Quinn interviews Lily!
The kind folk at Miz Love Loves Books invited me for an interview a while ago and I thought I would post it here today - just for fun.
I was having one of my armpit days (for those of you who don't know I have a thing for male armpits - YUM! - read all about it HERE) and I decided it would be a giggle to have the lovely Dr. Quinn Gilbert, from my novels Shared and Shared Too, give me a consultation about my maschalophilous problem (yes, armpit lust has a real medical name!) Here goes - let me know what you think :-)
Quinn leans back in his leather office chair, steepling his fingers beneath his chin. "I'm so glad you came to your appointment today, Lily. I think it's important to have these sessions to keep your condition under control."
Lily crosses her legs and stares at the wall of impressive medical certificates and accolades to her right; she's seen them several times before. "It is under control, I'm doing fine." Her foot bobs, the pointed toe of her red stiletto stabbing the air.
Quinn raises his brows. "That's because my secretary sends you reminders and then calls you the day before to remind you to have your therapy." He pauses. "Plus you know I would be round to smack your naughty little butt if you didn't attend."
He smiles wickedly and Lily can't help but twitch her lips back; the thought of being spanked by Quinn is just too delicious and her fractious mood lifts.
"So," he says now her attention is harnessed. "Tell me what goes through your mind when I hold up these pictures. The first word which jumps into your head." He flashes the top card of a high stack.
Lily's eyes widen. "Mmm, sex."
Quinn puts the card to the bottom of the pack and makes a note. "And this one."
"I want him to lift his arm higher. He's being a bit shy about flashing all that lovely pale skin, because it's bound to be paler under there with a tan like that."
Again Quinn places the card to the bottom of the pack and scribbles on Lily's notes. "This picture; first thing to pop into your head. One word."
Lily squirms on the chair, uncrosses her legs then re-crosses them, allowing the opposite stiletto to jiggle frantically.
"Lily?"
"Er, breathless. It make me er…feel a little short of breath," Lily says, tugging her lip with her bottom teeth.
Quinn sighs. "Last one."
"Oh that's not fair, that's a double one. You know that always make me go funny," Lily complains, swallowing tightly.
"Lily, tell me what it makes you think of."
"Okay, okay, it makes me think of the smell, of running my fingers through wisps of armpit hair coated in a thin, fresh layer of sweat."
Quinn nods and after making a final note pushes his chair back and stands.
Lily's eyes drift to his pert behind as he turns to the window and stares out over the city of Cardiff. His butt is so neat, high and perfectly outlined by his black suit trousers. All those pictures have made her pulse rocket and her cheeks flush. Seeing a perfect butt does not help the situation.
"It seems," he says, striding around to Lily's side of the table and perching his delectable rear on the edge, "that there's been little progress since our last meeting."
Lily looks up at his stern face, at his dark eyes and the peppering of stubble coating his jawline. She tilts her chin. "Well, I think there has. I've been back to the gym when 'he's' been there."
"You mean the one who caused you to fall off the treadmill and get a second degree burn on your knee because he started bench pressing in front of you?"
"Yes, him. It's under control, seriously. I was completely fine, even when he was only wearing a vest top."
"Mmm, well that's good, I suppose."
"Great, see, that's progress." Lily reaches for her purse. "Can I go?"
"No, not yet."
"But why?"
"We haven't finished."
Lily tightens her lips. "I didn't even think this was your speciality," she huffs, folding her arms.
"It's not, but I have taken a special interest in your case."
"Lucky me."
"Don't be ungrateful." He points at her purse. "Pass me your cell."
"Why?"
"Just do it."
Lily opens her bag and hands him her small pink cell.
"So how was the holiday in Thailand?" he asks conversationally.
Lily smiles. "It was wonderful. The hotel was palatial and we were treated like royalty. I had a great time with the girls."
"Sounds nice. Must get over there myself one of these days. I keep promising Ariane a holiday."
"Yes, I recommend it. Great food, fabulous scenery."
Quinn's eyes capture hers. "So you took lots of holiday snaps on you cell's camera then. Memories of your trip away?"
Quick as a flash, Lily lunges for her phone but Quinn is too fast and too tall and lifts it out of reach.
He shakes his head. "It seems that your scenery photographs are not the sort you find in the average holiday brochure." He holds up the phone and flashes the on-screen picture at Lily.
Lily stares at the picture. "Oh, but I was on holiday! Hot sun, sea breeze, a group of hunks playing volleyball on the beach. Endless hours of entertainment made all the more perfect with the addition of a pina colada. What's the harm?"
Quinn shakes his head and presses a button on the left hand side of the cell.
Lily touches her fingers to her lips. "Whoops! Yes, well, he was a bit grumpy that I was taking his photo without asking."
Quinn sighs. "This isn't good, you know. You really should have been able to employ a little more restraint. Didn't you use any of the techniques we've been teaching you?"
The next photo flashes up.
"Well he didn't mind me taking his photo," she says.
"He was asleep."
Lily shrugs and raises her brows.
Quinn clicks to the next shot. "And him. He just happened to be in that pose, did he?"
"Oh, no, I asked him to do that and he was very obliging." A red flush spreads over Lily's cheeks. "He was in the cabana next to ours. Real friendly guy."
Quinn shakes his head and frowns at the final picture. "Where on earth was this taken?"
Lily reaches for her phone, and this time Quinn allows her to take it.
She sighs wistfully. "This is Mani. It was hot in the airport lounge, the air conditioning was down and our plane delayed. Loads of guys stripped."
A lift of Quinn's brows let's Lily know she will not get away with dodging the truth.
She frowns. "Okay, so I suggested raising his arms to help increase his body surface area, a great way to cool down because all the blood vessels expand—"
"Yes, Lily, I know about vasodilation." Quinn clicks his tongue and folds his arms over his chest. "There is only one thing for it—you'll have to come back in and undergo adverse therapy."
"Adverse therapy?"
"Yep, it's a new trial. You will be subjected to several hours of photographs of ugly armpits, like this one."
He reaches behind himself and turns over an A4 size piece of paper. Lily gasps and looks away, the sight of a boil-infested pit too awful to settle her gaze on, even for a second.
"It will be hard," Quinn says, "but it is the only option."
Lily gets to her feet, straightens her grey pencil skirt and stands side by side with Quinn. She sets her purse on the table and is thoughtful for a long moment. "Just have your secretary send the appointment." Suddenly she turns and struts toward the door, her pace quick, like a captive prisoner making a bolt for freedom.
"Lily," Quinn calls after her.
Her footsteps are loud taps on the polished wood and her dark hair swishes down her back.
"You will come for the therapy, won't you? It's important," Quinn shouts.
But she's gone, and only the subtle floral scent of Anais Anais lingers. Quinn turns to his desk with a frown and reaches for her file. "Oh, Jeez," he mutters.
The stack of therapy photos have all gone. Every last one.

Excerpt
Pearl Lewis looked up from her sewing, needle poised above the small square of white fabric. "What did you just say?" She stared at Frances, one of two childhood friends who had come for afternoon tea, taking in her flushed cheeks and devilish smile. Frances's words had held such a hint of daring, of non-conformation, that Pearl wanted her to repeat them just so she could revel in them again.Sitting on Pearl's left, Frances smiled and shook her riot of blonde curls back from her face, the corn colour enhanced by the sunlight streaming through the two windows behind their wing chairs. "I said, would you not just love to visit the new men's club and become one of their women?"Pearl tried to hide a smile. Frances's shocking statements never failed to amuse her. She dropped her needle to her lap and covered her mouth with one hand. Her cheeks flushed at the thoughts Frances's suggestion brought, and she closed her eyes for a moment to sift through the images. Men fondling women—Oh God, how…naughty!—women touching men there, and several people at once, all naked, all having…sex.Pearl opened her eyes to find her other friend's face directly in front of hers, Elizabeth's black hair hanging rod straight as she hunkered down and placed her hands on her knees. Her dark blue eyes were hooded due to the unsightly frown she wore, and Pearl started, slapping her hand over her heart."Oh, you scared me, Beth! I did not expect to see you there like that."Elizabeth leaned closer, head tilted, the ornately carved mahogany mantelpiece behind her framing her as though she were a painting. Elizabeth regarded her with such scrutiny Pearl grew uncomfortable."What did you see just then?" Elizabeth asked, her voice quiet, a hint of reproach in her tone. The case clock beside the crackling fire ticked for several seconds, and her mouth formed a tight pink line that did not become her. She whispered, "With your eyes closed. What did you see?"Pearl cleared her throat and looked away from Elizabeth to Frances, who smothered a giggle behind her long, slender fingers. Pearl tried to convey that she needed help by widening her eyes, butFrances made much ado about continuing with her sewing, pursing her lips in concentration."I…I really do not think," Pearl turned back to Elizabeth, "it is proper for me to say."Elizabeth widened her eyes and reared back, as though in shock that Pearl had refused to share her thoughts.Pearl rushed on. "Oh, it is not because I do not want to share. I do, but you are so…sensitive about certain things that I would hate for you to leave here somewhat…disturbed.""Disturbed?" Elizabeth stood abruptly and paced up and down the cream and blue patterned rug before the fireplace, her dark green dress swishing with each step. "Whatever do you mean?" She paused, staring first at Frances and then at Pearl. "Oh! You were not thinking…you did not…?"Pearl clamped her lips closed, nodded and looked down at her lap, picking up her sewing. "I thought things I perhaps should not have, Beth." She jabbed the needle through the material—a handkerchief she was embroidering on each corner—and pricked her finger. "Ouch!" She jumped up, placed her sewing on the chair seat and popped her finger into her mouth. The taste of copper flooded her tongue."Really, Pearl! You are almost as bad as Frances." Elizabeth paced again, throwing an appalled glance at the blonde. "I wish you two would hurry along and get married like me. Then perhaps you would not wish to discuss such a thing as being a gentleman's harlot. Pearl, your mother and father would spin in their graves if they heard even a snippet of the conversations you two have, and it is a blessing your aunt is old and easily fooled. If she were to walk past this door she would never let you leave this house!"Pearl chanced a peek at Frances, who eyed her from beneath lowered lashes, her lack of control obvious as her cheeks reddened and her mouth curved. Frances released a peal of laughter, throwing her head back.Pearl giggled, unable to remain chastised. "Oh, Beth, please! Surely you know Frances was only talking. It is not as though she intends to do such a thing." Pearl looked at Elizabeth. She stalked back to her seat and sat with dignity and grace. "One never knows with Frances," she muttered, lifting her reticule on to her lap and dropping her sewing inside. "And, much as I love you both, I really do not feel I can visit for afternoon tea once a week if the conversation is going to revolve around things like…that. The gentleman's club of which you speak is situated in a terrible part of the city, so I heard. Frances, how you could even contemplate visiting such an establishment, even if it were in a respectable part of London, is beyond me." She glared at Frances, then stood and hung her bag over her forearm. "And to think only an hour ago we were discussing the terrible murders that have been occurring," she paused for her usual dramatic effect, "in the very same area!" Sharp lines marred her forehead. "I shall wait out in the foyer. Gerald will be here shortly to collect me." She flounced from the room, shutting the door loudly behind her.Pearl stared at the door, her mouth hanging slightly open. Frances's laughter filled the room again, and Pearl turned to look at her, ready to admonish the young woman, but she failed. Her own laughter spilled, loud and hearty, and tears welled in her eyes."Oh, we should not laugh at her, Frances."Frances composed herself and adjusted the neckline of her rose-pink dress, patting it once satisfied it lay in place. "She has become so priggish since she married Gerald that I cannot stand it. I say these things to rile her, you know.""I am well aware of that." Pearl smiled. She took her sewing from her seat and put it on the round occasional table between their chairs. She glanced out the window at the front lawn, spying Gerald's coach trundling up the curved driveway. "He is here. Should I see her out?"Frances snorted. "Oh, leave Mrs Prissy to see herself out. If she sets eyes on us any more today she is likely to explode. Besides, your aunt might have waylaid her. I hear someone talking."

TREBLE ANTHOLOGY
I am very much looking forward to getting my head down on edits for my story in Treble Anthology, which is being published by Total-E-Bound and will be released in September 2011.
I am so in love with this cover, anyone who knows me will be aware of my 'thing' for male armpits, so this image works particularly well for me :-)
And just look at the list of other authors, Desiree Holt, Lisabet Sarai, Imari Jade, Wendi Zwaduk and Elizabeth Coldwell. Aren't they just a dreamy, heart-stoppingly talented group. OMG! I am so excited.
My story in the anthology - Orchestrating Manoeuvres - is about a broken-hearted supermodel and a couple of drop-dead gorgeous Italian pianists. The theme of the anthology is threesomes and music combined, and my story turns hotter than hot and certainly had steam hissing from my fingertips as I tapped it out!
Check out Total-E-Bound here.

FROZEN!!

Today I just had to shout about a really great book I have just finished. It's called FROZEN and is written by Kat Holmes and let me tell you its one hot read!!
FROZEN is the first in the ARTICA'S LIGHTS series. Here is the blurb.
Brent Larkin came to Antarctica to study penguins. He didn't come looking for either adventure or romance. But when a freak storm blows in and he loses his way, that's exactly what he gets. Attacked by some bobbing lights, he suddenly finds himself in a wintry forest surrounded by men with swords pointed at him. The next thing he knows he's in a dungeon and chained to the wall.
Awni is the queen of Artica, a land of eternal winter. The daughter of a god, Awni's cursed to never know the touch of another. Her icy skin is death for anyone who dares to touch her flesh. But, when a mysterious stranger shows up in her lands, she finds herself drawn to him. Eager to learn about his world, she invites him to spend time with her only to be shocked when he touches her and doesn't freeze to death.
But Artica is a land ruled by tradition. Though she longs to keep Brent with her, the laws of the land force her to send him home. But without him, both she and the land begin to suffer. Now, Awni is facing the same peril as one of her ancestors. And if she perishes like her ancestor did, all of Artica will pay the price.
Can Brent, returned to his own world, somehow find his way back and save her before all is lost?
I am certainly looking forward to reading more by Kat, she has great imagination and a wonderful way of making the unbelievable, believable.

Today's guest - Lucy Felthouse chatting about why paranormal stories keep flowing from her fingertips.
Lucy, it is so great of you to stop by. Please tell us about your love of all things paranormal.
Thanks, Lily :-)
I very much enjoy writing paranormal tales, erotic and romantic. There are many reasons why, but the main ones for me I suspect, are: I find it very absorbing when I read it and hope I can draw people in in the same way; there's always an element of danger and the unknown and finally; you get to make up your own rules.
When I started writing my f/f paranormal erotic romance, BITE WITH HEIGHT, I didn't worry about vampires being done to death, if you'll pardon the pun. I had a very definite – and impressive – setting in mind and I wrote with that focus and just hoped everything else would slot into place. Luckily, it did. I got to include elements of reality and fantasy in a romantic story and I even lost myself when I was writing it, which is always a good sign for me.
Here's the blurb for BITE WITH HEIGHT:

When Meg spots a young woman alone in the Pigalle district of Paris at night, she's intrigued. She has to know her story and find out why she looks so sad and alone. After introducing herself, Meg realizes that she and Grace have a lot in common. But when they decide to go and grab a drink together, they discover a mutual love that could bond them forever.
I have to say Lucy, I read this book last week and devoured it in one sitting, it's a great story. What else have you had out recently that falls into this sub-genre?
SUCCUBUS COMES HOME is another good example of a story I had lots of fun writing. Again, I love reading in that genre and felt it would be very easy to write an erotic succubus story – but to pull in a romantic element – that was more difficult. After giving it some thought, I thoroughly exploited the idea of making up my own rules and added a fun yet cute twist in the tale which changes everything. It's early days yet, but it's had some good comments so far – let's hope more readers enjoy what I did!
Here's the blurb for SUCCUBUS COMES HOME:

When Alice meets Antony in a bar, she's taken aback. As a succubus, Alice is well used to the love 'em and leave 'em lifestyle. But there's something intriguing about Antony and she can't put her finger on it. When the truth comes out about Antony, how will Alice react? Will she be willing to take a risk for love?
Note: This story has been previously published in the Cleis Press anthology, Dream Lover: Paranormal Tales of Erotic Romance.
This one looks intriguing, can't wait to get my hands on it! Thanks so much for stopping by today, Lucy and sharing the details of your erotic stories.

CINDY JACKS - LANDLOCKED
The fabulous Cindy Jacks has a brand new release out at Ellora's Cave - yum - can't wait to get my hands on this one!!
BLURB
For ten years, Kathryn has struggled to survive in a war-torn region that used to be part of the United States. Her country ripped apart and her husband presumed dead, she and her son need a miracle to find safe passage to the West. She's not expecting that miracle to come in the form of Captain Brett Logan when he stumbles, injured, onto her front porch.
A privateer for the Republic of Texas, Logan keeps one eye on the horizon and one hand on his sidearm, knowing the life of a modern-day pirate is often short. When an enemy bomb nearly ends him, Kathryn nurses him back to health. Against her better judgment, she's drawn to the enigmatic man with his tattoos and battle scars.
Kate finds shelter in Logan's arms—and his bed. The captain navigates her body with the same skill that he sails the seven seas. The heat of their passion gives way to deeper currents. But with danger surrounding them, they must struggle to stay together and survive.

ONE WILD WEEKEND
Last week I came across a great short story by a new author to me, J C Holly. Its called One Wild Weekend and it had me hooked from the first page. When I'd finished I wasted no time in sending a quick email to JC to tell her how much I loved it and she has kindly dropped by today to give me some inside information on herself and her book. Take it away...
Hi!
My name is JC Holly, and I'm a new author of erotic romance. I currently have one ebook out with Total E-Bound, titled 'One Wild Weekend', and more coming soon. Lily was kind enough to offer to let me post on her website, so I decided I'd write a little about why I enjoy writing erotic romance. It's not just the sex. Honest.
Prior to writing the piece I mentioned above, I'd never strayed further than sweet romance, and in fact spent most of my time writing fantasy. One night, while working on a particularly flirtacious scene, I got a little... bored, with the way things were going and decided to spice it up a little. Or a lot.
The resulting debauchery was entirely out of place for that particular story, but it got the cogs in my head whirring. Three days later, One Wild Weekend was born. I'd like to say it was written over one wild weekend, but I think it was mid-week.
Writing it was quite the experience, in more ways than one. Not stopping at the bedroom door (or park bench, in one scene) allows you to take a much larger snapshot of your characters and what makes them tick. You get to strip off all their layers (both literally and figuratively), allowing you to see some of their biggest secrets, and seeing them in the most intimate of times leaves you feeling like you really know them. At least, that's what I aim for! :o)
Fantasies become reality for one couple as they share a wild and sexy weekend
Bobby and Chris' relationship is starting to stagnate. They're constantly bickering, and haven't had sex in weeks. On hearing this, Bobby's assistant suggests they take a long weekend to explore each other's sexuality—though she uses rather different wording - and work on each other's fantasies.
As luck would have it, Chris' friend is out of town on a business trip, and agrees to let them use his cottage up in the hills. Gorgeous surroundings, a horny boyfriend, and an agreement between them to make the others' sexual dreams come true. What more could a girl want?
Thanks again to Lily for the opportunity, and thanks for reading!
