Once someone starts using your mobile app, they need to know where to go and how to get there at any point. Good navigation is a vehicle that takes users where they want to go. But establishing good navigation is a challenge on mobile due to the limitations of the small screen and the need to prioritize content over chrome. Different navigation patterns have been devised to solve this challenge in different ways, but they all suffer from a variety of usability problems. The XD Team has posted an article that examines five basic navigation patterns for mobile apps and describes the strengths and weaknesses of each of them.

Registration for Adobe MAX 2017 is now open. This year MAX is going back to Las Vegas, where we'll be at The Venetian Oct 16-Oct 17 for the preconference and Oct 18-Oct 20 for MAX itself. Register by July 31st and you'll qualify for the early bird registration price of USD$1295 (a $300 savings off the full conference price).
