We're going back to banking for this week's new feature that we want to see in Dynamics GP - Intercompany Bank Transactions. This is something I would really like to see in GP. If you agree, please follow the link to vote.

Learning More » Richards Attic
Richard Whaley is Learning More as he starts to write about GP 2013. I'm finding the same thing. I keep learning about things that are in the current product that I either didn't know about or haven't used much so I forgot that they were there.
I think the clear lesson is that if someone professes to know everything there is to know about Dynamics GP, don't walk away, run.

Mohammad R. Daoud: Selecting a New Microsoft Dynamics GP Partner
Mohammad Daoud has some suggestions for Selecting a New Microsoft Dynamics GP Partner. I think that there can be some differences when selecting a partner for a new implementation versus a change for an established entity but I'll let you read Mohammad's piece and draw your own conclusions.

Weekly Dynamic: Override AR Writeoff
In Dynamics GP you can set a maximum write off amount for a customer on the Customer Maintenance Options card. (Cards | Customer, click options). This works great for controlling small writeoffs, little short pays, etc.
At some point though you'll need to write off something larger. A great way to do this is to add a password to exceed the maximum write off. This is set in Receivables Setup.

At one time or another you'll have write off's and GP gives you lots of options.[image error]

Viewing your GP Security in SmartList using a SmartList Builder setup
From the Dynamics GP Support and Services blog comes information about Viewing your GP Security in SmartList using a SmartList Builder setup. This includes 3 new SmartList Builder based security reports that you can import into your system.
Of course, you could always use PowerPivot and Excel to create a pivot table on the security tables or the Security Profiler in the Support Debugging Tool find and fix denied access or FastPath's Assure to identify separation of duties conflicts.
Now you have another tool.[image error]
