Please join Amar Habib in a fast on 19 March 2019 to commemorate farmers who have committed suicide
India’s farmer suicide problem is not going away. This is a very severe issue that needs the nation to come together to think seriously about the underlying causes. Mr Amar Habib of Kisan Putra is right in his diagnosis that anti-farmer laws that have blocked the basic freedoms of farmers are the root cause of […]

A helpful book on the origin of Indian liberalism
I chanced upon this book: HISTORY OF POLITICAL THOUGHT FROM RAMMOHUN TO DAYANANDA (1821-84) VOLUME I: BENGAL by BIMANBEHARI MAJUMDAR It has a significant discussion of the origin of Indian liberalism, starting from Raja Ram Mohun Roy. Modi the TOTAL FOOL. The TOTAL FAILURE of Swachh Bharat.
India is beyond filthy. It is a nightmare. The idea of Swachh Bharat is a TOTAL FAILURE since Modi did not change any of the underlying incentives in the system. He is a TOTAL FOOL and anyone who votes for such fools is also one. A couple of videos I made: I have warned all […]

Avi Dandiya is not backing out from his fake video. He must be brought to book for this criminal act.
Avi Dandiya has apparently come out with three claims: Firstly, Why we need to believe these web portals, who are run by funds. May be they could have taken money to dis-agree with me (Avi Dandiya). He also mentioned about some workers in Wire media who are taking money to create any program in their […]

Avi Dandiya’s video is either an act of extreme gullibility or well-considered treason against the Indian state
I will not add notes to my initial post on Avi Dandiya (here). That post records that I called out his hoax “video” yesterday, the moment I looked through it. Who is Avi Dandiya and what is his credibility?
There is one Avi Dandiya who has released an extraordinarily inflammatory video that contains an “audio recording” of an alleged “phone call” between Amit Shah and some unknown woman. This video purports to show that Amit Shah got Indian soldiers killed in Uri and now in Pulwama, in order to provoke a “retaliation” that would […]

Anand Prasad’s “Liberal Party of India” is socialism on steroids – and a bunch of loonies, I’m afraid
I attended an event in Gurgaon on 13 February in which Suman Malhotra and Plaban Bhattacharjee of the so-called “Liberal Party of India” attended prior to the main event and provided me with a document containing their views. I realised later that this is the same obnoxious “Liberal Party” that Anand Prasad is involved with […]

My next TOI blog post: The challenge of scaling up the liberal message
This, here. In this I talk about building a cadre. Extracts: ” I believe we need to build a cadre-based liberal party on the lines of CPM.” “The only risk during the now inevitable scaling up of this effort will come from opportunists. That is why it is important not to force the pace of […]
