I should know by next week the exact date when the second edition of book 5, Angel Promises Fulfilled will be printed and then i will announce my next touring schedule which will be in Alberta in June. So please keep checking Facebook and our blog and Publicity tab for announcements of the new touring schedule.

BLURB ON Back of soft cover….
————————————————————————————————————-
Henry couldn’t get over the fact that he had purchased Jenny’s home! It was all there in her diary that he had just discovered the day before. How they had met in 1956 and instantly fell in love and the wonderful summer that followed, only to end when Jenny’s family moved away. Although separated for thirty-two years, their love was sustained by an angelic power that had never waned. If only he had known sooner that his teenage sweetheart was critically ill in the care home just miles away…the time they could have spent together!
Incredibly, Camilla, too, had just discovered the truth that Jenny is her birth mother and on her death bed in the care home that Henry is racing to! Fear grips Camilla at the thought of losing her mother again…will she ever find out if Henry is her birth father?
Even Father Engelmann had been astonished to learn that the Jenny he had been seeing in the care home for the past few months was the same young girl that had frequented his store so long ago – and Henry’s first love. He knew there was something special about Jenny Hamilton… but how could he possibly have known? In his final act of love and in hope that the two lovers can finally realize their deep love for one another, Father Engelmann offers his life for Jenny’s. There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for a friend.
Will the Lord accept Father’s plea to take his life for Jenny’s?
Can Camilla and Henry reach Jenny in time?
And what of Jenny and her wish to her guardian angel to see her beloved Henry and Camilla before she dies? Can her angel’s solicitude to God answer Jenny’s prayer?

Angelic letters strike a chord with readers

It is extremely rare for a Christian fiction novel to appear on the Globe & Mail’s bestselling book list, but Henry Ripplinger’s books consistently do. In 2012 and 2013, one and sometimes three of his Angelic Letters books made the Globe’s top 10.
“Christian books are a genre that seldom gets recognized on bestseller lists,” Ripplinger said. “I really consider it a miracle that these books are so well received.”
Ripplinger considers the whole thing a miracle. The Lumsden-area resident has had a varied career as a professional artist, high school teacher, guidance counsellor and businessman, but his dream was to write the ultimate self-help book.
Interestingly, the inspiration came to incorporate all he would have said in a Christian romance story. In 2005, Ripplinger began outlining what would become a six-book saga following the lives of two Regina teens, Henry and Jenny, who fall in love but are separated by circumstance and design.
The first book, Pewter Angels, was released in 2010; the second, Another Angel of Love, in 2011; the third, Angel of Thanksgiving, in 2012. The fourth, The Angelic Occurrence, came out this year, with the fifth scheduled for the spring.
These are not short books. The Angelic Occurrence finishes at 578 pages, but readers are not daunted. Even those who claim to be nonreaders are devouring every word and wishing for more.
Ripplinger receives hundreds of emails from readers.
“They identify personally with characters,” he said. “Some say the characters feel like their personal friends or family members. One woman wrote, ‘I’m on my knees praying (Henry and Jenny) will get together.’ ” Ripplinger has self-published all of his books. One reason is because his previous business experience had shown him “what it takes to be successful in the front end.” Marketing through major chains and bookstores all across Canada, he has sold nearly 100,000 copies and the demand is growing. Chapters/Indigo has a huge promotion in the works for the release of book five.
Marketing has involved exhaustive book signing tours across the country, but Ripplinger enjoys interacting with the people. “I don’t know how many times people walk by and say, ‘No thank you,’ only to return a few minutes later to say, ‘I feel compelled to buy your books.’ ”
The Angelic Letters series has taken on a life of its own, one that amazes even the author.
“I am personally overwhelmed by the response. The books are obviously touching a chord and meeting a need. I believe people are searching for meaning and purpose and direction in their lives. The real essence of this story is the life lessons revealed by the characters, especially Mr. Englemann, an endearing and wise mentor who is living out the word of God. He has become a special person in Henry’s life and in the readers’ lives as well.
“Over and over, the books stress the need to begin each day in quiet prayer and meditation, reading God’s word and absorbing his truths. When we do this, we are prepared to begin the day and grow and live with meaning and purpose.”
Ripplinger’s books have won several awards. The first book in the series, Pewter Angels, won two Gold Medal Independent Publishing Book Awards in Religious Fiction in 2001-12, and the Living Now Book Award in the Inspirational Category from the same body. His manuscript was chosen out of the 4,000 books submitted from around the globe. The second book, Another Angel of Love, won the 2012 Silver Medal Independent Publishing Book Award in Religious Fiction.
“I never considered these books to be a ministry or a ministry tool, but more as a way of getting people to think about the spiritual side of their lives,” Ripplinger said. “I must admit, when the first book was released and I began receiving emails from readers, I was amazed at how strongly people were affected by the spiritual side of the book’s contents.
The lives of the characters seem to intertwine with their own. Over and over, I hear how helpful and inspirational the books have been for readers.”
“I have come to realize that life lessons and insights are far better absorbed intellectually, spiritually and emotionally when they are revealed through a story rather than by listing a series of dos and don’ts – which I would have done had I written a self-help book in my earlier years. Clearly, the good Lord waited until I was ready and had lived through more of life’s experiences before inspiring me with this one.
“These books are fulfilling a lifelong passion I’ve had to help others find meaning, direction and purpose in their lives.”
Ripplinger’s Angelic Letters books are available locally at Costco, Indigo and McNally Robinson Booksellers. For more information, visit: www.henryripplinger. com.
