Here is Marilyn Monroe in a wardrobe test for a spectacular fishnet costume dripping with faux diamonds. This costume was intended for her musical number, “Diamonds Are A Girl’s Best Friend,” in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. But studio executives decided it was too risqué, so costume designer William Travilla came up with the famous pink satin gown instead.
