An artist bored with the city life and a Manhattan lawyer itching to escape his father’s control wind up in a New Hampshire campground. A coincidence? Not likely! Excerpt:She raked shaking fingers through her hair as tears threatened to spill. How could she have done something so irresponsible? What if she’d hit a child? She carried insurance and would offer to pay his medical expenses. Did the Trumbulls already call the police? If his aunt and uncle talked him into going to the emergency room, could she go with him to the hospital? She’d found M. Henry Campbell again and she wasn’t about to let him out of her sight, especially since he owed her an explanation. To her embarrassment, her body had softened at the sound of his voice, and the memory of their kiss.Abby held back tears and rushed to the camp office. As she stepped through the door, a bell tinkled overhead. Mr. Trumbull entered from their apartment in the rear. His grim expression softened.“Miss Hunter, please don’t worry about the accident. You wouldn’t hurt my nephew on purpose, would you?”“Of course not. I wasn’t paying attention because I thought someone followed me from town.”“Do you have a reason to think a person would do such a thing?” He flattened his hands on the desk between them. She nodded.“Suppose you tell me—”“Later. I promise. Is Mitch okay?” “A paramedic is on the way. My nephew needs a few stitches.”Find all the Buy Links on my BOOKS page HERE

A Meddle of Wizards by Featured Author Alexandra Rushe

A Meddle of Wizards is the story of Raine Stewart, a sickly young woman who is swept through a portal to the world of Tandara, where magic and monsters are real. In Tandara, Raine finds adventure, friendship, and the gradual return of physical well-being. To her shock, she also discovers that she may have magical powers of her own . . . and that a bloodthirsty wizard wants her dead.
Meddle was my teething ring, as a writer, and it’s very special to me—I started writing it when my oldest daughter was four years old. That toddler is now twenty-six. I’m thrilled to share the story with readers, at long last. Many thanks, Nancy, for inviting me to visit your blog, and for sharing in my excitement!
Book Blurb from A MEDDLE OF WIZARDS
Welcome to Tandara, where gods are fickle, nightmares are real, and trolls make excellent bakers . . .
Raine Stewart is convinced she’ll die young and alone in Alabama, the victim of a chronic, mysterious illness. Until a man in a shabby cloak steps out of her mirror and demands her help to defeat a bloodthirsty wizard.
Raine shrugs it off as a hallucination—just one more insult from her failing body—and orders her intruder to take a hike. But the handsome figment of her imagination won’t take no for an answer, and kidnaps her anyway, launching her into a world of utmost danger—and urgent purpose.
Ruled by unpredictable gods and unstable nations, Tandara is a land of shapeshifters and weather-workers, queens and legends. Ravenous monsters and greedy bounty hunters patrol unforgiving mountains. Riverboats pulled by sea-cattle trade down broad waterways. And creatures of nightmare stalk Raine herself, vicious in the pursuit of her blood.
But Raine isn’t helpless or alone. She’s part of a band as resourceful as it is odd: a mage-shy warrior, a tattered wizard, a tenderhearted giant, and a prickly troll sorceress. Her new friends swear she has powers of her own. If she can stay under their protection, she might just live long enough to find out . . .
An Excerpt from A MEDDLE OF WIZARDS
“Where am I?” Raine demanded. “The mirror you entered was a portal to another world. You are in Tandara.” “Right,” she said, her heart thumping to beat the band. “Let’s say, for argument’s sake, that I buy your cock-and-bull story. I’m in this . . . this Tandara. Why am I here?”“An object of terrible power has been stolen from the gods.” “You mean, like a weapon?”“Exactly.” Brefreton nodded in approval. “It is called the Eye. If it falls into the wrong person’s hand, it could mean the end of our world.”“Sucks, but what’s that got to do with me?”“Long ago, it was prophesied that Hara, your twin, would gain mastery over the Eye—”“Whoa.” Raine held up her hand. “Back up. I don’t have a twin.”“But, you do. Her name is Hara and you were separated at birth. You were taken to Earth for safekeeping. How and by whom, I do not know. The gods themselves did not learn of your existence until recently.”Raine grabbed the stone ledge to steady herself. “You’re telling me I’m from Tandara, and that I have a twin.”“Yes.”“So, where is she?”“Where she has been her whole life—under Glonoff’s thumb.”Raine stared at him in confusion. “Who is Glonoff?”“A wizard, a dark and mighty sorcerer with an insatiable lust for power.” Brefreton’s expression was grim. “Glonoff is determined to control the Eye. With it, he means to subjugate Tandara. To that end—and based upon a prophecy that your sister will control the Eye—he has raised Hara from infancy to submit to him. “Raine’s head swam. “If this . . . this Hara can control the Eye, why not kidnap her instead of me?” Brefreton gave her a level look. “I don’t think it was your sister the seers saw in their vision. I think it was you.”“You have got to be kidding.” Raine stared at him in astonishment. “I can’t operate an electric can opener, much less do magic.”“That remains to be seen. In the meantime, should Glonoff find the Eye, he cannot wield it.” Brefreton’s lips curved in an unholy smile. “The Dark Wizard has the wrong twin.”

Shimmer: The Beginning is FREE

Besides giving you a free book to read, hoping you will take a chance on reading Spark, Smoke, and Smolder, I am looking for reviews on Amazon and Goodreads. How else will other readers know this book is an enjoyable read?
Here is an excerpt from Shimmer: The Beginning
Duff raced to the back of the cave, and searched through several dusty chests. The sea chests, stolen from pirates after he watched them bury them in the sand along the coast, were filled with gold coins, sparkling gems, and… “Aye! Clothing!”Pulling several garments from a battered chest, he strode back to where Robina stood. His breath caught, again. Flames danced in her eyes, and the flickering light and dancing shadows turned her curves and delicate limbs into a mouth-watering treat. He stumbled, dropping his armful of furs and woven wool to the ground. “Where did you find all this?” She walked closer and knelt amid the garments. As she stroked one woolen cloak, as red as blood, his groin tightened, and his human manhood twitched. What he’d give for her to stroke him with those fingers. When she glanced up at him, and must have noticed his response, she asked, “Join me?” He didn’t wait for her to ask twice. Kneeling beside her, he stroked her hair, and smoothed it over her breast. In this form, she was lovely. When her mouth widened into a welcoming smile, she was even lovelier. They settled together into the soft garments, facing each other. When his fingers stroked over her curves, she sighed. Slipping a finger inside her, he found her wet and ready. The thought of joining his human form with hers made him hard as stone. Lowering his mouth, he kissed her, then filled her with one, deep thrust. Her gasp made him fear he had rushed her. “Lass? Be you well?”
As he waited for her answer, she wrapped her legs around him, and tugged him so close he could barely breathe.Sound interesting? Please stop by one of these book distributors and give it a try!

Precious Stone by Min Edwards

Suspense Series.
This Romantic Suspense is by Min Edwards
Blurb :
A gift of thanks to a young girl from the Tsar more than 100 years ago... and now the Russians want it back.
Collee McCullough, the owner of The Bakery in Stone Bay, Maine, has a perfect life until early one morning men in suits come calling. She has something someone dangerous wants. Something that her Russian great-grandmother Natasha took when she fled Russian in 1913. Too bad Buka never told her son or anyone else what she had or where she left it.
Jake Elsmore, visiting Stone Bay to sell his mother’s house, walks into The Bakery for a cup of Earl Grey tea, but gets more. There she is. Stepping out from behind the Chief of Police, a lovely, fiery-haired fairy toting a shotgun while two men lie insensate on the floor of her shop. Looks like that tea will have to wait
Excerpt:
“Stop right there. My brother is the police chief. He comes in about this time every morning to pick up his coffee. He’ll kick your ass then throw your skanky butt in jail.” This was a load of hogwash because Stone Bay didn’t have an actual jail. Collee McCullough’s brother, Nick, processed prisoners quickly and transported them to the sheriff’s department in the county seat. The only cell was his spare office, which he kept bare of any furniture except a chair and a card table. He called it his conference room. The Stone Bay Police department was relatively new, and Nick had only been the chief for a little more than eighteen months. However, a jail extension on the police/fire department building on the hill was planned to begin in a month. She didn’t think this situation could wait a month though.“Colleen Natasha Onegin?” The bigger of the two men asked with a small crooked grin, almost sinister-looking.“No, Collee McCullough. You must have the wrong woman.” Yes, her name was Colleen Natasha, but who the hell was Onegin?“I don’t think so, my dear,” the man growled low in his throat as he came closer. She kept her eyes glued to him but noticed in her peripheral vision her brother stepping up onto the sidewalk just outside the door. He saw the interlopers because he gave her a wink, the rat, and nodded his head slightly. Then she watched him slowly reach for the handle on her front door.In the next moment, that front door slammed open shattering the glass, hitting the second man who’d remained at the entrance in the back and throwing him across the room. Chief Nick McCullough stormed through the destroyed door, gun drawn, a menacing look on his face. “Get back to the kitchen, Collee. I’ll take care of this.”She didn’t have to hear another word. Her brother was beyond tough, serving four tours in the military police in Germany, Iraq and Afghanistan. He could take care of her and anyone else in his sphere with his hands tied behind his back, and by the story she heard from him one night while he was, as they say, in his cups, he’d once done just that.

Nancy Lee Badger Interviews Author Jeannie Moon

Jeannie Moon stopped by to share intimate details of her writing life and to tell us about her latest book. Then Came You, a contemporary romance was released on September 26, 2017. Please tell my readers a little bit about your book.
Jeannie- Then Came You is a contemporary romance that celebrates second chances. Set in a small coastal town on Long Island’s north shore, it’s the first book in the Compass Cove series. The book, and the series, focus on characters finding their true north—their place to belong. Filled with colorful characters, and a centuries-old romantic legend, the town is as memorable as each of the romances. In book one, Mia and Adam appear to be polar opposites, but they both landed in Compass Cove for a fresh start.
Nancy- I just got back from Long Island, visiting relatives and the 'old family homestead' in Huntington! This sounds like a book for me. Back on topic: when did you start writing toward publication?
Jeannie - I started writing in 2000 and it took me 12 years to get my first contract.
Nancy- Did you have several manuscripts finished before you sold? If so, did you send them out yourself?
Jeannie - I had three books finished, but I sold a proposal for a new series to NAL’s digital imprint, Intermix. The editor knew my work and wanted to work with me so she asked me to take a stab at an idea. I did send some out on my own, but I have also worked with agents, some good, one not-so-good.
Nancy- Why have you become a published author?
Jeannie - The reason I achieved my goal is because I didn’t give up. Nancy- "Never give up, never surrender" are the words I live by. What is your writing routine like?
Jeannie - I have a full time job, so I write at night, usually an hour or so, and I do a lot of writing on the weekends. If I’m close to deadline, I’m up at four in the morning.
Nancy- Having achieved your goal to be a published author, what is the most rewarding thing?
Jeannie - The romance community is the best thing. I’ve met great people, from authors, to readers to bloggers….I love the people.
Nancy- Are you a member of any writing organizations and, if so, have they helped?
Jeannie - I’m a member of Long Island Romance Writers and CT-RWA, both chapters of RWA. I’m published because I’m active in my local chapters. They’ve given me knowledge and resources I couldn’t get on my own.
Nancy- I love my local chapter, and the on-line RWA chapters I belong to. Wonderful, diverse, and helpful people. Will you share some encouraging words for authors still struggling for that first contract?
Jeannie - Don’t give up. It can take years sometimes, but if you keep learning, keep working, you will find success.
Nancy- Please Share three fun facts about you that most people don’t know.
1) I keep a stash of Nutella in the house. I’m the only one who knows where it is.2) I can sing.3) I’ve been in more than one pro-sports locker room.
Nancy- What’s next for you?
Jeannie - Book two in the series is with my editor and comes out in the spring. It’s called You Send Me .

My Trip North, Chased by Hurricane Jose

While Hurricane Jose made the Long Island Sound a bit choppy, and managed to dump rain on us while visiting my cousins, it did pause long enough for me to take photos of relatives' graves. Thank you, Jose.

Due to having moved to Raleigh, North Carolina several years ago, visiting family and friends we see once a year is a treat. Some have aged (as have I) and some are no longer able to party until dawn (yep, that's me, too). I am happy everyone had a good time and I think my volunteers under the Information Tent did a whiz-bang job helping the approximately 40,000 people that enjoyed the 2017 New Hampshire Highland Games.

'Thor' was a big draw. The Mountain/Sir Gregor from Game of Thrones is also a weight-lifting champion and gave a great show. Did I mention he lifted a car?
Now that I am back home I need to get back to work, writing, especially since I sold a manuscript to SoulMate Publishing! I am again a published author, but will continue to share my self-published novels with my readers. Have you checked out my latest series?
