Covid Jab Immunosuppression: Why Infectious Diseases Are on the Rise
Dr Alejandro Diaz
Over the last few years, I’ve had the privilege and honor of speaking in some of the most important global health forums. The topics discussed in these forums are information of the highest level. This information provides a broad epidemiological outlook on global health, but what about the feeling on the ground? I believe treating patients is vital to my understanding of the current state of health.
What I’ve seen in consults recently is alarming—immunosuppression like never before. The rate of infectious diseases, particularly upper respiratory infections, is through the roof this season. The long duration of symptoms is what has caught my attention the most.
I attribute this to widespread immunosuppression, stemming from the toxic injectable materials so-called “COVID vaccines”, and the rest of the pandemic-era “public health” policies. Beginning with the insane restrictive measures that were implemented worldwide and continuing with the rollout of the jab. The result has been an unprecedented immunocascade. It is estimated that approximately 5.5 billion people around the globe took at least one dose of the COVID Vaccine. Imagine the level of widespread harm.
The immune system is composed of a complex and unique set of molecules. It can be described as the summation of all those physiological processes that endow the host with the capacity to recognize “materials” as foreign and neutralize, eliminate, or metabolize them with or without injury to its tissue. This ability to differentiate “self” from “nonself” constitutes the basic hallmark of the immune response. Recently there has been a lot of talk about “new” viruses like avian influenza (H5N1) which has been around since the 1960s. There is also mention of RSV and Human metapneumovirus (HMPV) known since the early 2000s with recent outbreaks in China. All these “outbreaks” are different versions of the same agenda of fear and critical mass formation psychosis.
After the COVID op, everything is sold out as an outbreak. However, few people have realized that all these infections have existed for many years. Due to the different measures taken during the COVID operation, including and especially the jabs, weakened immune systems aren’t able to respond accordingly. This is why we are seeing a rise in respiratory illnesses, and other health problems like turbo cancer.
At scale, people have not yet begun to understand the true consequences of these COVID-era policies. Policies that “experts” implemented to supposedly mitigate the spread of an infectious disease (COVID), forced the entire globe to isolate for nearly an entire year. What resulted has been an entire generation of immunosuppressed individuals, particularly children who were in their age of prime immune system development. The consequences are just barely being shown. This is only the tip of the iceberg.
It’s not as though new pathogens are springing up out of nowhere. Instead, people now have suppressed immune systems incapable of fighting off simple infectious diseases that have been around forever.
What is true, is that infections are up. The UK, for example, reported a ‘tidal wave’ of flu cases in hospitals this season.
QUICK PARENTHESIS
Isn’t it interesting that during the COVID Op, all respiratory infections were labeled as COVID until proven otherwise? In the same time period, the flu seemed to disappear. Interestingly, after a 3-year hiatus, the flu is back. Doesn’t that seem suspicious?
Obviously, this is being used as an excuse to promote further vaccination.
The so-called “novel” viruses, while they may have been around for some time, are being artificially pushed onto the public.
The McCullough Foundation recently published a research paper in the Poultry Fisheries & Wildlife Sciences Journal. This study looks into two laboratories that have been conducting gain-of-function research on H5N1, leading to the possible conclusion that these recent outbreaks may be the result of laboratory leaks.
A “manmade problem”, as Dr. Peter McCullough describes it, just as the COVID Operation was. There seems to be coordination here. They are purposefully pushing these diseases to spread fear and incite information warfare, taking advantage of the fact that there are now more immunocompromised people.
They’re pulling out the same playbook as they did for the COVID Op. They are trying to create a perfect storm in a renewed effort to exert further control of people.
Fortunately, the collective consciousness is elevated, and I’m certain that people won’t fall for it the same way that they did before.
Compromised immune systems are at the heart of the problem here. Strengthening them will be key to fighting off these coordinated bioattacks by utilizing early treatments such as nasal sprays, nutraceuticals, and natural remedies to prevent and treat these diseases effectively.
Trust has been greatly eroded in conventional medicine, as I have mentioned repeatedly in my articles. In the middle of all the chaos that surrounds the constant barrage of fear and health crises, patients must have options. Trusted messengers that they can look to and trust when it comes to their well-being. There is an increased awareness worldwide. People are starting to look for better health options.
There is no doubt that a new shift in attitude is required. An alternative/parallel healthcare system must be built. It should revolve around specialists who understand these basic principles of care, not those who have been captured by rhetoric and indoctrination of the medical religion.

A Fragile Victory – Details of Ceasefire in Palestine
The Cradle
After 15 months of a brutal and relentless genocide that took the lives of over 50,000 Palestinians, a Gaza ceasefire has finally been reached. The truce deal marks a devastating victory for the Palestinian resistance, achieved at a staggering human cost, and a political loss for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the occupation state.
Unless Netanyahu pulls an unexpected move, which seems improbable for various reasons – most of them tied to demands from the incoming administration of US President-elect Donald Trump – it is clear to all involved in Doha, Cairo, Istanbul, and Washington that the agreement to halt the Gaza genocide has been finalized and is now underway.
Sources familiar with the negotiations reveal to The Cradle that the announcement delay on 14 January stemmed from an Israeli “final attempt” to manipulate withdrawal maps. Tel Aviv sought to insert the term “withdrawal from populated areas,” which implied maintaining its forces in “open areas” near civilian zones.
This effort was thwarted by “decisive American pressure.” On 15 January, further delay arose from disagreements over who would announce the agreement: the Qataris, Americans, Egyptians, or a joint conference. “Everyone wants to pick the image of achievement, but the balance is weighted in favor of the Qataris,” explains one of the sources. In the end, Qatar announced the ceasefire due to its pivotal position in mediating the deal. A few hours later, US President Joe Biden also announced the ceasefire.
Two months prior, Qatar temporarily withdrew from mediation to secure a US mandate from the new administration. Washington, recognizing Qatar’s “distinguished relationship” with Hamas, sidelined Cairo and resumed negotiations in Doha instead.
The ceasefire will take effect on Sunday, 19 January, just one day before Donald Trump’s inauguration. This timing is partly attributed to US efforts to shape optics and partly to allow logistical preparations by the Israeli army in the Gaza Strip.
Key details of the agreement
Hamas and Israel have agreed to a phased approach, balancing both their immediate and long-term goals. The deal includes the release of 1,000 Palestinian detainees, including 250 prisoners serving life sentences, women, and minors under 19 years old. Israel also agreed to withdraw from key areas of the strip, notably the Netzarim and Philadelphi axes, facilitating the return of displaced Gazans to the north without preconditions.
A significant element of the agreement was Hamas releasing 33 or 34 Israeli prisoners still held in Gaza, out of a total of 98, representing a third of the remaining captives. Notably, this was achieved without providing Tel Aviv with prior disclosure of the hostages’ condition, whether alive or deceased.
For the first time, Israel publicly revealed the number of Gazan prisoners: 3,436, with 529 denied legal counsel – a mix of fighters and civilians, debunking the Israeli narrative throughout the war to have captured thousands of fighters.
Despite Israeli attempts to prioritize certain Shin Bet and Unit 8200 operatives in initial prisoner swaps, the agreed process ensures transparency. Prisoner release protocols, including pledges and documentation, began days prior, the sources inform The Cradle.
The withdrawal adheres to pre-7 October 2023 borders, averting Israeli attempts to establish buffer zones and achieve territorial encroachment – a significant victory for the Palestinian resistance. Hamas also secured commitments for reconstruction, including hospital rehabilitation, field medical teams, and unrestricted humanitarian aid.
This includes the re-opening of the destroyed Rafah crossing with Egypt, although Egyptian sources tell The Cradle it will likely be opened in March, while work is already underway to repair the Egyptian side. Qatar will sponsor 600 daily aid trucks, 200,000 tents, and 60,000 caravans. Moreover, Israel must limit air operations over Gaza to 8 to 10 hours daily in order to facilitate Palestinian search-and-rescue efforts.
Throughout the six-week implementation, Hamas will gradually release Israeli prisoners – three to four prisoners per week – an average of 19 in the first five weeks – and the remaining 14 or so at the end of the first phase, retaining 65 individuals as leverage for subsequent phases. The details of those phases will be negotiated later, provided that the Americans uphold their guarantee to prevent the return of war.
The first troop withdrawal phase, allowing displaced Palestinians to return to the north, from Al-Rashid al-Bahari Street to the west, begins on the seventh day of the ceasefire. By the 22nd day, Israel will fully withdraw, restoring freedom of movement for all Palestinians.
Netanyahu’s bitter pill
Over 15 months of total war, Netanyahu has faced numerous internal and external hurdles to reach this agreement. In the interim, the Israeli narrative of “absolute victory” has unraveled. Widely-touted promised gains, such as retaining the strategic Netzarim and Philadelphi corridors, have been abandoned, leaving Netanyahu and his extremist governing coalition grappling with a public relations crisis. The liberation of Palestinian prisoners and the reversal of territorial ambitions evoke memories of the 2011 exchange that freed 1,027 Palestinians for Gilad Shalit – a painful reminder for Israelis.
Israeli media’s reactions reflect this bitterness. “The pressure Trump is exerting right now is not the kind that Israel expected from him,” lamented the rightwing commentator Jacob Bardugo on Channel 14 on Monday. The network’s journalist Ariel Segal, close to Netanyahu, remarked, “It could be that we (Israel) are the first to pay the price of Trump’s election.” Meanwhile, a journalist ally of extremist Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir concedes that “Trump increased the pressure on Hamas to the point that Israel broke.”
To compensate, there are reports of an “American compensation package” offering Netanyahu political cover for this domestic defeat. It includes lifting sanctions on extremist settlers, shielding Israeli leaders from international legal action, and permitting major West Bank settlement expansions. Yet, compared to Tel Aviv’s far-reaching initial ambitions, such as annexing the West Bank or attacking Iran, these concessions appear diluted.
The late, martyred Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, who spearheaded the resistance’s Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, emerges as a key figure in the context of a prison swap. According to Hamas sources, the resistance negotiated the ceasefire on Sinwar’s stringent terms, and in death, he achieved his goals. This will further glorify the man whose fight to the bitter end was captured in emotive images during his direct, defiant confrontation with the occupation forces.
His soldiers, unaware of his identity until after his martyrdom, viewed him as a symbol of resistance. Today, Israel faces the prospect of releasing hundreds of prisoners with life sentences and will be bitterly weighing the likelihood of future ‘Sinwars’ among them. For Israel, prisoners sentenced to life imprisonment are seen as having “blood on their hands,” signifying their perceived threat and resilience as formidable Palestinian figures.
A fragile victory
Despite unparalleled suffering – over 200,000 casualties, mass displacements, and Gaza’s near-total devastation – Palestinians are finding solace in halting the war and securing key concessions. The resistance’s steadfastness and Qatar’s deft diplomacy reshaped an agreement that, while imperfect, forestalls further bloodshed and displaces Israeli ambitions of long-term occupation.
However, the cessation remains precarious, hinging only on American guarantees and mutual adherence to terms. For Gaza’s people, scarred by war yet defiant, the deal symbolizes not just survival but a step toward reclaiming their dignity amid a continuing struggle.
When viewed alongside the key components of this agreement and juxtaposed with Israel’s objectives – the displacement of Gazans, the exile of resistance leaders, and the forcible retention of prisoners – the outcome marks a notable “achievement.”
This is particularly evident after over a year of relentless warfare, during which the occupation state seemed intent on perpetuating its presence in Gaza indefinitely. What complicates the narrative is the perception that the cessation of hostilities was largely driven by a “quasi-personal” decision by Donald Trump, who indirectly attacked Netanyahu during the process.
Yet, this outcome would not have been possible without the unwavering determination of the Palestinian resistance in Gaza. Their recent intensifying operations, especially on the front lines near Beit Hanoun, which exacted heavy death tolls on Israeli forces, played a crucial role in addition to the regional fronts opened by Hamas’s allies in the Axis of Resistance.
Nevertheless, these efforts alone did not directly prompt the war’s end. Gazans have endured horrors they liken to “doomsday scenes.” The toll includes 17,000 orphans and countless families erased from the civil registry.
On 16 January, one day after the announcement came, Netanyahu attempted to delay the approval of the ceasefire deal, blaming Hamas for “backtracking.” However, Hamas official Izzat al-Rishq stated the group remains “committed” to the ceasefire announced Wednesday. Israeli media attributed the delay to Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich’s threats to leave the government in protest.
The people of Gaza are choosing to celebrate the agreement and its implications. Their joy and relief are visible not only in the diaspora and the West Bank but also in the streets of Gaza and among the makeshift tents they now call home, even before the agreement’s official declaration.

Six Lawsuits Accuse Makers of Children’s Fluoride Toothpaste of Violating Federal Law

Six class action lawsuits filed today accuse major dental product manufacturers of deceptively marketing products containing fluoride to young children, and misleading parents to believe the products are safe for toddlers.
The lawsuits name children’s toothpaste brands Crest and Colgate/Tom’s of Maine, and the children’s mouth rinse brands Act, Colgate/Tom’s of Maine, Firefly and Hello.
Plaintiffs include parents and caregivers in multiple states, including California, Illinois and New York. In the case of Crest toothpaste, the proposed class is nationwide. The lawsuits were filed in federal courts in California and Illinois.
According to the complaints, the plaintiffs were misled by the product marketing and as a result, didn’t follow public health guidelines when using the products. The lawsuits also allege the companies fail to adequately flag instructions for proper use, as mandated by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
According to the complaints, the companies design their product labels with candy and fruit juice flavors and images and cartoon characters to appeal to young children, often misleading them to think the products are meant to be consumed as food.
The complaints also accuse the defendants of using false and misleading labeling that leads parents and caretakers to believe the products are “extra safe for children.” As a result, they “unwittingly permit and encourage” children to use more toothpaste or mouth rinse than recommended.
According to the lawsuits, the brands’ deceptive marketing tactics put “the health of millions of children at risk” and violated the Federal Food, Drug & Cosmetic Act (FD&C Act) and several state consumer fraud statutes. The complaints highlight the serious risks to children’s health from ingesting excess fluoride. These include flu-like symptoms from acute toxicity, dental fluorosis, neurotoxicity, endocrine disruption and even death.
Attorney Michael Connett, partner at Siri & Glimstad, is representing the plaintiffs.
Connett successfully represented plaintiffs in the landmark lawsuit against the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) over water fluoridation. In that case, a federal judge ruled in September 2024 that water fluoridation at current U.S. levels poses an unreasonable risk of reduced IQ in children and ordered the EPA to take regulatory action.
The lawsuits seek to hold the companies accountable for including packaging elements on their products that allegedly mislead consumers and violate the act. Plaintiffs seek statutory damages to compensate for their financial loss incurred by purchasing more of the products than they needed because they were misled to overuse them. They also seek punitive damages.
“I am delighted to see class action lawsuits against manufacturers that have been knowingly and deceptively marketing toothpaste and mouthwash to children in ways that could harm them through excessive use,” Children’s Health Defense CEO Mary Holland told The Defender.
“These corporations have known of the risks of fluoride to children — IQ loss, dental fluorosis and other serious health concerns — for decades. Their continued marketing to kids is akin to how illegal cigarette ads target kids,” she said. “This litigation is an important step building on the victory against the EPA for its failure to address risks demonstrated by fluoride science.”
Advertising strategy ‘more than misleading and irresponsible … it’s unethical’
Each class action challenges similar practices by the major manufacturers, although the practices vary depending on the type and brand of product.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the American Dental Association (ADA), the American Academy of Pediatrics and others recommend that children under age 3 should use no more than a “smear” of fluoride toothpaste and children ages 3 to 6 should use no more than a “pea-sized” amount.
Two of the complaints allege Procter & Gamble, maker of Crest Kids and Colgate-Palmolive, maker of Colgate and Tom’s of Maine, understand that encouraging caregivers to use the safe, recommended amount of toothpaste “is bad for their bottom line.”
As a result, they use “misleading” and “aggressive” tactics to prompt parents to use “far more than is safe” — a practice researchers have long linked to toothpaste overconsumption by children.
For example, both companies’ packaging and websites show images of a toothbrush with a full strip of toothpaste. The lawsuit alleges the image implies a full strip is the recommended quantity. However, it is eight to 10 times more than the recommended amount for a child under 3 and three to four times the recommended amount for a child ages 3-6.
Colgate uses pictures of fruit with matching flavors and names like “Watermelon Burst,” which sounds like a candy product or a juice drink — a common signal to a child that toothpaste is intended to be consumed as if it were food.
Colgate Kid’s natural product, marketed as “Silly Strawberry” by Tom’s of Maine, also features the word “natural,” implying that the product is free from toxic ingredients — which it isn’t — and that there is no need to limit how much paste goes on the brush.
Crest offers flavors like “Bubblegum” and “Sparkle Fun” with cartoon animals on the box. Candy flavors and cartoons make it tempting for children to eat toothpaste, according to the National Capital Poison Center, increasing the risk of overdose.
The lawsuits also accuse the brands of hiding the required FDA warnings behind a label containing promotional claims. The stamp of the ADA, for example, which is often featured prominently, is much larger than the FDA-mandated warning that parents must carefully follow instructions.
The mouth rinse companies — including Chattem Inc., a subdivision of Sanofi, and Perrigo — also market their products as candy-like and juice-flavored, and use strategies to encourage kids to use more than the recommended dosage. For example, Firefly Rinse resembles a toy and includes a cup that holds more than the recommended serving size.
The lawsuits also note that the mouth rinse products prominently feature cartoon characters, with names like “Groovy Grape” and “Pineapple Punch,” and the word “kids,” despite the FDA’s warning that fluoride mouth rinses are too dangerous for children under age 6.
Integrative biologic dentist Dr. Griffin Cole told The Defender these marketing strategies are highly effective for getting kids to consume more dental products.
“The advertising of toothpastes is more than misleading and irresponsible … it’s unethical,” he said. “The use of vibrant colors, bubblegum flavors and pretty swirls is clearly aimed at children and misleads parents into thinking these products, which contain fluoride, are safe.”
Products contain ‘enough fluoride to kill a toddler’
Children’s rinses generally has the same amount of fluoride as adult rinses, according to the lawsuits, but poses a greater risk to children who receive a higher dose by body weight.
Children under age 6 lack the developed swallowing reflexes that allow them to control how much they ingest, increasing the likelihood they will swallow the products.
The CDC reports that 35% of children frequently eat toothpaste, and an additional 22% have tried eating it. It also reports that some children under age 6 swallow substantial amounts of mouth rinse.
Excessive fluoride intake can lead to dental fluorosis, a tooth discoloration caused by overexposure during childhood. Since the introduction of candy-like fluoride products in the 1980s, the rate of dental fluorosis among U.S. schoolchildren has skyrocketed. Rates rose from 23% of children in 1986-87 to “a staggering 68%” of children by 2015-16, the complaint alleges.
Ingesting too much fluoride can also cause acute toxicity, with flu-like symptoms such as nausea, stomach upset and vomiting — symptoms that parents may not recognize as being related to fluoride. The complaints note that swallowing just one full strip of toothpaste can cause these effects in toddlers.
They also allege that a third of a tube of “kids” fluoride toothpaste contains “enough fluoride to kill a toddler.” The same is true for a little over half a bottle of the sweet-tasting Act, Firefly or Hello mouth rinses.
Each year, Poison Control receives between 10,000 and 15,000 calls due to excess consumption of fluoride toothpaste, most of which involve young children and hundreds of which result in hospitalization, according to the complaints. There are also thousands of calls related to the ingestion of mouth rinse.
Kathleen Thiessen, Ph.D., who authored the 2006 National Research Council report on fluoride in drinking water, told The Defender the dangers of fluoride go beyond immediate toxicity and include “neurotoxicity concerns, endocrine disruption, increased risk of bone fracture.”
The evidence supporting these claims is growing. Scientists at the National Toxicology Program last week published a meta-analysis in the JAMA Pediatrics linking fluoridated water and IQ loss in children. It “found significant inverse associations between fluoride exposure and children’s IQ scores.”
They also published a monograph in August that also found a link between higher fluoride exposure and lower IQ in children. In May, a study in JAMA Open Network found children born to women exposed during pregnancy to fluoridated drinking water were more likely to have neurobehavioural problems.
Cole said that excessive use of fluoride-containing dental products adds to the risks associated with fluoridated drinking water and that manufacturers must include more responsible labeling at a minimum.
“The warnings on the packages clearly state that very small amounts are to be used and that a poison control center is to be contacted should a child swallow more than a pea-sized portion,” he said. “Assuming parents read these warnings and carefully watch their children as they brush, perhaps dangerous accidents can be avoided.”
“Even better,” Cole added, “The manufacturers should do the right thing and remove this unnecessary and clearly harmful chemical from all pastes.”

Octopus Game Part I – Hidden History of Palestine
The Octopus Game Episode I
Press TV
Film Review
This intriguing 10-part series purports to “delve into the contrasting dynamics of U.S. military aid provided to Ukraine and Israel, highlighting the political divisions and influences shaping American foreign policy decisions.”
Only one episode addresses US military aid to Ukraine, but the background provided on the history of Palestine and the formation of the Palestinian resistance is invaluable. The last three episodes provide a day-by-day chronology of the current Israel-Palestine war up to January 30, 2024.
The first episode traces the birth of the Zionist movement from the formation of the First Zionist Congress in Basel Switzerland, called by European Jews seeking to establish a permanent Jewish homeland. Although the Congress voted to set up a fund to purchase land in Palestine, Zionist terrorist gangs would seize the vast majority (94%) of Palestinian land by force.
In 1899, Theodore Herzl formed the Jewish Colonial Trust (the first Zionist bank) in London to help finance Jewish emigration to Palestine. In 1901 the Jewish National Fund formed, which raised about a billion dollars over 40+ years to purchase Arab property to resettle European Jews. The Rothschilds also donated 15 million francs to buy land in Palestine. Eventually approximately 6% of Palestine was purchased and the rest seized by force.
Following the defeat of the Ottoman empire in 1918, Britain and France divided the lands they controlled in the Middle East between them. In 1920, the League of Nations awarded Britain control of the states of Palestine and Transjordan. By then the Federation of Israeli Scouts (which became the Zionist terrorist group Haganah in 1920) had been operating for a year. Immediately after assuming control in Palestine, the British facilitated wave after wave of illegal European Jewish immigration into the country.
Starting in 1934, the Italian fascist dictator Mussolini became the strongest sponsor of Zionist terrorism in Palestine, opening a training camp in Italy for Zionist terrorists the same year.
In 1934 the first major Palestinian resistance movement formed when Palestinian leaders learned Haganah was smuggling weapons into the country. This resulted in a two year armed rebellion against British rule (1936-38), triggered by routine Arab eviction by Jewish terrorists from their farmland.
In 1947 the UN ascertained that Jews constituted on 1/4 of the population of Palestine. A year later when Israel declared independence, they comprised 1/3 of the population, with most residing in Palestine three years or less. Nonetheless, the UN granted 62% of Palestine to the Zionists (a little more than half of what they asked for).
Owing to escalating terrorist attacks against Palestinian residents, six Arab countries (Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Jordan, Egypt and Saudi Arabia) declared war on Israel after President Harry Truman recognized the terrorist Zionist regime (one day after Israel declared independence on May 14 1948) as the legitimate government of Palestine and began supplying them military aid. A year later the Arab coalition surrendered. The three main terrorist groups (Haganah, Irgun and Lehi) united following independence to form the Israel Defense Force, which was larger than the armies of all six Arab countries combined.

“This Is A Disaster”: Fire Erupts At California Battery Storage Plant
Zero Hedge
If the raging wildfires across Los Angeles County weren’t enough, California faced another crisis overnight as one of the world’s largest battery storage facilities, situated about 100 miles south of San Francisco, caught fire, triggering area-wide evacuations.
AP News reported that a fire broke out Thursday at the Moss Landing Power Plant, a natural gas-fired generation plant with thousands of lithium batteries for energy storage. Fires involving lithium batteries, as seen with electric vehicles, are notoriously difficult to extinguish and could burn uncontrollably for days.
“There’s no way to sugarcoat it. This is a disaster, is what it is,” Monterey County Supervisor Glenn Church told local media outlet KSBW-TV. However, Church did not expect the fire to spread outside the perimeter of the plant.
Local media outlet The Mercury News noted that fires at the Vistra plant, which Vistra Energy owns, and one of the largest battery storage facilities in the world boasting a capacity of 750 megawatts and 3,000 megawatt-hours, experienced fires in 2021 and 2022. The energy storage facility plays a massive role in stabilizing California’s power grid.
It’s unclear at this point what started the fire. Local authorities evacuated more than 2,000 people around the plant due to concerns over hazardous materials and potential chemical releases.
“Our top priority is the safety of the community and our personnel, and Vistra deeply appreciates the continued assistance of our local emergency responders,” Jenny Lyon, a spokesperson for Vistra, said in a statement.
KSBW said Vistra confirmed the fire was detected in the 300-MW Phase I energy storage facility.
Here’s footage of the fire posted on X:

There’s no update yet on the current grid impacts or how operations at the Moss Landing Power Plant are affected. It’s another setback for Democrats in their push for a ‘green’ utopia in a state that seems to be imploding by the week.

Did Syria’s new leaders fake an ‘ISIS plot’ to attack the Sayyeda Zainab shrine?

The Cradle
Employing tactics reminiscent of its operations in Iraq, Syria’s new Al-Qaeda-linked government continues to manipulate sectarian divides and leverage foreign interests to consolidate power, while perpetuating instability under the guise of protecting minorities.
Syria’s new interim government, led by former Al-Qaeda in Iraq leader Ahmed al-Sharaa (previously known as Abu Mohammed al-Julani) has claimed its security services thwarted an attempt by ISIS to bomb the Sayyida Zainab shrine in the southern suburbs of Damascus.
The shrine, attributed to the granddaughter of the Prophet Mohammed and daughter of Imam Ali Ibn Abi Talib is an especially revered site for Shia Muslims worldwide. Known as the Heroine of Karbala, this year, her martyrdom anniversary was commemorated on 15 January, coinciding with the Islamic date 15 Rajab.
According to news website Shia Waves, “Local sources reported a noticeable decrease in the number of visitors to the shrine compared to previous years, attributed to Syria’s ongoing security challenges and political turmoil.”
Sowing the seeds of sectarianism
However, a closer analysis of the details provided by Syrian state media suggests the plot to bomb the shrine was fabricated. The move appears to be an attempt to present the Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS)-led government as a protector of minorities to western audiences. This portrayal contrasts sharply with its ongoing sectarian cleansing campaigns in Alawite areas of the country.
The would-be false flag also serves the interests of the new Syrian government’s external sponsors. By exaggerating the ISIS threat, it provides the US with a pretext to maintain its illegal military occupation in Syria. Such an attack is all the more possible now that Hezbollah fighters and advisory forces of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) have withdrawn from the country, ostensibly to ensure security for the shrine.
US forces currently occupy key oil fields in the north and east of the country and maintain a strategic base at Al-Tanf on the Syria-Iraq-Jordan border. The narrative of an ISIS threat ensures continued justification for these deployments and the exploitation of Syria’s resources.
Additionally, the conspiracy helps establish a narrative of ISIS culpability in advance. This could pave the way for blame to be assigned to the group if any party—whether elements within the Syrian government pursuing the Wahhabi project of targeting Shia and Sufi shrines, or foreign intelligence agencies seeking to destabilize Syria—decides to destroy the Sayyeda Zainab shrine. Such an event would create further chaos, deepening sectarian divides and serving the interests of those looking to fragment and destabilize Syria.
A staged plot
On 11 January, an unnamed official in Syria’s General Intelligence Service claimed four members of the ISIS cell planning an attack on the shrine were arrested.
Syria state TV showed images of the men, blindfolded and standing against a wall in casual civilian clothes, claiming the group consisted of Lebanese nationals and Palestinian-Lebanese. Images also showed a number of grenades and an anti-tank mine that were allegedly to be used for a suicide attack.
However, Karim Franceschi an Italian-Moroccan who fought with the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG) against ISIS in Kobane in 2014, gave several reasons why the claimed plot to bomb Sayyeda Zainab was manufactured.
Franceschi observed that ISIS attacks on Sayyida Zaynab in Damascus in the past have used parked vehicles—plastic bags, cars, or motorcycles to plant bombs, rather than suicide bombers.
Further, the TM-57 anti-tank mine allegedly meant to be used in the suicide attack was rigged with the wrong fuse.
“Instead, a crude cord and igniter setup—meant for a suicide vest—is shown. This makes no sense. Using a full mine, with its specific anti-tank explosion radius, is inefficient. HTS knows this, making it clear this setup was staged for propaganda. There is no way ISIS or HTS with their extensive knowledge expertise with explosives would make something this sloppily,” Franceschi writes.
Previous ISIS attacks were not so sloppy. A string of ISIS bombings near the shrine in February 2016 killed 134 people, most of them civilians, according to the UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR). In January 2016, another attack on the shrine claimed by ISIS killed 70 people.
Julani’s PR offensive
One reason for faking the plot is clear based on the statement issued by the unnamed Syrian intelligence official. He told state media the intelligence service is seeking to protect the country’s minorities, by “putting all its capabilities to stand in the face of all attempts to target the Syrian people in all their spectrums.”
The AP promoted this narrative further, reporting that although HTS leader Sharaa was a former leader in Al-Qaeda, which was notorious for calling for committing massacres against Shia in Iraq, he “has preached religious coexistence since assuming power in Damascus.”
Sharaa needs to preach co-existence and protection of minorities to have economic sanctions lifted. Crippling sanctions were imposed on Syria by the US and EU to strangle the economy and impoverish millions of Syrians in an effort to topple the previous government of Bashar al-Assad. Yet even with Assad gone, the “pointlessly cruel” sanctions remain.
Sharaa has admittedly introduced several reforms to improve life for average Syrians, including ending mandatory military service for Syrian men (which at times lasted up to eight years for meager pay), reducing draconian customs fees on imported products such as cell phones, and removing the checkpoints which slowed travel and forced Syrians to pay bribes or risk being arrested and disappearing into the prison system for arbitrary reasons.
But the lifting of the sanctions and allowing for normal economic activity is crucial for Sharaa to maintain popular support, especially given the unpopularity of his and his government’s efforts to establish a fundamentalist Islamic State in the country.
Maintaining leverage through sanctions
Just as the US and EU used sanctions for leverage against Assad, they are doing the same against Sharaa. The Intercept noted that just hours before Assad fell, and when it was obvious Sharaa and HTS would take power in Damascus, the US Congress moved to extend sanctions, rather than simply let them expire.
“Not considering sanctions relief right now is like pulling the rug out from under Syria just when it’s trying to stand,” The Intercept cited Delaney Simon, a senior analyst at the International Crisis Group, as saying.
Now, EU governments cite the threat to minorities from Sharaa’s security forces, which are comprised of multiple formerly Al-Qaeda linked groups with records of committing massacres against Syria’s Alawites, Druze, and Christians, as an excuse to keep sanctions in place or to reimpose them as “snapback” sanctions in the future.
Considering that the members of the US Congress most responsible for imposing the sanctions, such as French Hill and Joe Wilson, are also rapid pro-Israel supporters, it can be assumed that Sharaa will be asked in the future to sign a peace deal with Israel giving up the occupied Golan Heights to the Zionist entity in exchange for the sanctions being lifted completely and the possible return of recently occupied Syrian territory under Sharaa’s watch.
The spate of sectarian killings
By preaching religious coexistence and claiming to protect the Sayyeda Zainab shrine, Sharaa is also achieving another goal: providing cover for the ongoing campaign of sectarian cleansing that is taking place in Alawite areas of the country, including parts of Homs and the Hama and Latakia country sides.
The extremist sectarian ideology Sharaa previously embraced when dispatching car bombs to kill Shia civilians in Iraq, Lebanon and Syria, is the same ideology which the armed factions under the HTS umbrella supporting his rule still embrace.
Militants affiliated with the new Syrian government, including many foreign jihadists from Uzbekistan, Chechnya, and China (Turkmenistan), are kidnapping and murdering members of Syria’s Alawite community based on their religious identity in various parts of Syria.
As a result, reports of sectarian killings by HTS or affiliated militants in Homs, Latakia, and Tartous continue to flood social media.
Syria expert Joshua Landis wrote on X that “Alawites have been attacked, many who have no history of wrongdoing in military or military service whatsoever. Today, there were demonstrations in the Sunni district of Latakia, cursing Alawites.”
Some Alawites are therefore demanding international protection, Landis notes, which further opens the door to the partition of Syria, a key Israeli goal.
To provide just one example, an Alawite man, Sheikh Ali Deeb, and his wife were killed in rural Salamiyah in the village of Dniba during an HTS search operation on 8 January. Their bodies were found on a side road connecting the village of Dniba to the neighboring village of Snida.
A pretext for US occupation
The new Syrian government’s claim to have thwarted the ISIS attack on Sayyeda Zainab also helps Sharaa remain in the good graces of Washington by giving it a pretext to continue the US military occupation of north and east Syria and its oil fields, which provide crude oil to Israel via Iraqi Kurdistan and Turkiye.

In Iraq, the US perfected the strategy of supporting and even creating Al-Qaeda groups (with Kurdish assistance), to justify its invasion and military occupation of the country.
[…]
Zarqawi’s car and suicide bombs targeting Shia pilgrims continued to justify the US occupation after the pretense of Saddam Hussein’s possession of WMDs collapsed.
A decade later, the US military provided weapons to ISIS to conquer large swathes of western Iraq, including Mosul, the country’s second largest city. US officials then used the existence of the so-called ISIS caliphate to return its forces to Iraq that had left after then Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki has refused to sign a status of forces agreement with President Barack Obama guaranteeing non-prosecution of US troops in 2011.
Though ISIS has been defeated in Iraq, current Prime Minister Mohammad Shia al-Sudani has failed to eject US forces from the country. US officials continue to claim they are still needed to fight ISIS, even though Sudani has repeatedly claimed the terror group no longer poses a threat that Iraqi forces cannot deal with on their own.
The Israeli/Wahhabi project
[…]
Attacking and destroying important Muslim shrines, important to both Shia and Sunnis, is a hallmark of AQI under the leadership of Zarqawi and ISIS under the leadership of Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, Sharaa’s former bosses.
Zarqawi’s AQI is widely viewed as responsible for destroying the golden dome of the Al-Askari Shrine, home to the 10th and 11th Shia Imams, in Samarra in Iraq.
[…]
Blowing up the Sayyeda Zainab Shrine in Damascus, whether for fundamentalist religious goals or for the sake of creating strategic chaos, would help ensure that the sectarian violence that engulfed Iraq and threatens to engulf Syria now, becomes a reality.
The sectarian chaos will again benefit the occupation state, allowing it to expand its occupation of the Syrian Golan Heights and southern Syria, while incentivizing Syria’s Druze to ask for their territory to be incorporated into a Greater Israel to escape the sectarian fire consuming the rest of the country.

“I Saw Shredded Bodies Scattered On Roads and Hanging from Trees in Lebanon”

By Hiba Morad
Steve Sweeney, a British journalist who reported on the recent Israeli war on Lebanon, says he saw shredded and charred bodies, including those of children, scattered on the streets and hanging from trees as the Israeli regime bombed the country.
In a conversation with the Press TV website, Sweeney recounted the harrowing scenes he observed during nearly 70 days of relentless Israeli aggression against the Arab country, which resulted in massive death and destruction of civilians.
“Israel killed women and children in Lebanon. How do I know this? I know this because I saw the bodies. I saw people hanging from trees. I saw the remains of children who had been incinerated in these Israeli strikes,” he stated, presenting graphic details of the Zionist atrocities.
Sweeney, who exposed Israeli Hasbara after reporting how regime forces had stacked dollars and weapons in the basements of Sahel General Hospital in the Lebanese capital, called out the blatant lies propagated by the regime to justify preemptive strikes against displaced civilians and residential areas.
“We saw several massacres. It is difficult to put into words exactly what we witnessed. These were precision strikes, these were deliberate attacks. The goal was to kill the Shia community and instill fear, not just among the Shia, but also among the other communities that were sheltering them,” he noted.
“These people thought they were in safety, they were far away from the frontline of the fighting and they posed no threat to Israel whatsoever. This is a war crime. We saw the Shia community haunted down by Israel across Lebanon.”
According to the principle of proportionality in international law, as outlined in Article 51 of the UN Charter, even if there is a legitimate military target, attacking it is prohibited if the expected harm to civilians or civilian property is excessive in relation to the anticipated military advantage.

Witness of the horror
The British journalist, who covered the war in the South, Baalbek, and the North, recalled the horrors he witnessed firsthand.
“There was a period when Israel was striking civilian buildings in civilian areas that were housing those who had already fled from the Israeli aggression in the South. Those who were killed were not Hezbollah fighters or military commanders. They were mainly women and children,” he told the Press TV website.
On December 4, Lebanese Health Minister Firass Abiad told reporters that a total of 316 children and 790 women had been killed in the Israeli assault on Lebanon.
A week after a truce was declared, Abiad reported that the death toll had reached 4,047, with 16,638 others wounded.
“What we saw was horrific, the massacres… We were at sights in Batroun and in Tripoli near the North and we saw scores of people killed, 23 people here, another 27 people there. In Saida we saw the same residential buildings targeted,” Sweeney told the Press TV website.
“I saw photos of a married couple, photos of children, toys and clothes of children among the rubble. It was something like a horror movie. There was massacre after massacre and war crime after war crime, mainly targeting displaced women and children.”
Reflecting on Israeli claims that these attacks were not deliberate, Sweeney dismissed them as blatant falsehoods. He asserted that Israel was losing on the battlefield and failing to achieve any of its military objectives. In response, its strategy shifted toward provoking civil strife and undermining support for the resistance—sending a clear warning to the Lebanese people that those who shelter the displaced would also be targeted.
“Israel wanted to sow discord among the Lebanese but it rather created a united Lebanon, a united people, who were not prepared to allow a component of the Lebanese people to be singled out. This was a war on all Lebanon, targeting the social fabric of the country,” the journalist said.
South Lebanon experience
Sweeney was among the first journalists to enter southern Lebanese border areas after the ceasefire.
“What we saw in the South was an apocalyptic scene. Village after village, town after town reduced to rubble. As we drove through we saw houses, apartment blocks destroyed, hospitals, schools, churches, mosques, civil defense centers,” he told the Press TV website.
He dismissed the narrative that Israeli forces were targeting only resistance fighters.
“A lie goes halfway around the world before the truth puts its shoes on, this is certainly a lie. Israel has told lie after lie. They say they had targeted a Hezbollah commander for example, yet they hit an entire building that is full of civilians,” he noted.
He hastened to add that the people of Lebanon are unshakeable and uncompromising, having made immense sacrifices yet refusing to submit or surrender.
“I was there at the very moment the people were returning to their homes or what was left of their homes for the very first time since the ceasefire. One woman, in particular, struck me when she was standing in front of her apartment block reduced into rubble, she had lost everything. Yet she said to me that she would give everything to Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah and that she would give everything over and over again for the resistance. Then she said: we have two choices, either surrender or resistance.”
The journalist also pointed out that Israel was deliberately targeting infrastructure, as well as touristic and religious sites.
“We saw again in Tyr, the historic seafront which was bombed by Israel in the aggression. It is the destruction of a city that is crucial to Lebanon in terms of tourism, industry, and the economy. Israel destroyed everything in the South to make it uninhabited,” he remarked.
“I attended the funerals of 11 martyrs from Hezbollah who died fighting to defend their land and territory from Israeli invaders, and again this was a quite moving experience for me. The entire village came out in support of the martyrs and I spoke to one of the women whose son was killed. Of course, she was very sad, but she said I have two other sons, and I would be happy to give them as well.”
Sweeney reflected on how, as a Westerner, he had come to understand the concept of martyrdom better.
“I spoke to a Sheikh (cleric) who explained the concept of martyrdom. He said martyrdom is a new life; a concept that is difficult for a Westerner like me to understand, but I kind of understand it more now after my experience in the last three months of the Israeli aggression,” he stated.
“Israel will never be able to destroy Hezbollah. What they do not understand is that they can decapitate leaders, but those will be replaced. The commanders in Hezbollah are replaced and its structure remains intact. But the most important point is that Hezbollah is the people, and it cannot be defeated.”
Describing the people of southern Lebanon, with whom he spent considerable time, Sweeney remarked that they come from a unique path, calling them “a very special, beautiful, and resilient people.”
Threats for revealing truth
Sweeney said he faced abuse, a smear campaign, and death threats for his reportage on the war and for exposing uncomfortable truths about the Zionist aggression on Lebanon.
“I was abused and received some threats from Israelis when I did an investigative report from inside al-Sahel hospital, which Israel claimed Hezbollah hid dollars in the basement; an outlandish claim they also used in Gaza to justify pre-emptive strikes on hospitals like al-Shifa hospital. I was not targeted but they put me on their radar,” Sweeney told the Press TV website.
“I searched every corner, every room including the basement. And all I found was what you find in any hospital anywhere across the world. I had nobody following me around, there was nothing that I was denied access to and I could open any door I wanted and go anywhere I wanted. I opened boxes, tapped the walls to see if there is anything behind them, I checked every inch. This is Israeli Hasbara.”
In one incident, as Sweeney and his colleagues entered Maroun al-Ras, Israel opened fire on them.
“I am not entirely sure if they were firing at us or it was a warning shot, but this is what they are doing to the people of the South, the people who are trying to return to their homes and villages, it is preventing them from doing so and booby-trapping houses and bulldozing buildings.”
On the killing of three of his colleagues in Lebanon, the British journalist said he previously had been in that area and participating in their funerals affected him deeply as a fellow journalist.
“The landscape of journalism particularly in southern Lebanon is one of oppression, and the Press jacket becomes a target. Journalists in Lebanon hold their weapon which is their pen and camera and Israel is afraid of them because there is no escaping from the exposure of what they are doing.”

Sweeney concluded that, based on what he witnessed and experienced, this is not merely an Israeli war on Hezbollah but an Israeli war on all of Lebanon.

Trump’s apparent push for Gaza ceasefire only magnifies Biden’s wickedness

This week’s “breakthrough” in ceasefire negotiations to end the genocidal campaign against Gaza came, according to regional sources, after a single intervention by US president-elect Trump’s designated envoy Steve Witkoff in which he ordered Netanyahu’s government to capitulate. While we might be skeptical of Trump’s habit of claiming credit for any progress, it was corroborated by the far-right members of the Netanyahu government erupting into the kind of tantrum for which they are now world-famous, framing the deal as a disaster imposed on “Israel” by the incoming administration.
While a welcome relief, the imposition of the ceasefire on “Israel” by Trump also brings into stark focus the pointlessness of the last year and a half of slaughter as well as the regionalization of the war to the occupied West Bank, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Iran, and Yemen.
In the aftermath of Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, Biden, while parroting “Israel’s” atrocity propaganda about beheaded infants in ovens, gave Netanyahu a carte blanche to declare total war on the people of Gaza. As the unique scale of the atrocities in the Strip became clear, Biden proceeded, through his spineless UN ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield, to provide diplomatic cover for the genocide at the Security Council. Breaking even with its European surrogates, the US vetoed every resolution that called for an end to the butchery, clearly straining to invent new objections to deflect global outrage at such cold-blooded cynicism.
The free rein given by the American government only emboldened the Israeli regime to widen the scope of the war. It achieved this to great effect through its airstrike on the Iranian consulate in the Syrian capital Damascus. In addition to violating every rule of modern (and ancient) diplomacy, the attack killed several high-ranking Iranian officials, guaranteeing that Tehran would retaliate directly, which it did with the largest volley of drones in military history (thus far) against “Israel”.
As was clear from the warning Tehran issued as the attack unfolded, it was deliberately calibrating its response to avert further escalation. By this point, the urgent need for a ceasefire was indisputable. It was, however, to presage the most shameful chapter of the US administration’s complicity.

More Americans Died Due to Covid 19 Injections Than in WWI, WWII, and Vietnam War Combined

By Dr. Joseph Sansone
More Americans died due to COVID 19 injections than in WWI, WWII, and the Vietnam War combined. This simple fact is astounding. There are approximately 38,000 reported deaths from COVID 19 injections in the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) system. Based on studies, the under reporting in VAERS can be anywhere from 1 of 30, to 1 of 100 cases reported. This could put the number of Americans murdered via COVID 19 injections at 3.8 million.
In World War I there were approximately 116,516 American military deaths. In World War II there were approximately 405,399 American military deaths. In the Vietnam War there were approximately 58,220 American military deaths. In total, the combined American military deaths from all three wars were 580,135. So even the low end death projections from the COVID 19 injections exceeded the total American military deaths from all three wars.
It should be pointed out that the death toll from the COVID 19 injections may be much higher. The VAERS statistics are only reports of acute cases early on. In other words, the people dying one, two, or three years later, for instance, from cancer, heart disease, and so on, are not being reported at all. As the years roll on, these deaths will not be reported. Someone dying from complication or disease or disorder, five, ten, or twenty years after being injected, will not likely be attributed to an injection they received years earlier even though that was primary the cause.
We can see this already with people we know. While some recognize that their cancer or other disease or disorder was caused by the injection, others are oblivious to this reality. Imagine the disconnect if the death occurs a decade after being injected.
The only possible way to adequately measure the full devastation of the bioweapon injections impact on humanity is to conduct a comprehensive study of the ‘vaccinated’ and ‘unvaccinated’ and compare all cause mortality of each group as well as prevalence of diseases and disorders in each group. There is a limited window of time to do such a study. Over time the projection of deaths for each year will be adjusted to absorb the increase in deaths due to the shots. This means that even though deaths are increasing each year, there will no longer be excess deaths as the projections have changed. In other words, they will cheat on the projections to accommodate the excess deaths. Also, as time goes on more people will be injured by the shedding. This means that even the disparity between the two groups will dwindle to a degree without cheating on the projections. Since the damage appears does dependent it is likely that the injected will see greater fatalities and more diseases than the uninjected do from the shedding, even as more uninjected get sick and die.
Will there be monuments in the future to the fallen in this campaign of global extermination? Will the victims of this biowarfare campaign be recognized as casualties of war?
Time will tell.
As it stands now, the deafening silence and prohibition regarding talking about the bioweapon injection injuries and deaths is astounding. We just witnessed a presidential campaign where none of the primary or general election candidates were allowed to speak of the massive deaths and disabilities caused by the mRNA injections. With 70-75% of television advertising coming from the pharmaceutical industry, this media blackout on the truth about the biowarfare campaign against the human race, does not appear to be on the verge of changing anytime soon.
The mRNA nanoparticle injections are associated with a 112,000% increase in brain clots compared to the flu shots. This is based on data collected from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) database from January 1, 1990, to December 31, 2023. Researchers concluded, “There is an alarming breach in the safety signal threshold concerning cerebral thrombosis AEs after COVID-19 vaccines compared to that of the influenza vaccines and even when compared to that of all other vaccines. An immediate global moratorium on the use of COVID-19 vaccines is necessary with an absolute contraindication in women of reproductive age.”
There is a 1236% increase in cardiac arrest deaths, and One in 35 or 2.8% of those injected got heart damage. Approximately 270,227,181 people or 81% of the U.S. population have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 bioweapon injection. This means that almost 8 million Americans got heart damage due to the injections.
Basically, the mRNA nanoparticle injections are shown to cause harm, including death, and to have a negative effectiveness. This means that not only do the shots not work, but you are also more likely to get infected if injected.
Furthermore, the mRNA nanoparticle injections have been shown to injure people via shedding of the technology. A recent study showed that being in close proximity to the ‘vaccinated’ (bioweapon injected) was strongly associated with abnormalities with a woman’s menstrual cycle. I know multiple physicians that have told me about patients that were unvaccinated, but were dating or married to an injected person, and ended up having heart issues. I personally know of people as well where this occurred. This appears time sensitive from when the person was injected.

Armed LA Residents Patrol Neighborhoods In Violation Of Evacuation Orders

Zero Hedge
With police forces overwhelmed by the enormous scope of devastation in Los Angeles County, residents are starting to take matters into their own hands, defying mandatory evacuation orders to instead guard their homes and their neighbor’s property with firearms.
As we reported yesterday, losses from the wildfires in Los Angeles county are poised to reach $250 billion or more. Property isn’t only being destroyed — it’s also being stolen by brazen looters. The neighbor of one LA county resident gave a disturbing description of what was going on on their street: “There were like a hundred people that came up on scooters and were trying to get into any and all houses on this street.”
In response, LA County Sheriff Robert Luna has imposed a curfew, saying, “We’re not screwing around with this; we don’t want people taking advantage of our residents that have already been victimized.” Of course, strong words are little defense against looters determined to prey on vulnerable innocents. Much as the bad guys ignore strong words, so too are plenty of good guys and gals who are opting to defy evacuation orders so they can secure their own property.
“I have no patience for any of [the police],” wealth-management firm president Ross Gerber told the Wall Street Journal. “After you survive this, you don’t care what they say.” Toting a firearm, Gerber has been sneaking into and out of the mandatory evacuation zone to check on his house. He says he’s also joined neighbors in walking the streets and questioning those they don’t recognize.
“I get that [police will] say this is ‘the rule,’ but it’s our land and our neighborhood and as much as I respect the authorities, we’re much more competent than them,” said Gerber, who said a neighborhood WhatsApp channel has proven to be an organizational resource that’s “better than any government.”
Others are staying put in their homes, ready to use gunpower to thwart looters. “I do have firearms and I’ve been calling my friends to make sure I know how to legally exist with them,” Altadena resident EveAnna Manley told KTLA 5. She has a slogan displayed on her Starlink satellite internet receiver: “If You Are Lootin’ We Are Shootin’.”
Manley said that, in addition to looters, the defiant residents — who call themselves “the stayers” — are also keeping their eyes out for fire flareups. Manley says she’s helping neighbors by letting them use her shower, doing laundry for them, and even cooking bacon and eggs for them.
The Stayers know that if they leave the neighborhood, they won’t be able to return, as police checkpoints are turning away anybody who tries to enter. For now, police are allowing supplies to come to the checkpoints, where stayers can receive the goods and return to their homes. Manley is grateful for the police barrier: “It’s a ‘hard no’ blockade and I’m glad for that. I want the ‘hard no’ because I don’t want anyone else up here.”
Another Altadena resident, Aaron Lubeley, tells the Journal that he’s been keeping vigil near what’s left of this fire-ravaged property. Sleeping in his SUV, a 9mm handgun by his side, he’s watching his neighborhood for criminals and resurgent fires, saying it “gives me a sense of value and purpose.” While touring his property, he swings from a voice choked with emotion to one filled with humor — as he refers to his burned home’s new “open floor plan.”

As many ZeroHedge readers know, Los Angeles history offers a legendary example of armed citizens banding together to safeguard their property from looting hordes. During the 1992 riots, Korean store owners took rooftop positions and nobly guarded their shops with rifles. Images of the “Rooftop Koreans” continue to serve as an enduring reminder of the power of citizens to safeguard their property when government police cannot or will not do so — and a reminder of why armed self-defense is a fundamental human right.
