I had been living a lie. My marriage was empty. We laughed and got along in public but we were non-existent to each other in our private life. I used to think I had it all together... married with 3 small children, corporate trainer, life coach, with a huge circle of loving friends and family. One day all of that came to an end. The facade fell. And I saw myself crumbling with it.

I simply didn't have the luxury of staying in the abyss of pain. I had 3 sets of eyes - my children - watching me. And I knew that no matter what I said, the only thing that would matter was who I 'BE'. How I was going to handle this and who I was creating myself to be would be the greatest teaching I could ever offer my children.

Inspired by them, I entered into what I think has been the greatest catalyst for my spiritual development.

I won't kid you, there were big ass bumps along the way... and there still are... but the personal resolve to use this experience as nourishment for me to become the greatest version of myself makes those bumps... well, bumps. I'm no longer in the business of making mountains out of mole hills. Those drama, victimhood days are over. Thank God.

In meditation one day I received a clear message (one I resisted but resistance is futile). The message was to make my journal into a book. I resisted the Voice. These were my private thoughts... I didn't want them 'out there'. But like I said, when Spirit directs you, resistance is futile. I realized that the insights I was having were so free-ing and I was actually arriving at a place of elation. Yes, elation. And I realized then that as uncomfortable as it was to have my stuff 'out there', it would help others arrive at their own place of freedom.

So the book Thank You for Leaving Me was born. It chronicles the freaky moments and the insightful ones in it's own crazy non-linear formula. Healing isn't linear and neither was my process. I could be wise and full of possibility one day and then scared shitless the next. Such is life. We are always moving and weaving through these cycles.
