keep your paws crossed for me.

Love & Light,

Heather

Writing, Writing…

It’s a gray May in the Pacific Northwest — a perfect, rainy time to be writing about Muldania.  Thanks to all the readers who wrote me about NEVER CRY WEREWOLF and SOMETIMES BY MOONLIGHT, I am finally working on Book 3 in the series.  Yay!

I hope to have it finished in a few months so everyone can see what happens to Shelby when she leaves Senefelder Academy for Girls in the company of Austin and his father Fuzz.  It’s been really fun working on Austin’s family and his castle in Muldania.  (Did you know werewolves like Pork Rinds?  Do you remember Eva Maleva, Euro-pop star seen in the tabloids in the beginning of Book 2?)

I don’t know when the story will be done.  I don’t know what the cover will look like.  But — I do know it will be more of the same fun werewolfy capers (though things are getting a bit more dangerous these days) you’ve come to expect.

Love & Light,

Heather

Writing Mascots…

Harper and Atticus oversee everything...

Time is flying by and I've been hard at work on the secret project. I hope to have news about it sometime soon.  And, I know… you're waiting to hear about the third book in the NCW series.  I'm hoping to get time to write that soon.  Thanks for all the encouragement on that, guys!

So, I thought you might enjoy a picture of my writing desk, complete with the two feline mascots — Harper (Siamese/Rag doll) and Atticus (black American shorthair).  Atti has been trying to dethrone Harper from the top bunk of the cat tree and now that he's finally a little bigger than she is, he did it!  This picture was taken on one of the last days of her reign…

Anyway, these two buddies keep me inspired and laughing.  They like to jump down onto my writing desk, so if you ever see typos in my books… well… I blame the cats.

I've been sitting on this funny ball, because they say it's better for your posture.  But, being the hunched over writer girl I am, I don't think it's going to help.  Still, as I write to you — I *am* sitting on the silver ball, so I guess the jury's still out on whether or not it will eventually make a difference.

Thanks for stopping by the site to leave comments and say hello.  I love hearing from my readers and I'm so happy to be bringing you a new story soon.

Love & Light,

Heather

New Year! OMG.

At Vegas Valley Bookfest with awesome fans Nieves and Velvet!

I can’t believe it’s 2012. I knew that I was looking forward to a fresh year – a fresh start – but here it is and I feel so behind. I’m in the finishing stages of polishing a secret project (CATS!) and getting lots of emails about if there will be a third installment in the Never Cry Werewolf series. There is so much to be done.

I can say that I’m starting the year grateful for the year we’ve just finished. I went to Rome, published the Sometimes by Moonlight e-novella, was nominated for a RITA award for The Clearing, and saw the debut of Wherever You Go, which is getting awesome reviews. It’s been a busy year.

I’m so thankful for all of you readers — especially those of you who write in to tell me how you liked the book. It seriously makes my day and makes me remember why I write. I write to entertain (myself and you) and I write to inspire. I hope all of my books remind you to be who you are and to go for what you dream of.

Happy New Year — love and light!

Wherever You Go Book Birthday!

Hey Everyone!

WHEREVER YOU GO is officially out on Monday, November 14th!  That means this week is book birthday week.

We celebrated with a launch party at my favorite indie bookstore, Queen Anne Books in Seattle, on Friday night.  It was great to see so many friends and to celebrate together — but I'm still eating the leftover cupcakes!  And, though I didn't make any of the great food Holly cooks in WYG for the party, we ended up at a pizza/pasta place after the bookstore, which seemed fitting for the Santucci/Mullen family.

The other big thing happening this week is that Harper, my cat, is getting a little brother kitten.  I'm going to post pictures on Facebook when Atticus finally gets here.  He's been in a foster home for a month or so, getting ready to live with people after being rescued.

Light and Love, everyone!

Heather

October 3, 2011

Where in the World is Heather Davis?

I swear I'm here, guys — sitting at the computer, working away.  I spent the end of summer working on a top secret project (does not involve werewolves or time-travel) and trying to deal with the rainy weather.

Next month is release time for WHEREVER YOU GO, so I'll likely be back online, posting more often as things start to gear up for the launch.

For those of you who follow the doings of Harper, my business manager, she's been spending the summer sunbathing in the window and batting around water bottle caps.  I pay her way too much.

Hugs!

Heather (and Harper)
