Everyone is an author. Everyone is an explorer. Deep down, we all love mapping the journey of our own lives. For me, writing has always been a way to explore that curiosity and make sense of where I’ve been—without worrying too much about titles or labels.

My first step in sharing that exploration is this collection of poems, Wordy Islands: Among Perishing Thoughts. Many of these poems were born during my medical school days in Nepal, a time when I often felt like a misfit—lost in daydreams about existence while my classmates focused on the science of living beings.
