The best argument for a recount comes from Trump himself — Quartz
The newly elected president of the world’s most vaunted democracy is asserting that democracy is a sham.
In an extraordinary series of tweets on Sunday (Nov. 27), US president-elect Donald Trump claimed—with absolutely no evidence—that millions of people voted illegally in the election he won on Nov. 8.
The tweets were a response to Democrats’ complaints that Hillary Clinton’s two million-and-counting vote margin in the popular vote undermines his mandate—though because of the US electoral college system, it doesn’t invalidate his victory.
They followed the news that Clinton’s campaign will join Green party candidate Jill Stein’s recount efforts in Midwest states narrowly won by Trump, which some fear could have been manipulated by foreign hacking. Trump responded by claiming that there has been “serious voter fraud” in several states that Clinton won, and that a biased media is ignoring it (again, presenting no evidence).
It’s worth pausing to underline just how massive a claim the president-elect is making: that the system that elected him is either (a) irreparably corrupt, or (b) woefully incompetent. By making this assertion, he is discrediting his own electoral college victory and, more importantly, the entire American democratic electoral system. . .

(CNN)Rich and Kim Muszynski know when their 5-year-old daughter, Abby, is about to have a grand mal seizure because her pupils enlarge, and she’ll seem to fixate at something in the distance that only she can see.
Then it starts. Abby’s extremities shake. She gasps for air.
By the time she turned 3, Abby had tried about eight different anti-seizure medications. None of them worked very well. Panicked to see their daughter getting worse and worse, the Muszynskis drove three hours to Orlando to see Dr. Ngoc Minh Le, a board certified pediatric neurologist and epileptologist.
Le told them that chances of another anti-seizure drug working on Abby…

Debunking Large Scale Hydroelectric Dams
Damocracy
Directed by Todd Southgate and Tolga Temugle (2013)
Film Review
Damocracy is a documentary debunking the myth that large scale hydroelectric dams combat global warming by producing emission-free electric power. In reality, they create massive amounts of methane by flooding and killing large areas of vegetation. Because methane is a far more dangerous greenhouse gas than CO2, it takes approximately 41 years for a dam to produce any net benefit for the climate.
The film focuses on global protest movements which have formed in reaction to two specific dam projects: Ilisu on the Tigris River in Turkey and Belo Monte in Brazil.
In addition to displacing more than 35,000 rural residents, the Ilisu Dam would flood more than 300 unique Mesopotamian heritage sites. It would also aggravate water shortages in southern Iraq and Iran.
The Belo Monte dam would displace 40,000 indigenous people, virtually destroying 18 distinct ethnic cultures.
Despite strong support for the Bel Monte dam by former president Dilma Rousseff, mass popular resistance forced her government to discontinue the Bel Monte project in April 2016.
Turkish president Recep Erdogan continues construction on Turkey’s Ilisu Dam despite UN and high court rulings ordering him to desist. Ongoing local and international protests have significantly delayed the damn’s completion, originally slated for 2015.

Veterans Today Predicts Paul Ryan Will Be President in January
A recent article by Gordon Duff, Veterans Today senior editor, predicts House Speaker Paul Ryan will likely assume the US presidency in January. In my view, he correctly points out that Ryan, not Clinton, is the logical constitutional successor if evidence of vote fraud throws the result of the Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania vote into question.
Disclosure: Constitutional Crisis, Trump/Pence Pressured to Withdraw (updated)
Proof of Election Fraud Exists, has been “classified” for “national security reasons” and we all are royally “screwed”
By Gordon Duff, Senior Editor
Speaker Paul Ryan may well be President Paul Ryan in January.
Here is what our friends in Israel tell us:
Netanyahu told Trump he is the “chosen,” the messiah. Look at those Trump surrounded himself with late in the campaign, all Christian Zionists, all Dominionists, most are Creationists as well. Trump has been doing his best to play the Christ figure. Oh god, how this is playing out, how they are laughing at us.
Negotiations are ongoing to find a way to allow Trump and Pence to withdraw, to resign even before taking office. There is nothing in American law, not the constitution nor any of the laws of succession.
What is known is this:
There was massive electronic vote hacking, using programs which erased themselves, exactly as predicted on InfoWars. All this was done to give Trump key states.
There is no statistical possibility a candidate can lose the popular vote by over 2m and win an election.
There is now hard evidence of massive absentee voter fraud, Wisconsin and other states, showing a massive criminal conspiracy behind the Trump candidacy.
President Obama, as is always the case, is betraying the American people by remaining silent and “doing what is right,” which for him always means “what he is told.”

Hillary Clinton’s loss was a shock to the purveyors of U.S. military hegemony, who saw in her an easier path to keep the Syria conflict going. Secretary of State Clinton was instrumental in the early days of Syria intervention, in 2010 making a series of demands for Syria to get in line behind the U.S. vision for the Middle East.
When Bashar al-Assad refused to roll over, regime change became the talking point of Washington think tanks and mainstream media echo chambers. Clinton promised during her campaign to ramp up action in Syria, to the delight of the same neocons who brought the Iraq invasion. She acknowledged that many civilians would…

Globalizing Torture, a report published by the Open Society Justice Initiative, provides the names of 136 detainees who were subjected to extraordinary rendition or secret detention. Of those detainees, at least eight were sent by the CIA to Assad’s jails.

(When Assad’s Horrific Prisons were the CIA’s Dumping Ground – By David Kenner)
As Secretary of State John Kerry delivered his opening remarks at the Syria peace talks in Switzerland on Wednesday, he expressed outrage at new revelations of the brutal tactics perpetrated by President Bashar Assad’s regime.
Evidence of the execution of thousands of Syrians in Assad’s prisons, Kerry said, represented “an appalling assault, not only on human lives, but on human dignity and on every standard by which the international community tries to organize itself.”
Kerry was referring to a report released this week based on the testimony of a defector within the Syrian…

An Insider’s View of the 1%
The 1%
Directed by Jamie Johnson (2006)
Film Review
The 1%, produced and directed by Johnson and Johnson heir Jamie Johnson, offers a rare insider perspective on the dangers of extreme wealth inequality for contemporary society. Johnson favors using major tax reform, ie requiring the wealthy to pay more tax, to reduce inequality.
The film devotes more or less equal emphasis to the psychological insecurities underlying greed and the sordid efforts of the 1% to corrupt democratic institutions.
It includes interviews with late conservative economist Milton Friedman, Ralph Nader, arms dealer Adnan Kashoggi (who brokered the Irangate arms for hostages deal), Robert Reich, sugar barons Alfie and Pepi Fanjul,* Chuck Collins (the Oscar Mayer heir who gave away his wealth), Bill Gates senior (who also supports higher taxes for the rich), and Nicole Buffet (her grandfather Warren Buffet cut her off from the family when she appeared in an earlier version of the 1%.
The film has some great archival footage of Katrina victims during their five day struggle, in the hurricane’s aftermath, to find food and water.
I was also struck at the major role professional financial advisors play in protecting the wealth and power of the 1%.
*Who largely owe their wealth to a quaint US law (and subsidy) that sets the wholesale price of sugar at 23 cents a pound while the rest of the world pays 7 cents.

How Trump Knows Continued Global Warming Will Make Earth Uninhabitable

Trump knows continued global warming will make the earth uninhatable because his chief strategist Stephen Bannon — a polymath — was personally involved in proving it.
Source – strategic-culture.org
– “….In the period 1991-1995, Ed Bass spent 200 million dollars on this, which was the first-ever series of increasingly rigorously controlled experiments…of Earth’s biological-and-physical ecosystem. He did it in order to find out whether this planet’s ecosystem will improve, decline, or end, if the growth of carbon gases continues on its existing course. Planetary death within a hundred years was found”:
(How Trump Knows That Continued Global Warming Will Make Earth Uninhabitable 100 Years from Now – By Eric ZUESSE)
He knows it because his chief strategist, Stephen Bannon — a polymath — was personally involved in proving it.
Bannon was brought into a major scientific experiment in 1994 as its «Acting CEO» to find a way that would avoid the experiment’s earlier finding that within a hundred years (i.e., by approximately 2095) this planet will be virtually uninhabitable unless global warming can and will quickly…

Children of the Insanely Rich
Born Rich: Children of the Insanely Rich
Directed by Jamie Johnson (2003)
Film Review
Born Rich is the first documentary of Johnson and Johnson heir Jamie Johnson, who also directed The 1%.
The film mainly consists of interviews with Johnson’s fellow heirs and heiresses about their feelings about being rich, their lifelong dependency on their parents, their struggle finding something meaningful to do with their lives and their sense of loneliness and isolation from wider society.
Despite Johnson’s effort portray his interviewees in an objective light, most appear to live incredibly superficial and shallow lives. Nevertheless a few, like Johnson, are openly critical of a lifestyle based on accumulating fabulous luxuries and ostentatiously spending money.

After meeting her goal of raising $4.5 million in just over 24 hours to cover vote recount costs in the swing states of Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and Michigan, Dr. Jill Stein has once again upped her fundraising game, now asking for a total of $7 million.
The first goal was funding for Wisconsin, completed just in time to meet the recount filing deadline of November 25. In Pennsylvania the deadline for filing for a recount is Monday, while Michigan has a Wednesday deadline.
Stein, who won about 1.2 million votes in the presidential election, launched an online fundraising campaign Wednesday in an effort to “ensure the integrity of our elections” and “demand recounts in these three states where the data suggest a significant need to verify machine-counted vote totals.”
