Demo release party @ Rocketship in Brooklyn on Feb 5th

They've hung a bunch of original art from the new Demo series as well. I'm wicked psyched.

Also Comic Book Resources posted a preview of the first issue, which drops on Wednesday!!

Can I get a Hell Yeah?

Nation X #2 - Jan 13, 2010

So Nation X issue 2 comes out next week, on January 13th! Why am I so excited about this? Well for one JUBILEE is back! I can't wait to read her story, by CB Cebulkski and Mike Choi. She was always one of my favorite X-men, I loved her huge ass earrings and yellow trench coat. Is she even a mutant anymore?? I thought she lost her powers on M-Day! Aaslkdfjl! I love her. Anyway, another reason why I'm excited is because I have an 8 page story in this issue that I wrote, drew and colored called ...

Demo - Waking Life of Angels screenshots

Via Brian Wood's Whitechapel question answering session (for lack of a better term to call it!), three screenshots from the first new Demo issue, out in February. Enjoy!

(That cathedral still haunts my nightmares...)

(I actually did dream about it while drawing these pages...)

Demo - PANGS

Written by Brian Wood, art and cover by Becky Cloonan .

The series with a self-contained story in each issue continues with a shockingly dark tale titled "Pangs!" Frank's rail-thin, barely eats, lives alone, pukes at the smell of breakfast, works in an office full of idiots, avoids lunch, hates chicken, hates seafood, hates socializing... He's completely unlike the woman at work he's becoming obsessed with. Despite all that, though, find out just how disturbingly far Frank will go to win her...

Dusk

Here's an illustration I did a few months ago in Brazil. It was actually a freelance job, but this abov isn't the final, it's cropped and the main elements were taken out, but this is some of the background and stuff. This is actually one of the only pieces I've done completely in photoshop- except the sketch, which I basically painted over. For this picture I was thinking a lot about Eyvind Earle and his work on Sleeping Beauty, really inspiring stuff.

So I've been finishing up my short story...

New DEMO cover- The Waking Life of Angels

I'm a little late with this- I blame traveling, jet lag and jury duty!! XD

The Vertigo blog has released the cover for the first of the six new Demo stories. For those of you who don't remember Demo, it's written by Brian Wood and Illustrated by me :) The first 12 issues can be found in Graphic Novel form, published by Vertigo.

Quote Brian: This one is called "The Waking Life Of Angels" and deals with, very broadly, dreams and pre-cognition. It's also one of the very, very few Demo stories...

Omg Japan

I just got back from a 3 week trip to Japan and Thailand- I still have severe jetlag (Bangkok is 12 hour difference from NY!) and I'm tired and a little confused, but it's great to be home.

I also put up a bunch of photos on my Facebook page- to avoid cluttering up this blog post.

For the sake of brevity, I'll try to keep this short- it was my first trip to Japan and my second to Thailand (my first was in 2008)- And everyone says Japan is awesome, omg you gotta go, so I knew it would be cool bu...

King Con, it totally happened!!

King Con totally happened this past weekend at the Brooklyn Lyceum, a strange but conveniently located building on Fourth Avenue in Brooklyn. So I'll admit I had doubts about this convention, it seemed from where I sat to be pretty disorganized and a little last minute, but the con went off without many hitches, definitely a success for a first year con. The programming was good (if also a little cold) and the setup of the floor was organized (if also a little cramped).

The Lyceum itself was ...
