Shetkari Sanghatana’s demands for GM technology have been known for 20 years

Why is the GOI so deaf to the farmers? In 2002 Sharad Joshi had compared the Bt cotton approval to the “fall of the Berlin Wall”  – premature. https://www.newscientist.com/article/... https://www.newscientist.com/article/... Response to a commentator regarding climate change

Received this: I read and very much agree with your article ‘Climate science Violates the Basic Precepts of Science’ but the mathematician Professor John Andrews, who will soon be delivering a talk in our town on “technologies to combat global warming”, to whom I showed your article, has commented, “there is no reference to existing […]

C.S. Prakash’s Twitter debate with Kavitha Kuruganti

C.S. Prakash has put out some informative tweets on GM technologies recently. I’m not good at reading Twitter so I’m making a post that contains the contents of Prakash’s tweets. BT BRINJAL/ COTTON Those who question the success of Bt cotton in India or eggplant in Bangladesh must look at their adoption rate by farmers, […]

Brief comment on Vandana Shiva’s recent comment on Bt crops

This is what’s been reported: “Bt crops like Bt Cotton and Bt Brinjal has a gene for producing a toxin inserted in the genome of the plant, thus producing the toxin in every cell all the time. Given that genetically modified crops cause great harm to biodiversity, the culprits must be booked” – source: http://www.millenniumpost.in/nation/m... […]

My response to Aruna Rodrigues’s email

Now my response to Aruna’s email. The first half of Aruna’s mail is ad hominem. I’m happy to ignore it since she doesn’t know what she doesn’t know. This is my preliminary response. I’ll also get this vetted by reputed scientists and update it if necessary. As usual my comments are in blue. ==ISSUE #1 APPARENTLY […]
